WORTH IT

Marty Funderburk, Scott Wilemon

Lord, You had the splendor of Heaven
A crown, a robe, and a throne
So what kind of love would lead You to leave
The safety of that kind of home

I know that You willingly suffered
But why would You suffer for me
I know what I am, and I don't understand
How I could be worth Calvary

When You knew I was lost
And You knew that a cross
Was the price You'd have to pay
When they cried, "Crucify"
Lord, You didn't have to die
But You did it anyway
Now I'll never see what You saw in me
'Cause You knew I would never be perfect
But I'm just so glad
That somehow You thought I was worth it

Lord, sometimes I feel like a vessel
Just useless old pieces of clay
But somehow You saw more
Something worth dying for
You paid more than You should have paid

When You knew I was lost
And You knew that a cross
Was the price You'd have to pay
When they cried, "Crucify"
Lord, You didn't have to die
But You did it anyway
Now I'll never see what You saw in me
'Cause You knew I would never be perfect
But I'm just so glad
That somehow You thought I was worth it

GOD'S GREAT

Looking back over my life,
God's good, so good.
And it's a fact sometimes I took the wrong track,
But God's good, so good.
And when I look at where I've been
And what He's brought me through,
All I can say is God's been so good,
But on second thought, God's been great.

How great, how great, how great is God's amazing grace.
Amazing grace, the grace that sought me
Great, the blood that bought me, how great!
How long, how long, how long are His arms of mercy.
Reached way down to the bottom,
Picked me up, no problem
Ain't God good?
No, God's great.

I'm moving on, and I've got a new song
Cause God's good, so good.
And when I'm faced with trials in my way,
God's good, so good.
And when I'm questioned about this smile on my face,
I must reply.
All I can say is God's been so good,
But on second thought, God's been great.

How great, how great, how great is God's amazing grace.
Amazing grace, the grace that sought me
Great, the blood that bought me, how great!
How long, how long, how long are His arms of mercy.
Reached way down to the bottom,
Picked me up, no problem
Ain't God good?
No, God's great.

THANK YOU

Sonya Isaac and Shelton Feazell

Thank you for the things
That I've never thanked you for
You've given everything I need
And still I ask for more
It's not that I'm ungrateful
I'm just forgetful, Lord
So I thank you for the things
That I've never thanked you for

There are so many blessings
That you have given me
Things I take for granted every day
The beauty of creation
And the promise of my salvation
Lord, help me to remember when I pray

Thank you for the things
That I've never thanked you for
You've given everything I need
And still I ask for more
It's not that I'm ungrateful
I'm just forgetful, Lord
So I thank you for the things
That I've never thanked you for

Now when my way grows weary
And rest is hard to find
And sometimes I can't see my way through
When it seems that I am blinded
That's when I need to be reminded
That the strength I thought was mine
It came from you

Thank you for the things
That I've never thanked you for
You've given everything I need
And still I ask for more
It's not that I'm ungrateful
I'm just forgetful, Lord
So I thank you for the things
That I've never thanked you for

I HAVE BEEN BLESSED

Mike Compton

He walks among us, all that He does
All of His mercy and all of His love
If the pen of the writer could write every day
Even this world could never contain
How I've been blessed

The warmth in winter, the flowers in spring
The laughter in summer and the changing of leaves
There's food on my table, a good place to sleep
Clothes on my back and shoes on my feet
I have been blessed

I have been blessed; God's so good to me
Precious are His thoughts of you and me
No way I could count them; there's not enough time
So I'll just thank Him for being so kind
God has been good, so good
I have been blessed

Arms that can raise, a voice that can talk
Hands that can touch and legs that can walk
Ears that can listen and eyes that can see
Oh, I've got to praise Him as long as I breathe
I have been blessed

A father and mother who nurtured and raised
A brother and sister, memories made
Our pastor to lead us, the altar to pray
Stripes that can heal and blood that can save
I have been blessed

I have been blessed; God's so good to me
Precious are His thoughts of you and me
No way I could count them; there's not enough time
So I'll just thank Him for being so kind
God has been good, so good
I have been blessed

We live in a country--the greatest on earth
Our flag stands for freedom and what it is worth
She stands in the harbor--Miss Liberty calls
All gave some, but some gave it all
For me to be blessed

He's my shoulder to lean on when I am down
The rock where He leads me when I'm overwhelmed
The place where He hides me under His wings
He's not just a song; He's the reason I sing
I have been blessed

I have been blessed; God's so good to me
Precious are His thoughts of you and me
No way I could count them; there's not enough time
So I'll just thank Him for being so kind
God has been good, so good
I have been blessed

I'LL SAY THANKS

Rodney Griffin

Ungrateful am I for so many things
Like the Father's tender mercies every day
And though I owe my life
To the cross where Jesus died
I often fail to stop and give Him thanks

How could I look upon the cross
And not say "Thank you?"
How could I hear His mother cry
And not be ashamed?
How could I see His bleeding hands,
And not feel responsible?
How could I look upon the cross,
And not say "Thanks?"

He was beaten beyond recognition
Then a crown of thorns was pressed into His brow
His back was torn apart
To pay for all the crimes I'd done
So you'd think I'd take the time to humbly bow

How could I look upon the cross
And not say "Thank you?"
How could I hear His mother cry
And not be ashamed?
How could I see His bleeding hands,
And not feel responsible?
How could I look upon the cross,
And not say "Thanks?"

So I will look upon the cross
And I'll say "Thank you."
I will magnify the power of your name
I will take a stand for Christ,
For He is the Lord of all
I will look upon the cross
And I'll say, "Thank you, Lord,
"For saving my soul."
I will look upon the cross
And I'll say "Thanks."

LOOKING FOR THE GRACE

Rodney Griffin

On the horizon of a sky that's blue
A change in weather, I know it's coming soon
Dark clouds will gather to test my faith
What will I ask of God whenever I pray?

I won't be seeking for answers in advance
Or to be delivered from this trying circumstance
Won't be begging for freedom from the pain
Just asking for God to hold my hand again

I'm looking for the grace to come and help me through this trial
I wanna feel the wonder while in this storm that makes me smile
I'm looking for the peace that transcends each worry I face
I'm looking for the Helper to come my way,
Not looking for the great escape; I'm looking for the grace.

Not looking for an ending to the hurt
Or special treatment that I know I don't deserve
Won't ask to be lifted from the mire
Just prayin' for grace to shield me from the fire.

I'm looking for the grace to come and help me through this trial
I wanna feel the wonder while in this storm that makes me smile
I'm looking for the peace that transcends each worry I face
I'm looking for the Helper to come my way,
Not looking for the great escape; I'm looking for the grace.

A LOVE THAT WON'T STOP

Author Unknown

I was in a valley
I was sinking low
I had slipped and fallen
I had missed the goal
Condemnation threatened
I cried out in fear
Mercy said, "Forgiven
Come and fly up here!"

I love the Lord
He heard my cry
He lifted me way up high
Set my feet upon the mountain top
Just think of it
The Lord, the King
The Creator of everything
Loves me with a love that won't stop

If you bear the burdens
Of a sin-scarred life
Past mistakes and failures
Haunt you in the night
You can be forgiven
For God's Word is true
On the wings of eagles
You can sing it too

I love the Lord
He heard my cry
He lifted me way up high
Set my feet upon the mountain top
Just think of it
The Lord, the King
The Creator of everything
Loves me with a love that won't stop

AN OLD STONE THE LORD ROLLED AWAY

Mark Bishop

One night I dreamed that I had crossed over
Wading through Jordan’s cold waters, I saw
a shore up ahead where my loved ones were waiting
Words can’t express the pure joy of it all

We walked on the shore toward the gates of that city
Each one who entered laid something aside
I saw them lay down what they no longer needed
They were casting off relics from life’s other side

There laid the chains where Paul was imprisoned
There fell the tears from the eyes of the blind
There were the crutches from the man who left walking
And the bucket of water at the well left behind
And I saw an old cross with blood-stains upon it
It’s been gathering dust since that day
Oh and I saw the sins that I left at the altar
By an old stone the Lord rolled away

Oh there in that city, I saw no one crying
No sign of heart-ache, no tears in their eyes
There were no hearts full of worry in heaven
I looked, but I saw not a cloud in the sky

And when I woke up from that vision of heaven,
There was a peace that came over my soul
Someday I’ll return to the gates of that city
And what I’ll see outside, I already know

There laid the chains where Paul was imprisoned
There fell the tears from the eyes of the blind
There were the crutches from the man who left walking
And the bucket of water at the well left behind
And I saw an old cross with blood-stains upon it
It’s been gathering dust since that day
Oh and I saw the sins that I left at the altar
By an old stone the Lord rolled away

Yeah, I saw the sins that I left at the altar
By an old stone the Lord rolled away
The Lord rolled away

WORRY ENDS WHERE FAITH BEGINS

Sandy Blythe

You’re worried about tomorrow and what the future holds
Your mind is filled with questions as you face the unknown
You’ve spent so many sleepless nights trying to work it out
Worry has consumed your faith with all its fear and doubt

Worry ends where faith begins
When you put it in God’s hands and leave it there…Oh just leave it there
He’s still in control so trust in Him and take a hold of faith again
For worry ends where faith begins

Why should we ever worry, why should we fret at all
When worry only hinders the mighty hand of God
He said it is impossible to please him without faith
So lay aside your worry, walk on in Jesus name

Worry ends where faith begins
When you put it in God’s hands and leave it there…Oh just leave it there
He’s still in control so trust in Him and take a hold of faith again
For worry ends where faith begins

JESUS SAVES

Roger & Debbie Bennett

The church has been silent
While the world raised its voice
In loud and angry tones, they took the lead
But all across Creation
There’s a rumbling in the hills
As the chosen ones of God stand up
And make His message known

I’m gonna shout it from the housetops
Proclaim it from the mountaintops
Tell the world around me Jesus saves
I have made my choice
I’m gonna make a joyful noise
The world will hear my voice, Jesus saves

The rocks and hills were ready
To proclaim the Savior's might
But the Spirit of the Lord said they should wait
You see, God knew His children
Were ready to march on and proclaim His word
Throughout the land and seal the devil’s fate

But the world still tells us daily
That God is not alive
And salvation’s plan is just a fairy tale
But their lies don’t change the truth
That Jesus died for you
And the Word says His returning
Can happen any day

Oh, I’m gonna shout it from the housetops
Proclaim it from the mountaintops
Tell the world around me Jesus saves
Well, I have made my choice
I’m gonna make a joyful noise
The world will hear my voice, Jesus saves

We have heard the joyful sound
Jesus saves, Jesus saves
Spread the tidings all around
Jesus saves, Jesus saves

I’m gonna shout it from the housetops
Proclaim it from the mountaintops
Tell the world around me Jesus saves
Oh, I have made my choice
I’m gonna make a joyful noise
The world will hear my voice Jesus saves

BUT GOD

Rodney Griffin & Twila McBride

I opened my eyes though I could not see,
So dark was the mystery I faced
Who could I find to come bear this with me,
To roll back the clouds for one day
In search of some answers, I talked with my friends,
Just longing for loving advice
But no one I talked to knew where to begin,
They were as helpless as I

But God sees it so clear from His throne
God considers my heartache His own
So I will lift up my head and be strong
I have a Father who's watching over
And I need no other but God

You woke up today with that same heavy heart,
You wonder how long will this last
Your gleaming faith has now grown so dark,
You asked Him, "Lord, when will this pass?
The voice that once praised Him now groans through the tears
And questions "Lord, where are You now"
The hope that sustained you for all of these years
Seems to be fading somehow

But God sees it so clear from His throne
God considers my heartache His own
So I will lift up my head and be strong
I have a Father who's watching over
And I need no other but God

Say Amen

Jason Cox, Michael Farren and Kenna Turner West

We're all on a journey, and we're called to walk by faith
There'll always be the mountains and valleys in our way
But right here in this moment may our strength be renewed
As we recall what God has done and how we've seen him move

If there's anybody here who's found Him faithful
Anybody here who knows He's able
Say, Amen
Anybody here found joy in the midst of sorrow
Peace in the storm, hope for tomorrow
And you've seen it time and time again
Just say. Amen

Sometimes through the shadows it's hard for us to see
But be bold and courageous and follow where He leads
Greater is the One who's in us than he that's in the world
So, child of God, remember the battle is the Lord's

If there's anybody here who's found Him faithful
Anybody here who knows He's able
Say, Amen
Anybody here found joy in the midst of sorrow
Peace in the storm, hope for tomorrow
And you've seen it time and time again
Just say. Amen

Church, stand and testify
Of the greatness of God in our lives

If there's anybody here who's found Him faithful
Anybody here who knows He's able
Say, Amen
Anybody here found joy in the midst of sorrow
Peace in the storm, hope for tomorrow
And you've seen it time and time again
Just say. Amen

EMPTY ME

Chris Sligh, Clint Lagerberg, Tony Wood

I've had just enough of the spotlight when it burns bright
To see how it gets in the blood
And I've tasted my share of the sweet life and the wild ride
And found a little is not quite enough
I know how I can stray
And how fast my heart could change

Empty me of the selfishness inside
Every vain ambition and the poison of my pride
And any foolish thing my heart holds to
Lord, empty me of me so I can be filled with You

I've seen just enough of the quick buys, of the best lies
To know how prodigals can be drawn away
I know how I can stray
And how fast my heart could change

Empty me of the selfishness inside
Every vain ambition and the poison of my pride
And any foolish thing my heart holds to
Lord, empty me of me so I can be filled with You

'Cause everything is a lesser thing
Compared to You, compared to You
'Cause everything is a lesser thing
Compared to You, so I surrender all.

Empty me of the selfishness inside
Every vain ambition and the poison of my pride
And any foolish thing my heart holds to
Lord, empty me of me so I can be
Lord, empty me of me so I can be filled with You
Oh, filled with You, empty me

LIFE GOES ON

When the world as you know it has ended.
And the darkness won't give way to dawn.
In your hour of grief, it's so hard to believe
Life goes on.....

When you pray for a way to endure it.
But a part of your heart is gone.
Though you can't see it now,
You still know somehow..
Life goes on.....

Life goes on, there is never an end.
What was dead, lives again!
Jesus promised that life goes on
For the ones who believe will live eternally.
Don't fear the great unknown
Remember that life goes on

So say to the doubt that would keep you
In a place you have never belonged.
I have nothing to dread for my Father said
Life goes on....

And one day, when death comes to call you..
Say farewell to this world that you've known.
As you leave earth behind, you will wake to find
Life goes on..

Life goes on, there is never an end.
What was dead, lives again!
Jesus promised that life goes on
For the ones who believe will live eternally.
Don't fear the great unknown
Remember that life goes on

Our troubles will end, all the trials will pass
Our tears will all be dry.
When the struggle is over, all sorrow will cease.
And death itself will die

Life goes on, there is never an end.
What was dead, lives again!
Jesus promised that life goes on
For the ones who believe will live eternally.
Don't fear the great unknown
Remember that life goes on

EVEN THEN

O, Lord, where do I begin
To put my life together again?
My world has fallen all apart,
And it's left me with this broken heart.
I know You know just what
I'm going through
Yes, things look hopeless
But I'm blessed because I still have You.

Even when my world stands still
And I feel I'll never smile again
Even when life is so unfair
And I've lost what could have been
Even when it doesn't make any sense
I'll love you, Lord, even then

Even when I've trusted You
To meet my needs the way I had planned
You chose to meet them in a way
I will never understand
'Tho it's broke my heart in two
And I don't know how I'll get through
Tho' my pain is great, Lord,
I'll never stop loving You.

Even when my world stands still
And I feel I'll never smile again
Even when life is so unfair
And I've lost what could have been
Even when it doesn't make any sense
I'll love you, Lord, even then

HE LOOKED BEYOND MY FAULT

Dottie Rambo (not sure who wrote the second verse)

Amazing grace shall always be my song of praise.
For it was grace that bought my liberty,
I do not know just why He came to love me so.
He looked beyond my fault and saw my need.

I shall forever lift mine eyes to Calvary,
To view the cross, where Jesus died for me
How marvelous the grace that caught my falling soul
He looked beyond my fault and saw my need.

If not for grace, my soul would be a drifting ship
With no safe harbor from the angry waves
But Calvary's cross shines brightly through the darkest storm
And just in time, His mercy rescues me!

I shall forever lift mine eyes to Calvary,
To view the cross, where Jesus died for me
How marvelous the grace that caught my falling soul
He looked beyond my fault and saw my need.

I'M GLAD I KNOW WHO JESUS IS

Geron Davis

In a little town of Bethlehem so many years ago,
They told Him there was no room in the inn.
But they had no way of knowing Who they had turned away -
The Lamb of God Who would take away their sins.

I'm glad I know Who Jesus is!
I'm glad I know Who Jesus is!
He's more than just a story;
He is the King of Glory.
I'm glad I know Who Jesus is.

So many people still today don't know who Jesus is;
They've never felt His peace within their souls.
But I want my life to show them how His love can set them free
He's the only One Who can cleanse and make me whole!

I'm glad I know Who Jesus is!
I'm glad I know Who Jesus is!
He's more than just a story;
He is the King of Glory.
I'm glad I know Who Jesus is.

He's the Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End;
He's Counselor, Deliverer to me.
He's the Everlasting Father; He is the King of Glory,
I'm glad I know Who Jesus is!

I'm glad I know Who Jesus is!
I'm glad I know Who Jesus is!
He's more than just a story;
He is the King of Glory.
I'm glad I know Who Jesus is.

FAITHFUL TO THE CROSS

Kenna Turner West and Lee Black

Some follow after fortune and fame
So when their gone the world will remember their name
But I am learning what matters most can’t be held in my hands
And that riches aren’t the measure of the worth of a man
It’s found in being…

Faithful to the cross, Faithful to His call
Laying down my life, surrendering my all
Forgetting what’s behind me and counting it as loss
Faithful to the finish, faithful to the cross.

I want to know I ran my race,
That I fought the faith and kept the faith
And when at last I stand before the throne,
I want to hear Him say, “well done.”
That my heavenly Father would be proud of this son
So may my life be…

Faithful to the cross, Faithful to His call
Laying down my life, surrendering my all
Forgetting what’s behind me and counting it as loss
Faithful to the finish, faithful to the cross.

So let this be the legacy for those who follow after me…

Faithful to the cross, Faithful to His call
Laying down my life, surrendering my all
Forgetting what’s behind me and counting it as loss
Faithful to the finish, faithful to the cross.
