THE CROSS

Gerald Crabb

To some, it’s just an emblem, a formality.
It’s a symbol that’s been used so frequently.
Many blaspheme and despise.
Though it’s ancient, it abides.
A shrine to death that stands for life to me.

There was a cross made for the Son of God at Calvary.
Two pieces of rough timber on a hill.
Through His hands and through His feet,
He took the nails for you and me.
Angels watched as He died for the lost.
Though He could have walked away, He chose the cross.

You see why this old emblem is so dear to me.
It stood for suffering, yet it brought us peace.
It bridged the gap for me.
Offered cleansing for our sins.
An icon that reminds us that we’re free.

There was a cross made for the Son of God at Calvary.
Two pieces of rough timber on a hill.
Through His hands and through His feet,
He took the nails for you and me.
Angels watched as He died for the lost.
Though He could have walked away, He chose the cross.

God forbid that I should ever let my memory fade.
But forever keep the cross in view, for that’s where I was saved.

There was a cross made for the Son of God at Calvary.
Two pieces of rough timber on a hill.
Through His hands and through His feet,
He took the nails for you and me.
Angels watched as He died for the lost.
Though He could have walked away, He chose the cross.

HE'S BEEN A FRIEND TO ME

Author Unknown

Sometimes this old world gets me down
And I don't know what to do
Sometimes it gets hard to smile
I can't see the sun shine through
But even in my darkest days
When I can hardly see my way
I can feel the hand of Jesus
He's been a friend to me

Jesus gave my life a song
Jesus, I sing it all day long
He made my life worth living, you see
He's been a friend to me

He's a friend when the day is done
When I feel the wind blow
He's a friend when the morning sun
Sets my world all aglow
But more than all, He was my friend
Before I knew I needed Him
Greater love has no one
He gave His life for me

Jesus gave my life a song
Jesus, I sing it all day long
He made my life worth living, you see
He's been a friend to me

FIND YOU HERE

Ellie Holcomb, Rusty Varenkamp, & Benji Cowart

It's not the news that any of us hoped that we would hear
It's not the road we would have chosen, no
The only thing that we can see is darkness up ahead
But You're asking us to lay our worry down and sing a song instead

And I didn't know I'd find You here
In the middle of my deepest fear,
But You are drawing near
You are overwhelming me with peace
So I'll lift my voice and sing
You're gonna carry us through everything
You are drawing near
You're overwhelming all my fears with peace

You say that I should come to You with everything I need
You're asking me to thank You even when the pain is deep
You promise that You'll come and meet us on the road ahead
And no matter what the fear says, You give me a reason to be glad

And I didn't know I'd find You here
In the middle of my deepest fear,
But You are drawing near
You are overwhelming me with peace
So I'll lift my voice and sing
You're gonna carry us through everything
You are drawing near
You're overwhelming all my fears with peace

Here in the middle of the lonely night
Here in the middle of the losing fight,
You're Here in the middle of the deep regret
Here when the healing hasn't happened yet
Here in the middle of the desert place
Here in the middle when I cannot see Your face
Here in the middle with Your outstretched arms
You can see my pain and it breaks Your heart

And I didn't know I'd find You here
In the middle of my deepest fear,
But You are drawing near
You are overwhelming me with peace
So I'll lift my voice and sing
You're gonna carry us through everything
You are drawing near
You're overwhelming all my fears with peace

Rejoice, rejoice
Don't have to worry 'bout a single thing,
'Cause You are overwhelming me with, peace!
Don't have to worry 'bout a single thing
You're gonna carry us through everything
Overwhelming peace ...

HE HIDETH MY SOUL

Fanny Crosby

A wonderful Savior is Jesus my Lord,
A wonderful Savior to me;
He hideth my soul in the cleft of the rock,
Where rivers of pleasure I see.

He hideth my soul in the cleft of the rock,
That shadows a dry, thirsty land;
He hideth my life in the depths of His love,
And covers me there with His hand,
And covers me there with His hand.

A wonderful Savior is Jesus my Lord,
He taketh my burden away,
He holdeth me up and I shall not be moved,
He giveth me strength as my day.

With numberless blessings each moment He crowns,
And filled with His fullness divine,
I sing in my rapture, oh, glory to God!
For such a Redeemer as mine.

He hideth my soul in the cleft of the rock,
That shadows a dry, thirsty land;
He hideth my life in the depths of His love,
And covers me there with His hand,
And covers me there with His hand.

When clothed with His brightness transported I rise
To meet Him in clouds of the sky,
His perfect salvation, His wonderful love,
I’ll shout with the millions on high.

He hideth my soul in the cleft of the rock,
That shadows a dry, thirsty land;
He hideth my life in the depths of His love,
And covers me there with His hand,
And covers me there with His hand.

VICTORY SHALL BE MINE

Nancy Harmon

There’s a battle we’re engaged in,
There’s a goal line we must cross
There’s a weight that must be lifted
There’s a trophy to be won

Though it seems…Though it seems the battles raging
Some are falling…Some are falling at my side
I’m gonna run this race…I’m gonna run this race with courage
‘Til I cross…’Til I cross the victory line

It shall be mine…(Victory, victory shall be mine, shall be mine)
It shall be mine…(Victory, victory shall be mine, shall be mine)
If I hold my peace, let the Lord fight my battles
If I sing and shout, have faith and never doubt
It shall be mine…(Victory, victory shall be mine, shall be mine)
Victory, victory shall be mine

Oh the joy that now awaits me
When I reach the other side
I’ll be safe at home with Jesus
In His presence so divine

So I’ll run…So I’ll run this race with patience
Looking forward to the time
There’s just one more step…There’s just one more step before me
Then I’ll cross…Then I’ll cross the victory line

It shall be mine…(Victory, victory shall be mine, shall be mine)
It shall be mine…(Victory, victory shall be mine, shall be mine)
If I hold my peace, let the Lord fight my battles
If I sing and shout, have faith and never doubt
It shall be mine…(Victory, victory shall be mine, shall be mine)
Victory, victory shall be mine

Oh, victory in Jesus
My Savior forever
Forever

Victory, victory shall be mine, shall be mine
Victory, victory shall be mine
Be mine
Be mine
Victory shall be mine

THE MEASURE OF A MAN

Donald A. Koch, Stephanie Lewis, Mark Harris

This world can analyze and size you up and throw you on the scales
They can I.Q. you and run you through their rigorous details
They can do their best to rate you, and they'll place you on the charts
And then back it up with scientific smarts
But there's more to what you're worth than their human eyes can see

Oh, I say the measure of a man is not how tall you stand
How wealthy or intelligent you are
'Cause I've found out the measure of a man God knows and understands
For He looks inside to the bottom of your heart
And what's in the heart defines the measure of a man

Well, you can doubt your worth and search for who you are and where you stand
But God made you in His image when He formed you in His hands
And He looks at you with mercy, and He sees you through His love
You're His child, and that will always be enough
For there's more to what you're worth than you could ever comprehend

Oh, I say the measure of a man is not how tall you stand
How wealthy or intelligent you are
'Cause I've found out the measure of a man God knows and understands
For He looks inside to the bottom of your heart
And what's in the heart defines the measure of a man

You can spend your life pursuing physical perfection
There is so much more, more than ever meets the eye
For God looks through the surface
And He defines your worth by what is on the inside

Oh, I say the measure of a man is not how tall you stand
How wealthy or intelligent you are
'Cause I've found out the measure of a man God knows and understands
For He looks inside to the bottom of your heart
And what's in the heart defines the measure of a man

EYES OF HEAVEN

Jim Brady, Tony Wood, and Barry Weeks

You feel forgotten like no one cares anymore
You’re all alone working hard, faithful to the Lord
But you’re starting to grow weary so I’m here to say, "Take heart,
God sees where you’re serving. He knows who you are."

The eyes of heaven move through the world today
That our God may give strength to hearts of faith
They never miss a moment, so stay faithful and true
For the eyes of heaven see you

We all have seasons when it seems we’ve labored long
And we start to feel like our souls begin to lose their song
But let your heart take comfort and courage from His Word
Hope has a revival when we trust the truth we’ve heard.

Keep on serving boldly for you are in His sight
Keep teaching the Word, keep telling the lost, being salt and light.

The eyes of heaven move through the world today
That our God may give strength to hearts of faith
They never miss a moment, so stay faithful and true
For the eyes of heaven see you

HE WAS THERE

Author?

I went back to a cruel place, just had to go again.
Remembering the love, the grace, the price He paid for sin.
I can see Him willingly take the cross to Calvary
He was there to bear the penalty and shame
He was there, the world has never been the same.

He was there, but He’s not there anymore
He was there when they crucified my Lord
They nailed Him there that day, but on a cross He would not stay
He was there, but He’s not there anymore.

I went back to the garden tomb. It was a borrowed grave.
He didn’t need a long-term room, He needed just three days.
The soldiers gone, the mighty stone was rolled away.
The world was shown, He was there to dare death to hold the King.
He was there, but He’s alive, O let us sing!

He was there, but He’s not there anymore
He was there when they buried my Lord
They locked Him away, but in a grave, He would not stay
He was there, but He’s not there anymore.

He walked right up there on the porch, knocking at my heart.
He was calling at the door, “I’ve come to where you are.
I want to know you, long to show you, I am here to save your soul.”
He was there to share the greatest gift with me.
He was there if I would open and see.

He was there, but He’s not there anymore.
He was there, but I opened up the door.
He lives in me. I know He is not outside of my soul.
He was there, but He’s not there anymore.

Separated by my sin, I was so very far from Him
I was there, but I’m not there anymore... anymore.

CHAINBREAKER

Jonathan Lindley Smith / Mia Fieldes / Zach Williams

If you’ve been walking the same old road for miles and miles
If you’ve been hearing the same old voice tell the same old lies
If you’re trying to feel the same old holes inside
There’s a better life; There’s a better life

If you’ve got pain, He’s a pain taker
If you feel lost, He’s a way maker
If you need freedom or saving, He’s a prison-shaking Savior
If you’ve got chains, He’s a chain breaker

We’ve all search for the light of day in the dead of night
We’ve all found ourselves worn out from the same old fight
We’ve all run to things we know just ain’t right
And there’s a better life; There’s a better life

If you’ve got pain, He’s a pain taker
If you feel lost, He’s a way maker
If you need freedom or saving, He’s a prison-shaking Savior
If you’ve got chains, He’s a chain breaker

If you believe it, If you receive it
If you can feel it, Somebody testify
If you believe it, If you receive it
If you can feel it. Somebody testify, testify

If you’ve got pain, He’s a pain taker
If you feel lost, He’s a way maker
If you need freedom or saving, He’s a prison-shaking Savior

MY NAME IS JESUS

 Mark Bishop

My name is Matthew; you might have seen me
Preaching and singing on these dusty streets
Just one of many who were following Jesus
We were all witness to miraculous feats
Maybe you just heard last week they took Him
On Friday my Lord was hung on a cross
It’s been three days now, and I feel so empty
It’s Sunday morning, and I feel so lost

My name is Mary; my heart is heavy
I’ve cried so much, I can’t cry anymore
How could this happen? He was so gentle
I’ve never met a man like Him before
How I adored Him, how I believed Him
Such a sweet peace when He walked in the room
I washed his feet, oh but lately I can’t sleep
It’s Sunday morning, think I’ll visit His tomb

My name is Peter, maybe they told you
I had denied Him; I’m sorry it’s true
He knew my weakness still He forgave me
I stood up to the soldiers, there were only a few
But I felt His hand come to rest on my shoulder
He lowered my sword “Is this what I’ve taught?”
That’s when they took Him; later they beat Him
It’s Sunday morning; I wish now I’d fought

I am a soldier; I am a Roman
I saw the wound in His side, cut so deep
I have been stationed all night at his graveside
But it’s Sunday morning, and I fell asleep
There in the darkness the earth shook and trembled
The tomb was found empty the stone rolled away
Mary left weeping; on the path was a stranger
In the first light of Sunday, she asked Him His name
She asked Him His name

“My name is Jesus!”

He said, “My name is Jesus, and I have returned
From the grave in fulfillment of my Father’s plan
I marched into hell, past the gates of that kingdom
And I have returned with the keys in my hand
I am the Son of Go;d I’m the Redeemer
I’m the Great Shepherd and I am the Lamb
I was the crucified sacrifice Friday night
But it’s Sunday morning, and I am alive!

My name is Jesus! (Tell all the world He’s alive, He’s alive!)
Tell all the world He’s alive, He’s alive!
My name is Jesus! (Tell all the world He’s alive, He’s alive!)
Tell all the world he’s alive, he’s alive!
My name is Jesus!

JESUS CAME OUT ALIVE

Don Balltzglier

They hung their heads in sorrow
Jesus, their Lord, had died
No reason to live tomorrow
Eleven bowed down and cried
Then Mary ran down the dusty road crying,
"Peter, come see where He lay,
For I've seen the Master outside the tomb
He is risen today!"

Jesus came out alive
And the darkness ran away
The light in the tomb
Dispelled all the gloom
When Jesus rose that day
Oh, the place where they laid Him is empty
No power could keep Him inside
He holds today the keys to the grave
Jesus came out alive!

Thomas doubted her story
"In grief you imagined this thing
'Til I've seen the hands that were riven
Touch His side, I will never believe."
Then an awesome presence filled the place
Jesus appeared in the room
Thomas declared it, "My Lord and my God,
You're arisen today from the tomb!"

Jesus came out alive
And the darkness ran away
The light in the tomb
Dispelled all the gloom
When Jesus rose that day
Oh, the place where they laid Him is empty
No power could keep Him inside
He holds today the keys to the grave
Jesus came out alive!

GONE

Elridge Fox

Mary came unto the tomb of Jesus,
The stone was moved, and He had gone away,
The angel said "Fear not, I know whom seek ye",
"But He is risen," This she heard him say.

Gone, the stone is rolled back,
Gone, the tomb is empty,
Gone, to sit at the Father's side;
Gone, over death triumphant,
Gone, sin is defeated,
Gone, He lives forevermore.

My friend, If you don't know my risen Savior,
I beg of you, don't wait too late to pray,
Don't wait until His bride has been completed
Don't wait until you hear Him say, "It's too late"

Gone, the stone is rolled back,
Gone, the tomb is empty,
Gone, to sit at the Father's side;
Gone, over death triumphant,
Gone, sin is defeated,
Gone, He lives forevermore.

HERE HE COMES

Joseph Habedank, Chris Cron, Tony Wood

Here He comes, stepping down from Glory
Bethlehem is just the start of the story
Here He comes; Oh, here He comes
Here He comes teaching in the temple
Making timeless wisdom sound simple
Here He comes; Oh, here He comes

Here He comes to seek and save
To wash our every sin away
Hear the captives start to say,
“Here He comes!”

Here He comes giving sight to a blind man
Calling out, giving life to a dead man
Here He comes; Oh, here He comes
Here He comes, Hosannas loudly ringing
Carries the cross along the way of suffering
Here He comes; Oh, here He comes

Here He comes to seek and save
To wash our every sin away
Hear the captives start to say,
“Here He comes!”

Here He comes, a miracle at sunrise
An empty tomb is shouting, “He’s alive!”
Here He comes; Oh, Here He comes

Here He comes, Oh glorious day!
He is risen from the grave
All creation shouts His praise Here He comes

My heart beats with expectation
My soul aches with anticipation
Oh, what a moment of celebration
When we see Him in the sky

Here He comes, stepping down from Glory
Coming back to finish the story
Here He comes; Oh, here He comes

Here He comes And I can’t wait
For the dawning of that day
When the angels finally say, “Here He comes!"
Here He comes!

THERE ROSE A LAMB

Kyla Rowland

IT WAS THE THIRD DAY SINCE HE DIED
AND IT WAS SAID HE WOULD ARISE
THEN FROM THE GRAVE HIS PLAN CAME FORTH
OH, I HAVE REASON TO REJOICE

HE CHOSE THE PLACE, HE CHOSE THE HOUR
THAT HE WOULD RISE BY HIS OWN POWER
A SACRIFICE THREE DAYS AGO
AND NOW, PRAISE GOD, THE LAMB AROSE

THERE ROSE A LAMB IN JERUSALEM
HE WAS THE SON OF THE GREAT I AM
HE PROVED TO BE MY VICTORY
THERE ROSE A LAMB IN JERUSALEM

I WASN'T THERE WHEN JESUS DIED
I WASN'T THERE TO SEE HIM RISE
BUT I WAS THERE WHEN HE SAVED MY SOUL
FOR WITHIN MY HEART HIS LOVE AROSE

THERE ROSE A LAMB IN JERUSALEM
HE WAS THE SON OF THE GREAT I AM

WE ARE SO BLESSED

William J. Gaither, Gloria Gaither, Greg Nelson

We are so blessed by the gifts from Your hand
I just can’t understand why You’ve loved us so much
We are so blessed; we just can’t find a way
Or the words that can say, “Thank you, Lord, for Your touch”

When we’re empty, You fill us ‘til we overflow
When we’re hungry, You feed us and cause us to know
We are so blessed; take what we have to bring
Take it all, everything; Lord, we love You so much

We are so blessed by the things You have done
The victories we’ve won, and what You’ve brought us through
We are so blessed; take what we have to bring
Take it all, everything; Lord, we bring it to You

When we’re empty, You fill us ‘til we overflow
When we’re hungry, You feed us and cause us to know
We are so blessed; take what we have to bring
Take it all, everything; Lord, we love You so much

BIG ENOUGH

Michael Farren and Joseph Habedank

I've got a heart that's full of faith-filled helplessness
There are mountains ahead that I can't move by myself
But I know when I'm weak, He's strong
When I can barely breathe, there's still a song
Even though it's hard right now, I'm not here on my own

So when it seems it can't be done, I know God is big enough
I can run the race I'm called to run 'cause I know God is big enough
He'll finish everything He starts
He'll meet us right here where we are
I can feel faith rising up,
I know God is big enough...
Oh yeah he's big enough

On the days that the shadows of doubt make me feel small,
I declare that I don't stand in my strength at all,
Oh no, Cause I won't live a day you didn't plan,
Every single moment is in your hands
Even if the whole world shakes, You're the Rock on which I stand

So when it seems it can't be done, I know God is big enough
I can run the race I'm called to run 'cause I know God is big enough
He'll finish everything He starts
He'll meet us right here where we are
I can feel faith rising up,
I know God is big enough...

He's bigger than the fear that surrounds me
Bigger than the chains that have bound me
Bigger than the story my past can tell, oh
Bigger than the weight of tomorrow.
Bigger than the hurt and the sorrow
Bigger than the lies I've told myself

So when it seems it can't be done, I know God is big enough
I can run the race I'm called to run 'cause I know God is big enough
He'll finish everything He starts
He'll meet us right here where we are
I can feel faith rising up,
I know God is big enough...

I CAN'T KEEP FROM SINGING

John Darin Rowsey and Justin Rivers

I am not the first to see
That life is not always a bed of roses
And I've been around enough
To feel the kind of pain that it imposes
But when I think of all the times that God has proven true
I find there's nothing else for me to do

I can't keep from singing, dancing
Gotta tell the world about the freedom that I found
Makes me wanna shout it
I can't stop talking about it
Ever since the day He gave my life some meaning
I can't keep from singing

There's a passion burning deep inside
Like I have never known
Sometimes it feels just like a fire
That is shut up in my bones
I can't contain this kind of feeling
And I know there is no doubt
There's nothing left to do but let it out

I can't keep from singing, dancing
Gotta tell the world about the freedom that I found
Makes me wanna shout it
I can't stop talking about it
Ever since the day He gave my life some meaning
I can't keep from singing

FACES

Rodney Griffin

I dreamed my life was done
I stood before God's throne
It was time to see what my reward would be
With love, He reviewed my life
To count what was done for Christ
For that is what will last eternally

See I'd done my best to share
That Jesus really cares
And He would save if they would just believe
Oh, but seldom did harvest come
And so few did I see won
Until the Lord said, "Turn around and see."

Then he showed me the faces of
The ones who'd come because of me
So many faces that my life had led to Calvary
All those years I thought nobody saw as I labored in lowly places
That's when Jesus smiled and showed me all the faces.

He said though you did not see the yield,
You were faithful to plow the field
At other times you helped me plant the seed
No matter how small the task, you did just as I asked
And thanks to you these souls have been set free.

Then he showed me the faces of
The ones who'd come because of me
So many faces that my life had led to Calvary
All those years I thought nobody saw as I labored in lowly places
That's when Jesus smiled and showed me all the faces.

And for those years you thought
Nobody saw as you labored in lowly places
One day He'll smile and show you all the faces.
... the faces... you'll see their faces.

SILENT PRAYER

Michael Waddle

He’s never known the sound of Jesus’ name
Born into a world of silence
Still, he came to trust Him just the same
Signing when he prays for guidance
And though he cannot speak a word
He always knows that he is heard

God hears the sound
When a leaf falls to the ground
Or a cry of despair
Though great or small
He hears them all
Even if a silent prayer

She never had to spend her life alone
Sixty years together
Until the day God called him Home
She thought that he would live forever
In grief, she couldn’t say a word
But through her tears, she knows He heard

God hears the sound
When a leaf falls to the ground
Or a cry of despair
Though great or small
He hears them all
Even if a silent prayer

When life becomes too much
And words are not enough
Just know He listens and He cares

God hears the sound
When a leaf falls to the ground
Or a cry of despair
Though great or small
He hears them all
Even if a silent prayer

BREATHE

Jonny Diaz, Jonathan Smith, Tony Wood

Alarm clock screaming, bare feet hit the floor
It’s off to the races, everybody out the door
I’m feeling like I’m falling behind, it’s a crazy life
Ninety miles an hour, going fast as I can
Trying to push a little harder, trying to get the upper hand
So much to do in so little time, it’s a crazy life
It’s ready, set, go. It’s another wild day
When the stress is on the rise in my heart, I feel you say

Just Breathe, just breathe
Come and rest at my feet
And be, just be
Chaos calls but all you really need
Is to just breathe

Third cup of joe just to get me through the day
Want to make the most of time, but I feel it slip away
I wonder if there’s something more to this crazy life
I’m busy, busy, busy, and it’s no surprise to see
That I only have time for me, me, me
There’s gotta be something more to this crazy life
I’m hanging on tight to another wild day
When it starts to fall apart in my heart I hear you say

Just Breathe, just breathe
Come and rest at my feet
And be, just be
Chaos calls but all you really need
Is to take it in fill your lungs
The peace of God that overcomes
Just breathe
So let your weary spirit rest
Lay down what’s good and find what’s best
Just breathe

Just breathe, just breathe
Come and rest at my feet
And be, just be
Chaos calls but all you really need
Is to just breathe
Just breathe
