WHOM SHALL I FEAR?

Chris Tomlin, Ed Cash and Scott Cash

You hear me when I call
You are my morning song
Though darkness fills the night
It cannot hide the light
Whom shall I fear

You crush the enemy
Underneath my feet
You are my sword and shield
Though troubles linger still
Whom shall I fear

I know who goes before me
I know who stands behind
The God of angel armies
Is always by my side
The one who reigns forever
He is a friend of mine
The God of angel armies
Is always by my side

My strength is in Your name
For You alone can save
You will deliver me
Yours is the victory
Whom shall I fear
Whom shall I fear

I know who goes before me
I know who stands behind
The God of angel armies
Is always by my side
The one who reigns forever
He is a friend of mine
The God of angel armies
Is always by my side

And nothing formed against me shall stand
You hold the whole world in Your hands
I'm holding on to Your promises

I know who goes before me
I know who stands behind
The God of angel armies
Is always by my side
The one who reigns forever
He is a friend of mine
The God of angel armies
Is always by my side

I'M NOT GIVIN' UP

Squire E. Parsons, Jr.

Well, I'm not givin' up,
No, I'm not turnin' 'round,
By the grace of God
I'll win a shinin' crown someday;
Well, I'll keep holdin' on
To that nail-scarred hand,
I'm not givin' up,
No, I'll keep holdin' on.

I've been walkin' thru the valley,
Thru this vale of tears,
At times I've even questioned
Even if my Lord was near,
Many times that old tempter
Says, "Why not turn around?
You can't go any farther,
You're just losin' ground."

But, I'm not givin' up,
No, I'm not turnin' 'round,
By the grace of God
I'll win a shinin' crown someday;
Well, I'll keep holdin' on
To that nail-scarred hand,
I'm not givin' up,
No, I'll keep holdin' on.

Would you mind to tell me?
There's been something botherin' me.
Why is it that old devil
Just won't let God's children be?
You see He has purposed and determined
To get right in the way,
And turn us from the way of life
And lead our souls astray.

But, I'm not givin' up,
No, I'm not turnin' 'round,
By the grace of God
I'll win a shinin' crown someday;
Well, I'll keep holdin' on
To that nail-scarred hand,
I'm not givin' up,
No, I'll keep holdin' on.

THERE IS A REMEDY

Annie McRae

For the world that's lost in darkness
For the saint who's gone astray
For the sinner, blind but searching
For the child in need of faith
For the homeless and forsaken
For the hungry and the cold
For the prisoner and the captive
For the young and for the old

There is a remedy
For every sin-sick soul
There is a cure for all
All the pain and hurt and wrong
There is a solution
For all the problems deep inside
There is a remedy
And His name is Jesus Christ

For the bitter, for the lonely
For the weary and afraid
For the burdened and frustrated
The discouraged and dismayed
For the mocked and persecuted
For the battered, for the wronged
For the scarred and for the wounded
For the weak and for the strong

There is a remedy
For every sin-sick soul
There is a cure for all
All the pain and hurt and wrong
There is a solution
For all the problems deep inside
There is a remedy
And His name is Jesus Christ

For every tribe and every nation
For every color, every race
For every tongue and every language
For every time and every place
There's an answer to the questions
There is love for all the hate
There's a healer for the dying
He's the Way, the Truth, the Light.

There is a remedy
For every sin-sick soul
There is a cure for all
All the pain and hurt and wrong
There is a solution
For all the problems deep inside
There is a remedy
And His name is Jesus Christ

THE EMPTY TOMB SAYS IT ALL

Daryl Petersheim

A stone can be found at a place in the ground
Where the body of Jesus was laid
It was never inscribed with words to describe
The power that grave still displays
For this monument where Jesus was sent
Wasn’t carved with a story of death
It simply reveals a grave no longer sealed
And the empty tomb says the rest

No clever inscription could ever explain
What happened that wonderful day
And no epitaph could ever contain
The words such a message should say
No man-made description could ever describe
What’s spoken by the empty walls
The stone’s rolled aside with nothing inscribed
But the empty tomb says it all

No black granite wall could hold nearly all
The names of our Savior and Lord
And no mountain face would have enough space
For one line of His love to record
No one could relate to the numberless dates
For He has no beginning or end
The story goes on--His body is gone
And the tomb is empty again

No clever inscription could ever explain
What happened that wonderful day
And no epitaph could ever contain
The words such a message should say
No man-made description could ever describe
What’s spoken by the empty walls
The stone’s rolled aside with nothing inscribed
But the empty tomb says it all

THAT'S WHY I LOVE TO CALL HIS NAME

I LOVE TO CALL ( I love to call on Jesus' name)
BECAUSE ( because He's been so good to me)
OH HE SAID HE WOULD ( He said He would take care of me)
I KNOW THE MAN ( I know that He has set me free)
AND THAT IS WHY ( that is why I love to call His name)
OH YEAH ( I know it won't be in vain)
AND THAT'S WHY ( that's why)
THAT'S WHY ( that's why)
THAT IS WHY ( that's why I love to call His name)

You know the Lord, He moves in mysterious ways
His wonders to perform
You know He plants His footsteps upon the sea
And He rides on every storm
Well, He speaks to my needs when my valley is rough
Oh, I've got Jesus and that's enough
AND THAT'S WHY ( that's why)
THAT'S WHY ( that's why)
THAT IS WHY (that's why I love to call His name)

I LOVE TO CALL ( I love to call on Jesus' name)
BECAUSE ( because He's been so good to me)
OH HE SAID HE WOULD ( He said He would take care of me)
I KNOW THE MAN ( I know that He has set me free)
AND THAT IS WHY ( that is why I love to call His name)
OH YEAH ( I know it won't be in vain)
AND THAT'S WHY ( that's why)
THAT'S WHY ( that's why)
THAT IS WHY ( that's why I love to call His name)

HE'S BEEN MY WAY NOW ( that's why I love to call His name)
MY SWORD IN MY BATTLE ( that's why I love to call His name)
HE'S BEEN MY ROCK NOW ( that's why I love to call His name)
MY ROCK IN A WEARY LAND  ( that's why I love to call His name)
WELL, HE'S BEEN MY SHEPHERD  ( that's why I love to call His name)
SHEPHERD IN TIME OF A STORM ( that's why I love to call His name)
I WANNA WALK ( walk, walk, walk)
I WANNA TALK ( talk, talk, talk)
SING ( sing, sing, sing)
SHOUT ( shout, shout, shout)
THAT IS WHY ( that's why)
THAT IS WHY ( that's why)
THAT IS WHY ( that's why I love to call His name)

MORE THAN I EVER ASKED FOR

Squire E. Parsons, Jr.

Satan said, "This time you've done it
Now you have gone too far
How could the Lord receive you now
You are ruined now and scarred"
But something deep inside of me
Said, "Child, you're still my own
My love for you is still the same
So, child, just come back home

He gave me more than I ever asked for
More than I ever dreamed
More than I could imagine
When I came back home to Him
When I asked Him to forgive me
He gave me a robe and a ring
I said make me as one of your servants
But He made me a child of the King

I thought about the years I'd wasted
As I walked the homeward way
And I rehearsed time and time
All the words that I would say
But when I finally climbed the last long hill
My Father I did see
Running with His arms open wide
In love to welcome me

He gave me more than I ever asked for
More than I ever dreamed
More than I could imagine
When I came back home to Him
When I asked Him to forgive me
He gave me a robe and a ring
I said make me as one of your servants
But He made me a child of the King

THE OLD TIME WAY

There are so many things that have changed today
And some have been for the best, but I would like to say
There is one thing you can't improve upon
I like the old time way of praising the Lord

I like to hear that old time singing,
I like to see the saints praising the Lord
I like to feel that old time Holy Power moving in my soul
Well, it makes me want to do my very best to live right
Makes me glad to know I'm ready for that heavenly flight
Makes me want to walk the straight and narrow way
I like the old time way of praising the Lord

Whatever happened to that old time Holy Book
That would make you walk right and look the way you should look
They've changed it around, explained it away
I like the old time way of praising the Lord

I like to hear that old time singing,
I like to see the saints praising the Lord
I like to feel that old time Holy Power moving in my soul
Well, it makes me want to do my very best to live right
Makes me glad to know I'm ready for that heavenly flight
Makes me want to walk the straight and narrow way
I like the old time way of praising the Lord

PUT IT RIGHT THERE

Gerald Crabb

He came running in the house, busting through the door
Crying out of control as he fell to the floor
He said, “Dad, I’m so sorry,
But there’s something you must know.”
His body was shaking, struggling to his feet
Confessing his addiction, screaming for relief
He pulled from his pocket, the drugs
That had taken his control
Dad reached out his hand and he said...

Put it right there, in the palm of my hand
I know it’s gonna hurt, but trust me to the end
You will be free and I will be there
Together, we will stand, looking back at what you feared
I’m reaching out my hand; I’ll do anything I can
Put it right there

Gathered on a hillside near a middle-eastern town
A guiltless man would soon die in a crowd of evil men
As they laid Him on the brutal cross
I wonder what went through His mind
He wasn’t being crucified for anything He’d done
He was laying down His own life for the lives of everyone
As that soldier picked up the spike,
And he raised the hammer high
I wonder if Jesus said to that man...

Put it right there, in the palm of my hand
I know it’s gonna hurt, but trust me to the end
You will be free and I will be there
Together, we will stand, looking back at what you feared
I’m reaching out my hand; I’ll do anything I can
Put it right there

HE'LL CARRY ME

Rodney Griffin

HE TOOK THE LIFELESS BODY DOWN FROM CALVARY.
STRUGGLED JUST TO STAND BENEATH THE LOAD
THE BLOOD SPILLED ON HIS HANDS AND ON HIS CLOTHING
STILL JOSEPH SANG AS HE STUMBLED DOWN THE ROAD.

I'LL CARRY HIM UPON MY SHOULDER.
I'LL BEAR THE MARKS, ENDURE THE SHAME.
I'LL SERVE MY FRIEND, 'TIL LIFE IS OVER
AND THAT IS WHEN THE WORLD WILL SEE,
HE'LL CARRY ME.

WITH EVERY STEP HIS MIND REPLAYED THE MEMORY
OF THE DAY THE LORD HAD MADE HIS LIFE ANEW.
YET THIS LOAD ON JOSEPH'S BACK WAS NOT SO HEAVY
COMPARED TO THE PROMISE THAT WAS WAITING AT THE TOMB.

I, TOO, HAVE WALKED BENEATH A HEAVY BURDEN,
STUMBLED DOWN A DARK AND LONELY ROAD
TRYING HARD NOT TO BE DISCOURAGED
KNOWING VICTORY AWAITS WHEN I REACH HOME.

I'LL CARRY HIM UPON MY SHOULDER.
I'LL BEAR THE MARKS, ENDURE THE SHAME.
I'LL SERVE MY FRIEND, 'TIL LIFE IS OVER
AND THAT IS WHEN THE WORLD WILL SEE,
HE'LL CARRY ME.

HE'LL CARRY ME WHEN HE CALLS ME FROM MY SLEEPING
HE'LL CARRY ME TOWARDS THE LAND OF PERFECT DAY
ACROSS THE GOLDEN VEIL INTO THE GLORY
WHERE HE'LL SET ME SAFELY DOWN INSIDE THE GATE
UNTIL THEN I'LL STRIVE TO WALK AND NOT GROW WEARY
I'LL GLADLY BEAR MY CROSS FOR ALL THE WORLD TO SEE
I'LL COUNT IT JOY TO CARRY CHRIST MY SAVIOR
FOR VERY SOON, HE'LL CARRY ME.

ALL ALONG

Rebecca J. Peck & Mark Lanier

Time just drifts away as I look back on the years
Of memories of happiness and bitter tears
Through it all there is a common thread
That cannot be ignored
You were there,
Teaching me to be your servant, Lord

All along Your hand has been guiding me
Shaping my life to be a beautiful song
All along You've led me through
Things that you knew would make me strong
Your love has been there all along

Every joy and pain had a reason of its own
And now I realize I was not alone
The changing seasons of my life
Were not left up to chance
Lord, I know You were working
To fulfill your plan

All along Your hand has been guiding me
Shaping my life to be a beautiful song
All along You've led me through
Things that you knew would make me strong
Your love has been there all along

Tomorrow when I turn around
And look back at today
I will understand Your purpose
And my thankful heart will say

All along Your hand has been guiding me
Shaping my life to be a beautiful song
All along You've led me through
Things that you knew would make me strong
Your love has been there all along

I WANT TO BE JUST LIKE YOU

Joy Becker & Dan Dean

He climbs in my lap for a goodnight hug
He calls me "Dad" and I call him "Bub"
With his faded old pillow and a bear named Pooh
He snuggles up close and says, "I want to be like you"
I tuck him in bed and I kiss him goodnight
Trippin' over the toys as I turn out the light
And I whisper a prayer that someday he'll see
He's got a father in God 'cause he's seen Jesus in me

Lord, I want to be just like You
'Cause he wants to be just like me
I want to be a holy example
For his innocent eyes to see
Help me be a living Bible, Lord
That my little boy can read
I want to be just like You
'Cause he wants to be like me

Got to admit I've got so far to go
Make so many mistakes, and I'm sure that You know
Sometimes it seems no matter how hard I try
With all the pressures in life I just can't get it all right
But I'm trying so hard to learn from the best
Being patient and kind, filled with Your tenderness
'Cause I know that he'll learn from the things that he sees
And the Jesus he finds will be the Jesus in me

Lord, I want to be just like You
'Cause he wants to be just like me
I want to be a holy example
For his innocent eyes to see
Help me be a living Bible, Lord
That my little boy can read
I want to be just like You
'Cause he wants to be like me

Right now from where he stands I may seem mighty tall
But it's only 'cause I'm learning from the best Father of them all

Lord, I want to be just like You
'Cause he wants to be just like me
I want to be a holy example
For his innocent eyes to see
Help me be a living Bible, Lord
That my little boy can read
I want to be just like You
'Cause he wants to be like me

THE SHEPHERD'S CALL

Gerald Crabb

I wandered far from the fold where I was safe.
It wasn't long til I found I'd lost my way.
I cried with fear as the night began to fall.
One more lost lamb, but I heard the Shepherd's call.

He saw my steps as they walked right into the dark.
Though I went astray, I never once left his heart.
That night long ago, how I still recall
When I lost my way, I heard the Shepherd's call.

He left the fold to search out one that strayed.
Left ninety-nine for there was one to be saved.
There on that ledge, one-step would have ended it all.
But, I felt a hand, and I heard the Shepherd's Call.

He saw my steps as they walked right into the dark.
Though I went astray, I never once left his heart.
That night long ago, how I still recall
When I lost my way, I heard the Shepherd's call.

BEFORE THE MORNING

Ben Glover and Josh Wilson

Do you wonder why you have to
Feel the things that hurt you
If there’s a God who loves you
Where is He now
Maybe there are things you can’t see
And all those things are happening
To bring a better ending
Someday, somehow, you’ll see - you’ll see

Would you dare, would you dare to believe
That you still have a reason to sing
'Cause the pain that you’ve been feeling
It can’t compare to the joy that’s coming
So hold on; you gotta wait for the light
Press on and just fight the good fight
'Cause the pain that you’ve been feeling
It’s just the dark before the morning

My friend you know how this all ends
You know where you’re going
You just don’t know how you’ll get there
So say a prayer
And hold on cause there’s good for those who love God
But life is not a snapshot
It might take a little time but you’ll see the bigger picture

Would you dare, would you dare to believe
That you still have a reason to sing
'Cause the pain that you’ve been feeling
It can’t compare to the joy that’s coming
So hold on; you gotta wait for the light
Press on and just fight the good fight
'Cause the pain that you’ve been feeling
It’s just the dark before the morning

Once you feel the weight of glory
All your pain will fade to memory
It’s just the hurt before the healing
Oh the pain that you’ve been feeling
It’s just the dark before the morning
