I’m Listening for the Call

Mark Bishop

When I was a little boy, I heard about the last days
Some morning when the Lord will come again
I remember how the saints of old sang about his coming
Guess I didn’t think that much about it then

Soon the years took me far away and church became a memory
I lived my life believing they were wrong
But everyday I live I see those prophesies fulfilling
By the signs of the times, I believe it won’t be long

In the east, on a cloud
He’ll be coming for His children
And the monuments of sin will surely fall
I can see by the Word that the day is drawing nearer
I’m not looking for the signs anymore
I’m listening for the call

Take a look in the Bible and you’ll read of war and famine
You’ll read about when men will fall away
Two thousand years ago upon the pages that was written
But I’m telling you it sounds just like today

In the east, on a cloud
He’ll be coming for His children
And the monuments of sin will surely fall
I can see by the Word that the day is drawing nearer
I’m not looking for the signs anymore
I’m listening for the call

Till the Storm Passes By

Charlotte Baker

Out on the waters, the storm raging high,
The waters around them were troubled that night,
Fear filled their hearts; they felt they would die,
They failed to remember that the Master was nigh,
He spoke the words, and the winds all stood still
Even the waters obeyed his will,
He calmed their storm like He will mine,
If I just remember He lives deep inside.

Why should I worry? why should I fear,
When the very same Jesus, He's always near,
He lives in my heart, and He hears when I cry,
I’ll call on His name till the storm passes by.

We read in the Bible how He walked with them,
Brought light to the darkness when the way grew dim,
How great it would be to have His footsteps in mine,
And walk with the Master all of the time,
And when trials come, and death seems so nigh,
I’ll call on the Master; I know He’ll get there on time,
And when sickness comes, and my body’s in pain
All I have to do is call on his name.

Why should I worry? why should I fear,
When the very same Jesus, He's always near,
He lives in my heart, and He hears when I cry,
I’ll call on His name till the storm passes by.

HE UNDERSTANDS MY TEARS

Sonya Isaacs Surrett & Rebecca Isaacs Bowman

It's hard to believe He still loves me
Knowing how wrong I have been
When all I can say is, "I'm sorry"
When all I can feel is my sin

He understands when all I can do is cry
He feels the hurt that no one can see down inside
And when the words get in the way
I know He stills hears
For He understands my tears

You may not believe that I'm broken
For all you can see is my smile
Oh, but He hears the heart that's unspoken
And He gives me strength through each trial

He understands when all I can do is cry
He feels the hurt that no one can see down inside
And when the words get in the way
I know He stills hears
For He understands my tears

A LIFE LESS THAN A CHILD OF THE KING

Author Unknown

Momma always said, "Don't sweat the small stuff."
When facing life, that's easier said than done.
I guess you could describe me as a worrier.
I never let myself have too much fun.

But if my Father clothes the lilies of the valleys
And He feeds the tiny sparrows that I hear sing,
There's no reason in this world I should be living
A life less than a child of the King.

Problems of this life--they always get me down;
The most indecisive girl you've ever seen.
I buckle under the weight of life's decisions,
And walk around like I am on a losing team.

But if my Father clothes the lilies of the valleys
And He feeds the tiny sparrows that I hear sing,
There's no reason in this world I should be living
A life less than a child of the King.

FATHER

Till the last breath I take
The last beat of my heart
Till the last step that leads
Into Your arms
I will spend all my days
Giving You praise,
Father

Till the last drop of rain
Falls from the skies
Till the last sun has set
Till the oceans are dry
I will spend all my days
Giving You praise,
Father

You are the first
You are the last
The beginning and ending of days
You are the Daystar that constantly shines
Perfect in all of Your ways.

Till the last melody
And the last note has played
Till the last song is sung
And the music all fades
I will spend all my days
Giving You praise,
Father

Till the last sound is heard
And the last echo dies
Till the day You appear
And we all rise
I will spend all my days
Giving You praise,
Father

HE IS TO ME

 Rodney Griffin

For many years we've heard about this Man from Galilee
The Bible tells that Jesus was His name
Some will say that He was just a man like you and me
There was no greater reason why He came
But if I could I'd take you to a humble little place
Where these blinded eyes were made to see
He opened up my heart, and then He saved me by His Grace
And now He means everything to me

He is to me (He is to me) my Anchor
He is to me (He is to me) my Rock
He is to me my Savior
In Whom I place my trust
He is to me (He is to me) my Comfort
He is to me (He is to me) my Joy
He is to me my Master
He is to me my Lord

He hung upon a cruel Roman cross at Calvary
To pay for all the crimes He had not done
It was there He bought eternal life for you and me
Making sure the victory was won
How could I describe to you the blessing that He is?
I have never felt this loved before
All I know is now I strive to be completely His
And every day He means even more

He is to me (He is to me) my Anchor
He is to me (He is to me) my Rock
He is to me my Savior
In Whom I place my trust
He is to me (He is to me) my Comfort
He is to me (He is to me) my Joy
He is to me my Master
He is to me my Lord

THERE IS A WAY

David Staton

In His will there is a way;
When we trust Him and obey,
There's not a wall that cannot
Crumble to the ground.
We don't have to sit there hoping,
'Cause when we knock, that door will open.
In His perfect will, I know there is a way.

Sometimes I sit around and wonder how
The Lord is ever gonna figure out
How to get me through the problems that I face.
He never gives us more than we can bear,
We cast on Him our every care,
And without a doubt, I know He'll make a way.

In His will there is a way;
When we trust Him and obey,
There's not a wall that cannot
Crumble to the ground.
We don't have to sit there hoping,
'Cause when we knock, that door will open.
In His perfect will, I know there is a way.

When problems seem to get the best of me,
And things go wrong as far as I can see,
I just steal away somewhere and start to pray.
I know that I am His and He is mine,
And when I seek, you know I always find
Every answer when I call upon His name.

In His will there is a way;
When we trust Him and obey,
There's not a wall that cannot
Crumble to the ground.
We don't have to sit there hoping,
'Cause when we knock, that door will open.
In His perfect will, I know there is a way.

TEACH ME TO PRAY, LORD

Albert Simpson Reitz

Teach me to pray, Lord, teach me to pray;
This is my heart-cry day unto day;
 I long to know Thy will and Thy way;
Teach me to pray, Lord, teach me to pray.

Living in Thee, Lord, and Thou in me,
Constant abiding, this is my plea;
Grant me Thy power, boundless and free,
Power with men and power with Thee.

Power in prayer, Lord, power in prayer!
Here ’mid earth’s sin and sorrow and care,
Men lost and dying, souls in despair;
O give me power, power in prayer!

My weakened will, Lord, Thou canst renew;
My sinful nature Thou canst subdue;
Fill me just now with power anew;
Power to pray and power to do!

Teach me to pray, Lord, teach me to pray;
Thou art my pattern day unto day;
Thou art my surety, now and for aye;
Teach me to pray, Lord, teach me to pray.

Living in Thee, Lord, and Thou in me,
Constant abiding, this is my plea;
Grant me Thy power, boundless and free,
Power with men and power with Thee.

YOU CAN'T ASK TOO MUCH OF MY GOD

Mark Bishop

When David gathered a handful of stones,
And where the soldiers had fallen, he waited alone.
With a prayer and a little rock, the giant fell right on the spot.
That's what David prayed for, and that's what David got.
You can't ask too much of my God.
You can't ask too much of my God.

There was a woman drawing water from a well.
So many regrets, so often she'd failed.
Jesus knew where she had been; still He forgave her of her sin.
In her life began to flow, living water for the soul.
You can't ask too much of my God.
You can't ask too much of my God.

When you're broken
And you cannot find the peace of mind

That seems to leave you behind
Have you spoken to the God of Abraham, the Great I Am?
He's greater than any problem you've got.
And you can't ask too much of my God.
No, you can't ask too much of my God.

Upon the three Hebrew children God smiled.
And when Sarah was ninety, God gave her a child.
Now I believe that just as then, He’s here to move like that again.
He has a miracle to do; He only needs to hear from you.
And you can't ask too much of my God.
No you can't ask too much of my God.

When you're broken
And you cannot find the peace of mind

That seems to leave you behind
Have you spoken to the God of Abraham, the Great I Am?
He's greater than any problem you've got.
And you can't ask too much of my God.
No, you can't ask too much of my God.

OUT OF MY HANDS

There You go changing my plans again
There You go shifting my sands again
For reasons I don't understand again
Lately, I don't have a clue
Just when I start liking what I see
There You go changing my scenery
I never know where You're taking me
But I'm trying just to follow You

It's out of my hands
It's out of my reach
It's over my head
And it's out of my league
There's too many things
That I don't understand
So it's into Your will
And it's out of my hands

There You go healing these scars again
Showing me right where You are again
I'm helpless, and that's where I start again
I'm giving it all up to You

It's out of my hands
It's out of my reach
It's over my head
And it's out of my league
There's too many things
That I don't understand
So it's into Your will
And it's out of my hands

Move me, make me
Choose me, change me
Send me, shake me
Find me, remind me
The past is behind me
Take it all away
Take it all from me, I pray

It's out of my hands
It's out of my reach
It's over my head
And it's out of my league
There's too many things
That I don't understand
So it's into Your will
And it's out of my hands

WHATEVER YOU'RE DOING

Author Unknown

It's time for healing; time to move on
It's time to fix what's been broken too long
It's time to make right what has been wrong
It's time to find my way to where I belong
There's a wave that's crashing over me
And all I can do is surrender

Whatever you're doing inside of me
It feels like chaos, but somehow there's peace
And it's hard to surrender to what I can't see
But I'm giving into something heavenly.

Time for a milestone, time to begin again
Reevaluate who I really am
Am I doing everything to follow Your will
Or just climbing aimlessly over these hills?
So show me what it is You want from me
I give everything; I surrender.

To whatever you're doing inside of me
It feels like chaos, but somehow there's peace
And though it's hard to surrender to what I can't see
I'm giving into something heavenly.
Something heavenly.

Time to face up, clean this old house
Time to breathe in and let everything out
That I've wanted to say for so many years
Time to release all my held back tears.

Whatever you're doing inside of me
It feels like chaos, but I believe
You're up to something bigger than me
Larger than life, something heavenly

Whatever you're doing inside of me
It feels like chaos, but now I can see
This is something bigger than me
Larger than life, something heavenly
Something heavenly

THE ANCHOR HOLDS

Lawrence Chewning and Ray Boltz

I have journeyed
Through the long, dark night
Out on the open sea
By faith alone
Sight unknown
And yet His eyes were watching me

The anchor holds
Though the ship is battered
The anchor holds
Though the sails are torn
I have fallen on my knees
As I faced the raging seas
The anchor holds
In spite of the storm

I've had visions
And I've had dreams
I've even held them in my hands
But I never knew
They would slip right through
Like they were only grains of sand

The anchor holds
Though the ship is battered
The anchor holds
Though the sails are torn
I have fallen on my knees
As I faced the raging seas
The anchor holds
In spite of the storm

I have been young
But I am older now
And there has been beauty
That these eyes have seen
But it was in the night
Through the storms of my life
Oh, that's where God proved
His love to me and. . .

That His anchor holds
Though the ship is battered
The anchor holds
Though the sails are torn
I have fallen on my knees
As I faced the raging seas
The anchor holds
In spite of the storm

CARRY ON

Jon Micah Sumrall and Dave Lubben

There is strength in my weakness
That only comes from You
There is power in meekness
That I have found in You
Where else can I go

You know I'm weak
I know You're strong
You say when I'm broken
And can't carry on

Carry on
When all my strength is gone
You're still holding on

There is love for the lonely
That only comes from You
There is peace and forgiveness
That I have found in You
Where else can I go

Carry on
When all my strength is gone
You're still holding on

You are the Way
You are the Light
You are the Voice calling me through the night

You are holy and just
Full of mercy and love
You are patient and kind
Your grace has opened my eyes

Carry on
When all my strength is gone
You're still holding on

THAT'S JUST HIS WAY OF TELLING ME HE LOVES ME

Dottie Rambo (I think)

He lets me walk down roads of disappointment
He watches, and He knows what's best for me
My greatest strength comes through my darkest trial
And my greatest joy is knowing that He can trust in me

That's just His way of telling me He loves me
Love beyond all human understanding
And I won't question trials that brings me to my knees
That's just His way of telling me He loves me.
If I'm successful walking through this valley
He'll give me strength to climb the highest hill
The more I'm tried the better He can mold me
And change my life completely to fit His perfect will

That's just His way of telling me He loves me
Love beyond all human understanding
And I won't question trials that brings me to my knees
That's just His way of telling me He loves me.
