NAIL IT TO THE CROSS

Marcia Henry

Is there something in your heart
Between you and the Lord?
Are you drifting apart--
Not as close anymore?
There's nothing you can do
That He will not forgive
Bring it to the cross
Let it die so you can live.

Nail it to the cross
Get it under the blood
Drown your pain
And every stain
In the mercy flood
Nail it to the cross
Find hope and forgiveness
Kneel at the tree
And walk away free
Nail it to the cross.

Is there a burden you bear
That's got you battered and bound?
Struggling for strength,
Do you long to lay it down?
Don't take another step;
Just kneel where you stand
Lay it at the cross
And take the hammer in your hand.

Nail it to the cross
Get it under the blood
Drown your pain
And every stain
In the mercy flood
Nail it to the cross
Find hope and forgiveness
Kneel at the tree
And walk away free
Nail it to the cross.

RESTORE MY SOUL

Mosie Lister

Lord, You know that I’ve been foolish, I’ve been blind;
I’ve let my doubts and my confusions cloud my mind.
I have walked in my own wisdom; I’ve been wrong
Take my hand and lead me back where I belong

Restore my soul in the valley,
That I might be worthy at last to stand
With Thee on the top of the mountain;
In the valley, restore my soul.

Stripped of all that once I clung to, Lord, I come
Tho’ in your eyes I know I’m nothing, yet I come
With your hand that once was nail-scarred just for me,
Touch me now and make me all that I should be.

Restore my soul in the valley,
That I might be worthy at last to stand
With Thee on the top of the mountain;
In the valley, restore my soul.

MY GOD IS REAL

Kenneth Morris

There are some things I may not know
There are some places I can't go
But I am sure of this one thing
My God is real, for I can feel Him in my soul

My God is real, real in my soul
My God is real, for He has washed and made me whole
His love for me is like pure gold
My God is real, for I can feel Him in my soul

I cannot tell just how I felt
When Jesus washed my sin all away
Oh, but since that day and since that very hour
My God has been real, for I can feel His saving power.

My God is real, real in my soul
My God is real, for He has washed and made me whole
His love for me is like pure gold
My God is real, for I can feel Him in my soul

Some folks may doubt, some folks may scorn
Well, they can all go on, just leave me alone
But as for me, I'll take God's part
My God is real, for I can feel Him in my heart.

My God is real, real in my soul
My God is real for He has washed and made me whole
His love for me is like pure gold
My God is real for I can feel Him in my soul

The Embrace of Grace

Phil Cross

I was stranded alone
There on the road
There on my own way
Then, though I was blinded from love
Someone reminded me of
The path to a better way

I see the road, I see the pathway
I know how to run, to overcome,
To finish the race
I have discovered, uncovered the answer
I found my place
Here in the embrace of grace

Now, I'm never alone
Through faith in the One
Whose home is my homeland
Now burdens of life disappear
I face it all without fear
Holding His righteous hand

I see the road, I see the pathway
I know how to run, to overcome,
To finish the race
I have discovered, uncovered the answer
I found my place
Here in the embrace of grace

SHELTERED IN THE ARMS OF GOD

Dottie Rambo and Jimmy Davis

I feel the touch of hands so kind and tender.
They're leading me in the paths that I must trod.
I'll have no fear for Jesus walks beside me
For I'm sheltered in the arms of God.

So let the storms rage high,
The dark clouds rise,
They don't worry me;
For I'm sheltered safe within the arms of God.
He walks with me,
And naught of earth shall harm me,
For I'm sheltered in the arms of God.

Soon I shall hear the call from heaven's portals
"Come home my child, It's the last mile you must trod"
I'll fall asleep and wake in God's sweet heaven
For I'm sheltered in the arms of God.

So let the storms rage high,
The dark clouds rise,
They don't worry me;
For I'm sheltered safe within the arms of God.
He walks with me,
And naught of earth shall harm me,
For I'm sheltered in the arms of God.

SOMETIMES IT TAKES A MOUNTAIN

Gloria Gaither and Mark Mathes

I faced a mountain,
That I never faced before
That's why I'm calling on you, Lord
I know it's been awhile,
But, Lord, please hear my prayer
I need you like I never have before.

Sometimes it takes a mountain
Sometimes a troubled sea
Sometimes it takes a desert
To get ahold of me
Your Love is so much stronger
Than whatever troubles me
Sometimes it takes a mountain
To trust you and believe

Forgive me, Jesus
I thought I could control
Whatever life would throw my way
But this I will admit
Has brought me to my knees
I need you, Lord, and I'm not ashamed to say

Sometimes it takes a mountain
Sometimes a troubled sea
Sometimes it takes a desert
To get ahold of me
Your Love is so much stronger
Than whatever troubles me
Sometimes it takes a mountain
To trust you and believe

TURN THE PAGE

Jim Brady, Barry Weeks & Tony Wood

Abraham stood looking down
On the son he loved
Tears filled his eyes
Seeing Isaac tied up
Everything seemed hopeless
As the knife was raised
But, oh, turn the page

Pharaoh and his army
Quickly closing in
For Moses and God's children
The road seemed at an end
The Red Sea stood before them
Such a helpless place
But, oh. . .

Turn the page
You won't believe your eyes
See the change
The wonder and surprise
Sometimes before a miracle
Our God sets the stage
To show He will always come through
So turn the page

We'll stand in shadows
On a long, dark night
When our faith is tested
When our soul is tried
But we can trust there's life
Beyond each heartache
Oh. . .

Turn the page
You won't believe your eyes
See the change
The wonder and surprise
Sometimes before a miracle
Our God sets the stage
To show He will always come through
So turn the page

From the lions' den
To the fiery furnace
Or when His son was in the grave
He is Lord of the impossible
So hold on; have faith

Turn the page
You won't believe your eyes
See the change
The wonder and surprise
Sometimes before a miracle
Our God sets the stage
To show He will always come through
So turn the page

THE TOUCH OF THE MASTER'S HAND

Myra Brooks Welch and John Kramp

Well, it was battered and scared,
And the auctioneer felt it was hardly worth his while,
To waste much time on the old violin but he held it up with a smile,
"Well, it sure ain't much but it's all we got left
I guess we aught to sell it to,
Oh, now who'll start the bid on this old violin?
Just one more and we'll be through."

And then he cried, "One, give me one dollar, Who'll make it two?
Only two dollars; who'll make it three?
Three dollars twice; now that's a good price,
Now who's gonna bid for me?
Raise up your hand now; don't wait any longer
The auctions about to end,
Who's got four, just one dollar more
To bid on this old violin?"

Well, the air was hot and the people stood around
As the sun was setting low,
From the back of the crowd a gray-haired man,
Came forward and picked up the bow,
He wiped the dust from the old violin, then he tightened up the strings,
Then he played out a melody pure and sweet, sweeter than the angels sing,

And then the music stopped and the auctioneer,
With a voice that was quiet and low,
He said, "Now what am I bid for this old violin?"
And he held it up with a bow.

And then he cried out, "One, give me, one thousand, Who'll make it two?
Only two thousand; who'll make it three?
Three thousand twice; you know, that's a good price,
Come on, who's gonna bid for me?"
And the people cried out, "What made the change? We don't understand,"
Then the auctioneer stopped and he said with a smile,
"It was the touch of the Master's hand."

You know there's many a man with his life out of tune,
Battered and scared with sin
And he's auctioned cheap to a thankless world
Much like that old violin,
Oh, but then the Master comes,
And that old foolish crowd they never understand,
The worth of a soul and the change that is wrought,
Just by one touch of the Masters hand.

HEAL THE WOUND

Clint Lagerberg

I used to wish that I could rewrite history
I used to dream that each mistake could be erased
Then I could just pretend
I never knew me back then

I used to pray that You would take this shame away
Hide all the evidence of who I've been
But it's the memory of The place You brought me from
That keeps me on my knees
And even though I'm free

Heal the wound but leave the scar
A reminder of how merciful You are
I am broken, torn apart
Take the pieces of this heart
And heal the wound but leave the scar

I have not lived a life that boasts of anything
I don't take pride in what I bring
But I'll build an altar with the rubble that You've found me in
And every stone will sing
Of what You can redeem

Heal the wound but leave the scar
A reminder of how merciful You are
I am broken, torn apart
Take the pieces of this heart
And heal the wound but leave the scar

Don't let me forget
Everything You've done for me
Don't let me forget
The beauty in the suffering

Heal the wound but leave the scar
A reminder of how merciful You are
I am broken, torn apart
Take the pieces of this heart
And heal the wound but leave the scar

THROUGH THE VALLEY

Kelly Archer, Jeremy Stover and Jeff Silvey

So you're looking for a way to quench your thirst
To ease your mind, to cool the burn
It's hard to face the road you're going down
And you're tempted to turn around
Don't give up; just keep on putting one foot in front of the other
And just keep walking

Through the valley, up the mountain,
Toward the river, sweet redemption,
It's a measure of strength, a shadow of grace, a matter of faith
That'll keep you going.
Just gotta keep on, gotta keep on, keep on movin'
Through the valley

Love is waiting on the other side
It calls your name; don't break your stride.
Freedom's gonna taste twice as sweet
When you get to where you need to be
Don't lose hope; just hold on with all of your heart
And just keep praying

Through the valley, up the mountain,
Toward the river, sweet redemption,
It's a measure of strength, a shadow of grace, a matter of faith
That'll keep you going.
Just gotta keep on, gotta keep on movin'
Through the valley

SWEET PEACE

When the storms are raging around me,
When the clouds seem black as the night
Then I feel His presence surround me,
And I know everything is all right.

He gives me sweet peace when I'm down in the valley,
Beside still water He leads me.
He restoreth my soul, my cup runneth over,
The kind Shepherd leads to pastures of green,
And there He gives me sweet peace.

He gives me peace beyond understanding,
With goodness and mercy I'm blessed,
With His presence, there's joy everlasting,
With His love, my soul is at rest

He gives me sweet peace when I'm down in the valley,
Beside still water He leads me.
He restoreth my soul, my cup runneth over,
The kind Shepherd leads to pastures of green,
And there He gives me sweet peace.

Peace, peace, wonderful peace,
Coming down from the Father above,
He restoreth my soul, my cup runneth over,
The kind Shepherd leads to pastures of green,
And there He gives me sweet peace.
Wonderful peace.

HE LEADETH ME

Joseph Gilmore and William Bradbury

He leadeth me, O bless'd thought!
O words with heavenly comfort fraught!
Whate'er I do, where'er I be
Still 'tis God's hand that leadeth me.

He leadeth me, He leadeth me,
By His own hand He leadeth me;
His faithful follower I would be,
For by His hand He leadeth me.

Sometimes mid scenes of deepest gloom,
Sometimes where Eden's bowers bloom,
By waters still, over troubled sea,
Still 'tis His hand that leadeth me.

He leadeth me, He leadeth me,
By His own hand He leadeth me;
His faithful follower I would be,
For by His hand He leadeth me.

Lord, I would place my hand in Thine,
Nor ever murmur nor repine;
Content, whatever lot I see,
Since 'tis my God that leadeth me.

He leadeth me, He leadeth me,
By His own hand He leadeth me;
His faithful follower I would be,
For by His hand He leadeth me.

And when my task on earth is done,
When by Thy grace the victory's won,
E'en death's cold wave I will not flee,
Since God through Jordan leadeth me.

He leadeth me, He leadeth me,
By His own hand He leadeth me;
His faithful follower I would be,
For by His hand He leadeth me.

GOD'S BEEN GOOD

Sue C. & Belinda Smith

Lately I've been looking back
Along this winding road
To the old familiar markers
Of the mercies I have known
I know it may sound simple
But it's more than a cliche
There's no better way to tell you
Than to say. . .

God's been good in my life
I feel blessed beyond my wildest dreams
As I go to sleep each night
And though I've had my share of hard times
I wouldn't change them if I could
'Cause through it all, God's been good

Times replay and I can see
That I've cried some bitter tears
But I've felt His arms around me
As I faced my greatest fears
I've had more gains than losses
And I've known more joy than hurt
As His grace rolls down upon me undeserved

God's been good in my life
I feel blessed beyond my wildest dreams
As I go to sleep each night
And though I've had my share of hard times
I wouldn't change them if I could
'Cause through it all, God's been good

For God has been my Father,
My Savior and my Friend
His love was my beginning
And His love will be my end
I could spend forever trying
To tell you everything He is
But the best way that I can say it is this. . .

God's been good in my life
I feel blessed beyond my wildest dreams
As I go to sleep each night
And though I've had my share of hard times
I wouldn't change them if I could
'Cause through it all, God's been good

TURN YOUR EYES UPON JESUS

Helen Lemmel

O soul, are you weary and troubled?
No light in the darkness you see?
There’s a light for a look at the Savior,
And life more abundant and free!

Turn your eyes upon Jesus,
Look full in His wonderful face,
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim,
In the light of His glory and grace.

Through death into life everlasting
He passed, and we follow Him there;
Over us sin no more hath dominion—
For more than conquerors we are!

Turn your eyes upon Jesus,
Look full in His wonderful face,
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim,
In the light of His glory and grace.

His Word shall not fail you—He promised;
Believe Him, and all will be well:
Then go to a world that is dying,
His perfect salvation to tell!

Turn your eyes upon Jesus,
Look full in His wonderful face,
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim,
In the light of His glory and grace.

PLAIN OL' EVERYDAY PEOPLE

Rodney Griffin

He pushed his boat way out into the water
Ready to fish today like every other
When he heard a voice saying, "Peter, come follow me"
He turned around to see who was speaking
It was the holy humble Galilean
Looking for a volunteer to help a blinded heart to see

God uses plain ol' everyday people
To help folks find their way toward the steeple
So they can come receive forgiveness for every sin
So, if you are an everyday person
He has a job, and only you can work it
For plain ol' everyday people there's a crown to win

Moses led some sheep across the desert
His only task was keeping them together
When he heard a voice say, "You're standing on holy ground"
He turned aside to see who was 'a talkin'
He recognized the voice of God the Father
Say, "I'm looking for a shepherd to come and lead my people out"

Now, you may think that you are not important
That God doesn't need a thing you have to offer
But, if you are his child, He has something very special for you to do
Trust Him and you'll find the strength and wisdom
To lead others on into His kingdom
Right where you are is where He wants to use you

God uses plain ol' everyday people
To help folks find their way toward the steeple
So they can come receive forgiveness for every sin
So, if you are an everyday person
He has a job, and only you can work it
For plain ol' everyday people there's a crown to win

HIS LIFE FOR MINE

Rebecca Peck

His heart was broken, mine was mended
He became sin, now I am clean.
The cross He carried bore my burden.
The nails that held Him set me free.

His life for mine, His life for mine
How could it ever be?
That He would die, God's Son would die
To save a retch like me
What love divine, He gave his life for mine.

His scars of suffering brought me healing
He spilled his blood to fill my soul.
His crown of thorns made me royalty
His sorrow gave me joy untold

His life for mine, His life for mine
How could it ever be?
That He would die, God's Son would die
To save a retch like me
What love divine, He gave his life for mine.

He was despised and rejected,
Stripped of his garments and oppressed
I am loved and accepted,
And I wear a robe of righteousness

His life for mine, His life for mine
How could it ever be?
That He would die, God's Son would die
To save a retch like me
What love divine, He gave his life for mine.

STEPPING OUT

Abraham believed the holy promise
Noah had the faith to build an ark
Elijah called the fire down from Heaven
Daniel trusted God with all his heart
Moses led God's children out of Egypt
Following The One who knows the way
Peter had the courage to start walking
And just like them I'm stepping out in faith

I'm stepping out in faith; I'm walking on the water
Trusting in The Father; knowing He'll be with me all the way
I'm stepping out in faith though winds will blow against me
I will claim the victory; resting in His all sufficient grace
I'm stepping out, stepping out in faith

Oh, I don't have to fear what comes tomorrow
Or know what exactly what the future holds
For The God of all creation goes before me
And I can rest assured He's in control
So I'll just keep a walkin' on this journey
Following The One who knows the way
And though sometimes my faith may start to waver
I'll take the leap. I'm stepping out in faith

I'm stepping out in faith; I'm walking on the water
Trusting in The Father; knowing He'll be with me all the way
I'm stepping out in faith though winds will blow against me
I will claim the victory; resting in His all sufficient grace
I'm stepping out, stepping out in faith

GO AHEAD AND CRY

Mark Bishop

The sunshine feels so good today,
So much sweeter than yesterday
When those storm clouds...had me so far down.
One of those days when I'd had enough.
I couldn't tell which way was up.
Holding back the tears...so that no one hears.
Now I don't know if an angel came my way,
But I heard a whisper...telling me...that everything's okay

Go ahead and cry...
Believing that Jesus...sees us.
Pray with all your might...
When you're hurting, He's working.
With a whisper He will quiet all your fears.
So go ahead and cry.
He's on His way to wipe away your tears.

When the clouds obscure the light of day,
Have you ever felt you've lost your way?
And that no one cares...well we've all been there.
But I know someone you can tell,
He heard the woman at the well,
And the lame man, too...
Well He can still hear you.
So it's not time to give in when you've come so far.
Take it from...all of us who've...been right where you are.

Go ahead and cry...
Believing that Jesus...sees us.
Pray with all your might...
When you're hurting, He's working.
With a whisper He will quiet all your fears.
So go ahead and cry.
He's on His way to wipe away your tears.

THOU, O LORD

Many are they increased that trouble me,
Many are they that rise up against me.
Many there be which say of my soul,
"There is no help for him in God."

But Thou, O Lord, are a Shield for me,
My Glory and the Lifter of my head.
Thou, O Lord, are a Shield for me,
My Glory and the Lifter of my head.

I cried unto the Lord with my voice,
And He heard me out of His holy hill.
I laid me down and slept and awaked,
For the Lord sustained, for He sustained me.

But Thou, O Lord, are a Shield for me,
My Glory and the Lifter of my head.
Thou, O Lord, are a Shield for me,

WHAT ABOUT NOW?

Jim Brady, Barry Weeks, Tony Wood

You may tell me a date and tell of a place
When you walked an aisle, and you first prayed
And you’ll quickly point to that moment in time
If someone should ask what God’s done in your life

I’m sure you’d agree that life’s where He lives
There will be proof if we’re truly His
So please hear my heart and know I’m your friend
But please take this moment to look deep within
Are you loving God and hating your sin?
Please don’t depend on some year way back when

What about now? What about now?
Is there evidence seen by those you’re around?
That He’s your Savior and your Lord beyond any doubt
Not just somewhere in your past somehow
What about now?

Do you take time to know Him? Is your spirit stirred
To hear and obey His Holy Word?
I’m not here to judge or to cause any doubt
Just want you to look at the faith you live out
It’s not about a prayer you repeated one time
Joining a church or tears that you’ve cried

What about now? What about now?
Is there evidence seen by those you’re around?
That He’s your Savior and your Lord beyond any doubt
Not just somewhere in your past somehow
What about now?

Do you love God and others? Are you drawn to His Word?
Do you feel convicted of sin? Are you sharing the Good News?
Forsaking what’s wrong? Have you stood faithful and strong?

What about now? What about now?
Is there evidence seen by those you’re around?
That He’s your Savior and your Lord beyond any doubt
Not just somewhere in your past somehow
What about now?

YOU DO ALL THINGS WELL

Jason Jamison, Mike Donehey, Jeff Owen, Ruben Juarez, Brendon Shirley

Father in Heaven, hear this simple prayer
Get us through the night and fill up our despair
Pain has come and taught us to fear
We’re gonna need some grace now to fill the air
‘Cause in the twilight, we need eyes to see
How You’re working beauty even out of ugly things

You do all things
You do all things
You do all things well
You do all things
You do all things
You do all things well

Father, among us, keep us in Your arms
There’s evil all around us and we’re trying to hold on
Just to know that You’re still good
And that Your love is alive
Oh, let us cling to Jesus and sing tonight

You do all things
You do all things
You do all things well
You do all things
You do all things
You do all things well

You break me to bind me
You hurt me, Lord, to heal me
You cut me to touch me
You died to revive me
You break me to bind me
You hurt me, Lord, to heal me
You cut me to touch me
You died to revive me

You do all things
You do all things
You do all things well
You do all things
You do all things
