'Tis So Sweet to Trust in Jesus

 Louisa M. R. Stead

’Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus,
 Just to take Him at His Word;
Just to rest upon His promise,
Just to know, “Thus saith the Lord!”

Jesus, Jesus, how I trust Him!
How I’ve proved Him o’er and o’er;
Jesus, Jesus, precious Jesus!
Oh, for grace to trust Him more!

 Oh, how sweet to trust in Jesus,
Just to trust His cleansing blood;
 And in simple faith to plunge me
’Neath the healing, cleansing flood!

Jesus, Jesus, how I trust Him!
How I’ve proved Him o’er and o’er;
Jesus, Jesus, precious Jesus!
Oh, for grace to trust Him more!

Yes, ’tis sweet to trust in Jesus,
Just from sin and self to cease;
Just from Jesus simply taking
Life and rest, and joy and peace.

Jesus, Jesus, how I trust Him!
How I’ve proved Him o’er and o’er;
Jesus, Jesus, precious Jesus!
Oh, for grace to trust Him more!

I’m so glad I learned to trust Thee,
Precious Jesus, Savior, Friend;
And I know that Thou art with me,
Wilt be with me to the end.

GOD BUILDS CHURCHES WITH BROKEN PEOPLE

Mark Bishop

Searching through the ashes of the person that I was
When devastation came, I found my strength was not enough
A light stood shining on a hill, through tears my eyes could see
Upon the path I saw that there were others just like me
Broken vessels, just like me

Oh, but God builds churches with broken people
With hurting people, with searching people
And somehow these imperfect people
Find strength to make it through
And the broken become brand new

They have come from everywhere, from every walk of life
 Each one beneath the traveler’s load of pain or guilt or strife
They have come to see His face and in His light they bow
With shattered dreams and broken hearts, yet with His hands, somehow
With loving hands somehow

God builds churches with broken people
With hurting people, with searching people
And somehow these imperfect people
Find strength to make it through
And the broken become brand new

GOD WILL HEAR YOUR PRAYER

Rodney Griffin and Wayne Haun

If He cares enough to send the rain
To the tiny seeds below
And brings forth the rays of sunlight
To sustain them as they grow
If He loves to hear the wind sing
And watch the sparrows fill the air
I know God will hear your prayer

God will hear your prayer
Though at times you feel forsaken
And it seems no one it there
Keep trusting and believing
That your burden He will bear
God will hear your prayer
I know God will hear your prayer

He heard the praying thief that day
From the cross He hung beside
Though suffering such agony,
He gave Him paradise
Then He heard your cry and saved you
Just to show how much He cares
Surely, God will hear your prayer

God will hear your prayer
Though at times you feel forsaken
And it seems no one it there
Keep trusting and believing
That your burden He will bear
God will hear your prayer
I know God will hear your prayer

MY DESIRE

Jeremy Camp

You want to be real
You want to be emptied inside
You want to be someone laying down your pride
You want to be someone someday
Then lay it all down before the King

You want to be whole
You want to have purpose inside
You want to have virtue and purify your mind
You want to be set free today
Then lay it all down before the King

This is my desire
This is my return
This is my desire
To be used by you

You want to be real
You want to be emptied inside
And I know my heart is to feel you near
And I know my life
Is to do your will
Is to do your will

This is my desire
This is my return
This is my desire
To be used by you

All my life I have seen where you've taken me
Beyond all I have hoped, and there's more left unseen
There's not much I can do to repay all You've done
So I give my hands to use

This is my desire
This is my return
This is my desire To be used by you

HELP IS ON THE WAY

Squire Parsons

To the weary, weary traveler walkin' down life's road
To the one who's heavy laden tryin' to bear the load
To the soldier who's been wounded in the battle for the Lord
Lift up the blood stain banner and don't lay down the sword

Hold on a little longer, help is on the way
Hold on a little longer, you'll find strength today
Walk on a little farther, His holy Word obey
Hold on a little longer for help is on the way

Any moment you're gonna look up and see through your tears
Any second you're gonna realize there's a holy presence near
And you'll witness all the strongholds of the enemy fall down
Hold on a little longer, soon you'll hear sweet victory's sound

Hold on a little longer, help is on the way
Hold on a little longer, you'll find strength today
Walk on a little farther, His holy Word obey
Hold on a little longer for help is on the way

ON A JOURNEY

 Joe DiQuattro

We are on a journey, destination Heaven,
Every step brings us closer home;
We're gonna keep our eyes on Jesus,
Knowing that He'll lead us
To that land where streets are purest gold.

Walking together towards Heaven
Talking and singing about Heaven.
Brothers and sisters,
Members of the family of God.
I can't wait to leave here;
Don't you want to be there
When the saints all go marching in?
Some from every nation,
What a celebration!
Hand in hand together with the Lord.

Those who've gone before us,
With the Lord will greet us
As we walk through the gates of pearl.
We will bow our knees before Him,
We're gonna worship and adore Him;
It's the church forever with the Lord.

Walking together, forever.
Talking and singing around Heaven.
Brothers and sisters,
Members of the family of God.
I can't wait to meet Him,
Don't you want to be there
When the saints all go marching in?
Some from every nation,
What a celebration!
Hand in hand together with the Lord.

WHEN HE SPOKE TO ME

Joel Lindsey and Jeff Silvey

She thought He was the gardener
When she met Him on the road.
She had gone to see the tomb where Jesus laid.
But when she heard the Stranger speak,
"Mary, I'm the One you seek",
She ran to the disciples
And through her tears they heard her say:

When He spoke to me I knew it was the Savior.
When He spoke to me, He called me by my name.
The stone that sealed my heart with fear rolled suddenly away.
For when JESUS spoke, I knew I'd never be the same.

For years I walked without Him,
Living only for myself.
And that only led me to pain and misery.
Then in my heart, I heard Him say,
"Child, there is a better way."
So I knelt down at His feet
And felt His mercy cover me.

When He spoke to me I knew it was the Savior.
When He spoke to me, He called me by my name.
The stone that sealed my heart with fear rolled suddenly away.
For when JESUS spoke, I knew I'd never be the same.

SUNSHINE IN MY SOUL

Eliza E. Hewitt

There is sunshine in my soul today,
More glorious and bright
Than glows in any earthly sky,
For Jesus is my Light.

O there’s sunshine, blessed sunshine,
When the peaceful, happy moments roll;
When Jesus shows His smiling face,
There is sunshine in the soul.

There is music in my soul today,
A carol to my King,
And Jesus, listening, can hear
The songs I cannot sing.

O there’s sunshine, blessed sunshine,
When the peaceful, happy moments roll;
When Jesus shows His smiling face,
There is sunshine in the soul.

There is springtime in my soul today,
For, when the Lord is near,
The dove of peace sings in my heart,
The flowers of grace appear.

O there’s sunshine, blessed sunshine,
When the peaceful, happy moments roll;
When Jesus shows His smiling face,
There is sunshine in the soul.

There is gladness in my soul today,
And hope and praise and love,
For blessings which He gives me now,
For joys “laid up” above.

I'M LOSING MY MIND

Author Unknown

I was runnin' into walls, wondering where I went wrong
Headed for a fall, and flirtin' with the world too long
When love turned the tide, what was wrong has now turned out right
Everything is changed around
Things are looking different now

I'm losin' my mind, putting on the mind of Christ
I'm out of control, lettin' Jesus run my life
I'm goin' crazy, head over heels in love with Him
Since the old man died, I'm happy to find I'm losin' my mind

My head is in the clouds, thinkin' 'bout things above
But my feet are on the ground, walkin' in the Father's love
When I don't understand, I surrender to the Master's plan
My thinking has been re-arranged
I'm a receiver of the great exchange

I'm losin' my mind, putting on the mind of Christ
I'm out of control, lettin' Jesus run my life
I'm goin' crazy, head over heels in love with Him
Since the old man died, I'm happy to find I'm losin' my mind

IT'S GONNA TAKE SURRENDER

 Chris Key and Michael Peters

Here you are again in this familiar place,
Wrestling the same struggles you've already faced.
The darkness all around you just keeps closing in,
Living your own way has let you down again.
There's nothing left to say or left to do;
You wonder what it's gonna take to pull you through.

It's gonna take surrender;
It's gonna take letting go.
It's gonna take throwing up your hands,
And letting God have control.
It's gonna take His mercy;
It's gonna take your faith.
It's gonna take falling on your knees
And God's amazing grace.
If we're ever gonna reach that home of splendor,
It's gonna take surrender.

Life has become so fast-paced these days,
Pursuing wealth and earthly gain keeps us in a race.
Broken hearts and homes are nothing rare it seems,
And living for the moment is now the common theme.
Today is the day to seek the truth.
This is what it's gonna take for me and you.

It's gonna take surrender;
It's gonna take letting go.
It's gonna take throwing up your hands,
And letting God have control.
It's gonna take His mercy;
It's gonna take your faith.
It's gonna take falling on your knees
And God's amazing grace.
If we're ever gonna reach that home of splendor,
It's gonna take surrender.

WHEN HE SAVED ME

I don’t believe He’s sitting up in Heaven
Evaluating sinners by their scars
But I see Him excited to forgive us
And it’s not at all in spite of who we are

When He saved me He knew
What I had done, what I would do
He looked beyond the worst in me
And saw not what I was, He saw what I could be

He looked at all the broken scattered pieces
And made a brand new vessel of my life
Every day possibility increases
‘Cause he placed me in a dream that never dies

When He saved me He knew
What I had done, what I would do
He looked beyond the worst in me
And saw not what I was, He saw what I could be

And though I was a sinner, the Savior heard my cry
His mercy came and rescued me, He did not pass me by

When He saved me He knew
What I had done, what I would do
He looked beyond the worst in me
And saw not what I was, He saw what I could be
