WITH ALL THE MANY MIRACLES

Rodney Griffin

God gave a bold command
To cross the Jordan and claim the land
Not to worry about the giants they would face
But when the spies returned
To tell the others what they had learned
They said, "For us to win, there's just no way."

Still two of them trusted God
Caleb and Joshua
They said, "Children, don't believe what you have heard.
We know we're out-manned by far
And they're much bigger than we are
But let's not forget just who it is we serve."

With all the many miracles,
Why don't you think it's possible?
With all the many things we've seen,
Why do you think it's just a dream?
With all the things He's done for us,
Don't you think it's time we trust?
Remember what is possible
With all the many miracles.

Like when we were about to die
Manna fell from the sky
And water came from a dry old dusty rock
And back when Pharaoh was closing in
God closed the sea again
But not before we all had safely crossed.

So, here you are, my friend
You face a battle you cannot win
And you tell yourself, "There's just no need to try"
Consider how good God's been
He's been faithful time and again
You must believe and here's the reason why.

With all the many miracles,
Why don't you think it's possible?
With all the many things we've seen,
Why do you think it's just a dream?
With all the things He's done for us,
Don't you think it's time we trust?
Remember what is possible
With all the many miracles.

  4. geat song but it is not scriptural. Caleb and Joshua and the 10 spies never crossed the jordan at this point... the 10 spies never did. the other 2 did 40 years later

    1. Mr. Negative, I believe I understand where you got your name. You must not have paid very close attention to the lyrics. The song writer never said that they crossed the Jordan at this point. The entire song is the testimony of Caleb and Joshua to the ten spies, trying to help them see that God could be trusted based on his past track record. Despite this, the ten spies didn't listen. The last verse is a plea to today's Christian to not follow in their footsteps--to trust God because He has proven Himself trustworthy. Sounds pretty scriptural to me!

  5. Do you think it would more accurate if verse 2 said "To enter the promised land" Nu 13 1-2.

    1. Not sure who you're asking, but I think it's accurate as it is written. Yes, there is some "reading between the lines" about the conversation that may have taken place, but that is well within the rights of artistic license, and as long as it does not contradict Scripture, I'm fine with it. That being said, I fear the point of the song is being overlooked. It's all about getting our focus on God rather than other things, so may I suggest that we do that at this time? Thanks!
