THROUGH THE EYES OF FAITH

Chaz Bosarge & Phil Johnson

Is it raining in your soul
Are the storm winds strong and cold
Walking down an endless road
Still you go on.
Way down deep inside your heart
Has your whole life fell apart
Hope is reaching where you are
So, don’t forget.

The world’s still turning
And the sun’s still shining
The birds are still singing
In the sweetest harmony
'Cause love is waiting
To embrace you
Hope is seen beyond the clouds of gray
Through the eyes of faith

Healing like a long lost friend
Is reaching out to take your hand
You can start your life again
If you’ll just try
The chapter in your life today
It changes when you turn the page
The very moment that you say
Lord, I need You.

The world’s still turning
And the sun’s still shining
The birds are still singing
In the sweetest harmony
'Cause love is waiting
To embrace you
Hope is seen beyond the clouds of gray
Through the eyes of faith

WORTHY IS THE RISEN LAMB

Louis Gail Sypolt

A manger in Bethlehem held Mary's little Lamb
And the cross on Golgotha held the nails that pierced His hands
Then Satan said, "I've won; I told Him;" the tomb said, "I'll hold Him."
And Death said, "He's mine forevermore."

For three days and nights, Hell had a jubilee
But just as dawn was breaking, Satan thought he'd check and see,
But the tomb said, "I can't find Him;" Death said "I could not bind Him.
He got up, and when He left, He took my keys."

Worthy is the risen Lamb!
Worthy is the risen Lamb!
For Satan could not beat Him,
And Hell could not defeat Him,
And Death could not meet Him and stand.

Worthy is the risen Lamb!

HOMELAND

I'm not positive, but I believe this was written by Roger Bennett.

You beckoned to my loved one
And how my tears did flow
Tho' I tried I could not hide
How it hurt to see them go
But now I know they left this world
And just moved to a better place
And someday You will call me too
And I will see them face to face

In that city called Homeland
I can hear You calling me
Oh, my homeland,
Oh, how sweet it's going to be
Just to see You, and to stand upon the shore
And to live there forevermore.

READY

S.E.L. and A.C. Palmer

Ready to suffer grief or pain,
Ready to stand the test,
Ready to stay at home and send
Others if He sees best.

Ready to go, ready to stay,
Ready my place to fill,
Ready for service, lowly or great,
Ready to do His will.

Ready to go, ready to bear,
Ready to watch and pray,
Ready to stand aside and give,
Till He shall clear the way.

Ready to speak, ready to think,
Ready with heart and brain,
Ready to stand where He sees fit,
Ready to stand the strain.

Ready to go, ready to stay,
Ready my place to fill,
Ready for service, lowly or great,
Ready to do His will.

Ready to speak, ready to warn,
Ready o’er souls to yearn,
Ready in life, ready in death,
Ready for His return.

Ready to go, ready to stay,
Ready my place to fill,
Ready for service, lowly or great,
Ready to do His will.

I'M DOING THIS FOR YOU

Milton Ostrander and Brian Free

I stood there as they tried Him for crimes He hadn't done
No one else believe it, but I just knew He was the one
I slid back into the crowd, trying to go unseen
But when Pilot cried out, "Beat him", He pointed straight to me

My friends, they all cheered me as I took the whip in hand
Placing stripes upon the back of this guiltless Man
The way He turned and looked at me from my mind I can't erase
And I'll never forget the look on His face

He said, "I'm doing this for you
And I will still love you when you're through
I'm doing this for you"
Though it took me by surprise when I saw love in His eyes
He said, "I'm doing this for you"

High atop Mount Calvary, with hammer and nail
It became my duty to crucify this Man
I heard my friends gambling for His robe at my side
I couldn't turn away as He looked into my eyes

"Father forgive them," I heard Him cry aloud
"Behold the King of kings," someone mocked from the crowd
Then the ground shook and the thunder rolled
As He gave up the ghost
But until the day I die, the thing that I'll remember most

He said, "I'm doing this for you
And I will still love you when you're through
I'm doing this for you"
Though it took me by surprise when I saw love in His eyes
He said, "I'm doing this for you"

The sacrifice that day at Calvary
Was the Father's perfect plan to set man free

He said, "I'm doing this for you
And I will still love you when you're through
I'm doing this for you"
Though it took me by surprise when I saw love in His eyes
He said, "I'm doing this for you, for you"

STANDING TALL

It’s hard to watch a good friend
Going through a time so tough
But I’ve seen the way you take the heat
And never do give up
It seems unfair that most folks
Just aren’t trying to live by faith
But I think back to years ago
When I heard my grandpa say

Thunder shakes the mountainside
But it seems to me
When lightning strikes somehow it always
Finds the tallest tree
I look at what you’re facing
And think maybe after all
The only thing that you’ve been guilty of
Is standing tall

Let the hurt keep you humble,
Let it make you look inside
Let it keep you on your knees
Searching for a reason why
I may not have the answers
But I’ve seen this before
Sometimes the faithful ones are called
To bear a little more

Thunder shakes the mountainside
But it seems to me
When lightning strikes somehow it always
Finds the tallest tree
I look at what you’re facing
And think maybe after all
The only thing that you’ve been guilty of
Is standing tall

TESTIFY

I’ve got to tell someone
What a mighty thing that my Lord has done
His love has changed my life
I’ve gotta stand and testify
I want to make it known
Can’t believe the mercy that I’ve been shown
Got joy and hope inside
I’ve gotta stand and testify.

Grace came to me
And my soul is compelled
I’ve got such good news
That I just can’t keep to myself

I’ve got to tell someone
What a mighty thing that my Lord has done
His love has changed my life
I’ve gotta stand and testify
I want to make it known
Can’t believe the mercy that I’ve been shown
Got joy and hope inside
I’ve gotta stand and testify.

Feels like a fire that is
Shut in my bones
His Word says,
“Let the redeemed of the Lord say so”

I’ve got to tell someone
What a mighty thing that my Lord has done
His love has changed my life
I’ve gotta stand and testify
I want to make it known
Can’t believe the mercy that I’ve been shown
Got joy and hope inside
I’ve gotta stand and testify.

Testify, testify
Took away my guilt and sin
Testify, testify
Gave me peace and joy within
Testify, testify
Oh I’m forgivin’ for everything that I’ve done wrong
And if it’s true for you get on your feet and sing along.

I’ve got to tell someone
What a mighty thing that my Lord has done
His love has changed my life
I’ve gotta stand and testify
I want to make it known
Can’t believe the mercy that I’ve been shown
Got joy and hope inside
I’ve gotta stand and testify.

YOU LOVE ME ANYWAY

Ben McDonald, Dave Frey and Mark Delavergne

The question was raised
As my conscience fell
A silly, little lie
It didn’t mean much
But it lingers still
In the corners of my mind
Still you call me to walk
On the edge of this world
To spread my dreams and fly
But the future’s so far
My heart is so frail
I think I’d rather stay inside

But You love me anyway
It’s like nothing in life that I’ve ever known
You love me anyway
Oh, Lord, how You love me
How You love me

It took more than my strength
To simply be still
To seek but never find
All the reasons we change
The reasons I doubt
And why do loved ones have to die?

But You love me anyway
It’s like nothing in life that I’ve ever known
You love me anyway
Oh, Lord, how You love me

I am the thorn in Your crown
But You love me anyway
I am the sweat from Your brow
But You love me anyway
I am the nail in Your wrist
But You love me anyway
I am Judas’ kiss
But You love me anyway

See now, I am the man that called out from the crowd
For Your blood to be spilled on this earth shaking ground
Yes then, I turned away with a smile on my face
With this sin in my heart tried to bury Your grace
And then alone in the night, I still called out for You
So ashamed of my life, my life, my life

But You love me anyway
Oh, God… how you love me
You love me anyway
It’s like nothing in life that I’ve ever known
You love me anyway
Oh, Lord, how You love me
You love me.

PREACHER, TELL ME LIKE IT IS

Preacher, I'd say its been a while since you heard this request,
But my spirit is tired, and I need rest.
I want to hear from heaven,  a clear word from God,
A sermon of conviction straight from the heart.

I've been hearin' other preachers say I don't have to change,
The most eloquent of speakers tell me I'm okay,
But it hasn't eased my conscience, and I know it's not the truth,
So when you stand before us, can I count on you?

Oh preacher, you say you want to be my friend,
Don't be afraid to call my sin what it is.
And preacher, tell me I can overcome,
But it's only by the blood of the Lamb .
Don't tell me like I wish it was,
Preacher, tell me like it is.

So open up the Word, and let the Spirit lead
Preach until I've heard God speak to me
Don't worry 'bout my feelings; don't worry 'bout my shame
Just preach the cross of Jesus and that I'm to blame.

Oh preacher, you say you want to be my friend,
Don't be afraid to call my sin what it is.
And preacher, tell me I can overcome,
But it's only by the blood of the Lamb .
Don't tell me like I wish it was,
Preacher, tell me like it is.

Life is quickly passing; the world is fading fast,
And the foolishness of preaching is the only hope we have.

So preacher, you say you want to be my friend,
Don't be afraid to call my sin what it is.
And preacher, tell me I can overcome,
But it's only by the blood of the Lamb .
Don't tell me like I wish it was,
Preacher, tell me like it is.

THE GREATEST OF ALL MIRACLES

Squire Parsons

I wasn't there by the shores of Galilee
When Jesus touched those blinded eyes and made them see
And though I did not see the empty tomb that day, I still believe
For I know what Jesus did for me

I believe there is power in the blood of the Lamb
And I believe there is healing in the touch of His hand
But the greatest of all miracles was when my Jesus saved me
Yes, I know what Jesus did for me

Now I have seen the lowest sin-sick soul
Have life anew be made pure, pure and whole
And I have felt Him loose the chains of sin and set my spirit free
For I know what Jesus did for me

I believe there is power in the blood of the Lamb
And I believe there is healing in the touch of His hand
But the greatest of all miracles was when my Jesus saved me
Yes, I know what Jesus did for me

AT THE RIGHT TIME

At the time of God’s own choosing, He came,
When we the fight were losing, He came.
Long before we knew Him
When we were lost in sin,
At the right time, at the best time, He came.

When the night was cold and dreary, He came
To His children worn and weary, He came.
To bring us out of darkness
To make us His again,
At the right time, at the best time, He came

To the great and to the lowly, He came,
To the wicked, to the holy, He came.
That we might know the Father
That Heaven we might gain,
At the right time, at the best time, He came.
At the right time, at the best time, He came.

WHAT YOU TOOK FROM ME

Rodney Griffin

Lord, I've come today to thank you
Not for things I've ever mentioned here before
Not for blessings You have given
Or the joys You've promised are in store
So as I bow before You, give me the words to express my deepest thanks
Not for what You've given, but Lord, for what you took away.

You took my guilt and shame
All my sinful blame became as Yours,
You opened wide Your hand as a guilty man,
You wore my crown of thorns,
You took the death I earned and all that I deserved on Calvary.
Lord, thanks for what You've given, but most of all
Thanks for what You took from me.

Father, please forgive me
For all the times I've failed to mention this before
I've been so concerned with treasures
I've gone so far as to even ask for more
But You've shown me, Lord, what's precious.
It's not the things You've given me today
For their worth to me is nothing when compared
To what you took away.

You took my guilt and shame
All my sinful blame became as Yours,
You opened wide Your hand as a guilty man,
You wore my crown of thorns,
You took the death I earned and all that I deserved on Calvary.
Lord, thanks for what You've given, but most of all
Thanks for what You took from me.

Passin' the Faith Along

John Mohr

Passin' the faith along to my brother;
Passin' the faith along
Helpin' to build the faith of another,
Passin' the faith along
Sharin' the word of hope with my brother,
Helpin' to make him strong
Passin' the faith along to my brother,
Passin' the faith along

The runner of the relay finds in his baton
The purpose for the runnin' and strength to carry on
We hold within our grasp the faith that makes us strong
Like a relay runner, we seek to pass it on

Passin' the faith along to my brother;
Passin' the faith along
Helpin' to build the faith of another,
Passin' the faith along
Sharin' the word of hope with my brother,
Helpin' to make him strong
Passin' the faith along to my brother,
Passin' the faith along

Countless generations of saints have come and gone
The spark ignites as an ember fades, and the faith continues on
The challenge to the young and assurance for the old
The flame burns even brighter each time the story's told

Passin' the faith along to my brother;
Passin' the faith along
Helpin' to build the faith of another,
Passin' the faith along
Sharin' the word of hope with my brother,
Helpin' to make him strong
Passin' the faith along to my brother,
Passin' the faith along

ANOTHER YEAR IS DAWNING

Frances R. Havergal

Another year is dawning!
Dear Father, let it be,
In working or in waiting,
Another year with Thee;
Another year of leaning
Upon Thy loving breast;
Another year of trusting,
Of quiet, happy rest;

Another year of mercies,
Of faithfulness and grace;
Another year of gladness
In the shining of Thy face;
Another year of progress,
Another year of praise;
Another year of proving
Thy presence all the days;

Another year of service,
Of witness for Thy love;
Another year of training
For holier work above.
Another year is dawning!
Dear Father, let it be
On earth, or else in heaven,
Another year for Thee.
