I'D RATHER HAVE JESUS

Rhea F. Miller

I’d rather have Jesus than silver or gold;
I’d rather be His than have riches untold;
I’d rather have Jesus than houses or lands;
I’d rather be led by His nail-pierced hand

Than to be the king of a vast domain,
Or be held in sin’s dread sway;
I’d rather have Jesus than anything
This world affords today.

I’d rather have Jesus than men’s applause;
I’d rather be faithful to His dear cause;
I’d rather have Jesus than worldwide fame;
I’d rather be true to His holy name

Than to be the king of a vast domain,
Or be held in sin’s dread sway;
I’d rather have Jesus than anything
This world affords today.

He’s fairer than lilies of rarest bloom;
He’s sweeter than honey from out the comb;
He’s all that my hungering spirit needs;
I’d rather have Jesus and let Him lead

Than to be the king of a vast domain,
Or be held in sin’s dread sway;
I’d rather have Jesus than anything
This world affords today.

I WILL RISE

Louie Giglio, Matt Maher, Jesse Reeves, Chris Tomlin

There's a peace I've come to know
Though my heart and flesh may fail
There's an anchor for my soul
I can say "It is well"

Jesus has overcome
And the grave is overwhelmed
The victory is won
He is risen from the dead

And I will rise when He calls my name
No more sorrow, no more pain
I will rise on eagles' wings
Before my God fall on my knees
And rise
I will rise

There's a day that's drawing near
When this darkness breaks to light
And the shadows disappear
And my faith shall be my eyes

Jesus has overcome
And the grave is overwhelmed
The victory is won
He is risen from the dead

And I will rise when He calls my name
No more sorrow, no more pain
I will rise on eagles' wings
Before my God fall on my knees
And rise
I will rise

And I hear the voice of many angels sing,
"Worthy is the Lamb"
And I hear the cry of every longing heart,
"Worthy is the Lamb"
And I hear the voice of many angels sing,
"Worthy is the Lamb"
And I hear the cry of every longing heart,
"Worthy is the Lamb"

And I will rise when He calls my name
No more sorrow, no more pain
I will rise on eagles' wings
Before my God fall on my knees
And rise
I will rise

YOU ARE EVERYTHING

Matthew West and Cindy Mizelle

I am the one with two left feet
Standing on a lonely street
I can't even walk a straight line
And every time you look at me
I'm spinning like an autumn leaf
Bound to hit bottom sometime
Where would I be without someone to save me
Someone who won't let me fall

You are everything that I live for
Everything that I can't believe is happening
You're standing right in front of me
With arms wide open
All I know is
Every day is filled with hope
'Cause You are everything that I believe for
And I can't help but breathe you in
Breathe again
Feeling all this life within
Every single beat of my heart

I am the one with big mistakes
Big regrets and bigger breaks
Than I ever care to confess
Oh but, You're the One who looks at me
And sees what I was meant to be
More than just a beautiful mess
Oh, where would I be without someone to save me
Someone who won't let me fall

You are everything that I live for
Everything that I can't believe is happening
You're standing right in front of me
With arms wide open
All I know is
Every day is filled with hope
'Cause You are everything that I believe for
And I can't help but breathe you in
Breathe again

Feeling all this life within
Every single beat of my heart
You're everything good in my life
Everything honest and true
And all of those stars hanging up in the sky
Could never shine brighter than

You are everything that I live for
Everything that I can't believe is happening
You're standing right in front of me
With arms wide open
All I know is
Every day is filled with hope
'Cause You are everything that I believe for
And I can't help but breathe you in
Breathe again

HE'S STILL ON THE THRONE

Kyla Rowland

A sinner now saved
Blood-washed by the Lamb
My Brother's a King
The Son of I AM
Sometimes I forget
To Whom I belong
Then the sweet Spirit cries,
"My child, He's still on the throne."

He's still on the throne
So what could be wrong
It is well with my soul
Let the stormy winds blow
I'm reminded today
Praise God, I am saved
Salvation's sweet song
While ages roll on
He's still on the throne

Old Satan has power
And sometimes I'm weak
At times I give up
And He walks over me
Then Someone comes by
With words loud and strong:
"Arise my child, It is I
And I'm still on the throne."

He's still on the throne
So what could be wrong
It is well with my soul
Let the stormy winds blow
I'm reminded today
Praise God, I am saved
Salvation's sweet song
While ages roll on
He's still on the throne

ASK ME WHY

Kenna West and Jason Cox

She slipped through the door
Sat on the last pew
A heart full of questions
And a world torn in two
Bearing the weight
Of years of regret
She listened to the preacher
When he stood up and said,
"If you're somewhere between doubt and believin’
Friend, I have answers
For all that you're needin’"

Ask me who, and I'll tell you it's Jesus
Ask me how, and I'll say it's the Blood
Ask me where, and I'll take you to Calvary
Ask me why, and I'll tell you it's love

It's been years since she
Found amazing grace
It’s been a long journey
But each battle she's faced
Has proven God faithful
Time and again
And the chance to tell others
Who are right where she's been
Somewhere between doubt and believin’
God has the answers
For all that you're needin’

Ask me who, and I'll tell you it's Jesus
Ask me how, and I'll say it's the Blood
Ask me where, and I'll take you to Calvary
Ask me why, and I'll tell you it's love

It’s love that held Him to the Cross
It’s love that came to save the lost

Ask me who, and I'll tell you it's Jesus
Ask me how, and I'll say it's the Blood
Ask me where, and I'll take you to Calvary
Ask me why, and I'll tell you it's love

REDEMPTION DRAWETH NIGH

Gordon Jensen

Years of time have come and gone
Since I first heard it told
How Jesus would come again some day
If back then it seemed so real
Then I just can’t help but feel
How much closer His coming is today

Signs of the times are everywhere
There’s a brand new feeling in the air
Keep your eyes upon the eastern sky
Lift up your head; redemption draweth nigh

Wars and strife on every hand
And violence fills the land
Still some people doubt He’ll come again
But the Word of God is true
He’ll redeem His chosen few
Don’t lose hope soon Christ Jesus will descend

Signs of the times are everywhere
There’s a brand new feeling in the air
Keep your eyes upon the eastern sky
Lift up your head; redemption draweth nigh

IF THAT DON'T MAKE YOU WANNA GO

Rebecca Isaacs Bowman and Sonya Melissa Isaacs

John saw a golden city,
New Jerusalem coming down
Twelve jasper walls and gates of pearl;
Such splendor all around
And he tells about a river of life
That flows beneath the throne
Where we'll drink and live eternally
In a mansion all our own

Oh, if that don't make you wanna go, brother
If that don't make you wanna go, sister
If that don't make you wanna go to Heaven
I don't know what does

They say there is no heartache there,
And no more curse of sin
No sickness and no cross to bear
And death can't enter in
No fighting and no battlefields,
No war, no enemies
Where the lamb and lion lay side by side
In that land of perfect peace

Oh, if that don't make you wanna go, brother
If that don't make you wanna go, sister
If that don't make you wanna go to Heaven
I don't know what does

No worries and no more to fear,
Our faith will be made sight
It's a glorious land of endless day
Where Jesus is the light
Got a lot of friends and loved ones there
The Savior I will meet
And I'll lay my crown of jewels down
And bow at Jesus' feet

Oh, if that don't make you wanna go, brother
If that don't make you wanna go, sister
If that don't make you wanna go to Heaven
I don't know what does

ALL THE BROKEN PIECES

Sam Mizell and Matthew West

Did you feel, feel it break
From all the weight of your mistake?
You never knew how much it cost
Feels like your innocence is lost

So much for the perfect life
So much for the perfect day
It's like no matter how you try
Perfection's just too far away

So lift them up to Me
All the broken pieces
All the broken pieces of your life
To Me
All the broken pieces
All the broken pieces of your life

Did you hear what I said?
Did you read the words I wrote down in red?
I was broken once for you
And no one loves you like I do

And that's the beauty of this grace
It can put the pieces back in place
And shine reflections of forgiveness
In a million different ways

So lift them up to Me
All the broken pieces
All the broken pieces of your life
To Me
All the broken pieces
All the broken pieces of your life

'Cause I can take even your greatest mistake
Every scar, every tear, every break
And I can turn it into something
More beautiful than you have ever seen

So lift them up to Me
All the broken pieces

Lift them up to Me
Let Me carry you
I will take your pieces
And put them back together

THE BLOOD

What brought forgiveness to me
What washed me so completely
What made me worthy in Your eyes
What power broke the chains of sin
And gave me hope again
What raised my dying soul to life

It was the blood
It was the blood
The blood You shed for me
It was the blood
It was the blood
The blood You shed for me

Lord, I was powerless to
Defend myself before You
I could not plead my case alone
When justice called for everything
What sacrifice could bring
Freedom for my captive soul.

It was the blood
It was the blood
The blood You shed for me
It was the blood
It was the blood
The blood You shed for me

Mercy, sweet mercy
Covers my soul
Over and over
Forever will flow

It was the blood
Precious blood
Nothin’ but the blood of Jesus
Still the blood
It’s still the blood
It’s still the blood

It was the blood
It was the blood
The blood You shed for me
It was the blood
It was the blood
The blood You shed for me

ON HIS KNEES

Sue C. Smith and Russell Mauldin

No one said that it was right,
But we were arguing that night
Over who would have the highest place.
We were dusty from the road,
So Jesus laid aside His coat,
Then He wrapped a towel around His waist.

And on His knees He showed us
With compassion and concern.
On His knees He told us
What He knew we'd have to learn
About sacrifice and greatness and humility
All because He loved use,
He loved us on His knees.

As we left the room we talked
And to Gethsemane we walked
Then He asked if we would watch and wait.
If we hadn't gone to sleep
We would have had the chance to see
We'd have known it was for us He prayed.

And on His knees He showed us
With compassion and concern.
On His knees He told us
What He knew we'd have to learn
About sacrifice and greatness and humility
All because He loved use,
He loved us on His knees.

I watched Him save a fallen woman,
And make clay to heal a man who could not see.
Now, if I want to follow,
He taught me by example where to be.
He taught me where to be.

And on His knees He showed us
With compassion and concern.
On His knees He told us
What He knew we'd have to learn
About sacrifice and greatness and humility
All because He loved use,
He loved us on His knees.

PREACHING TO THE CHOIR

Marty Funderburk, Michael Puryear and Tony Wood

God's message is still moving
And we all stand amazed
At how it's reaching to this world
And changing hearts today
Sometimes we think the Gospel's
Just for those who haven't heard
But we never outgrow the need to know
The power of His Word

So keep on preachin' to the choir
'Cause we still need it so
Keep on preachin' to the choir
We've got a long, long way to go
Touch our hearts with truth
Let it be a cleansing fire
Keep on preachin' to the world
But don't stop preachin' to the choir

We've heard the Gospel story
So many times before
But every time we hear it
How we love it even more
There's so much in the Scripture
We're hungering to know
And we need to be fed with daily bread
It's manna to our soul

So keep on preachin' to the choir
'Cause we still need it so
Keep on preachin' to the choir
We've got a long, long way to go
Touch our hearts with truth
Let it be a cleansing fire
Keep on preachin' to the world
But don't stop preachin' to the choir

Preach it, preach it
Teach it, teach it
Sing it, sing it
All God's children need it

So keep on preachin' to the choir
'Cause we still need it so
Keep on preachin' to the choir
We've got a long, long way to go
Touch our hearts with truth
Let it be a cleansing fire
Keep on preachin' to the world
But don't stop preachin' to the choir

THE SILENT TOMB SPEAKS

Dana Rongione

I watched in horror as they drove the nails
Through His hands and through His feet
He hung His head and prayed, "Father, forgive"
As I stared in disbelief
Cries of victory and cries of pain
Filled the darkening sky
The shout "It is finished" rose above the noise
And I saw my Savior die

His bruised and bloodied body was wrapped
And laid within the grave
The stone was rolled in front of the door
Seeming to seal the world's fate
For three days and three nights, the soldiers stood guard
As silence filled the air
The silent tomb stood as a symbol of defeat
To all who passed by there

The silent tomb speaks of anguish and sorrow
The silent tomb cries, "All hope in now lost"
The silent tomb sings a sad song of grief and pain
I don't know about you, but the silent tomb
Speaks volumes to me

But on the next morning, a light filled the sky
And the earth began to quake
The giant stone moved, and the soldiers both swooned
As their knees began to shake
From the darkness within, my blessed Savior appeared
Holding the keys of death and hell
He told Mary to run and spread the news far and wide
"Jesus is alive and well!"

Now the silent tomb speaks of light in the darkness
The silent tomb cries, "My God is alive!"
The silent tomb sings a sweet song of victory
I don't know about you, but the silent tomb
Speaks volumes to me.

BEEN THERE, DONE THAT

Jerry Salley and C. Aaron Wilburn

You know it wasn't long ago, man, I thought I was strong
Living my life out on my own until my strength was gone
Free as a feather in a foolish wind, I'd go anywhere it blew
But the storms of life left me with nothing to hold on to

I've been there, I've done that
And I ain't ever going back
I've walked through salvation's door
And there's nothing worth returning for
I'll never live that life again; no, I'm never going back
No way; I've been there; I've done that

This world can take a trusting heart and crush it 'til it breaks
But I've found the shelter of the Father's arm to save
But you could offer me this whole wide world and beg me please to stay
But I'll just smile and wave good-bye, and then you'll hear me say

I've been there, I've done that
And I ain't ever going back
I've walked through salvation's door
And there's nothing worth returning for
I'll never live that life again; no, I'm never going back
No way; I've been there; I've done that

DAY BY DAY

Karolina Sandell-Berg

THE HISTORY BEHIND THE SONG

This is a Scandinavian hymn, written by the "Fanny Crosby of Sweden," Karolina W. Sandell-Berg.

Lina was born is Frvderyd on October 3, 1832, the daughter of Jonas Sandell, pastor of the village's Lutheran church. Though frail in body, she had a strong spirit, feasting on the artistic, literary, and religious influences of her home life.

But tragedy struck when she was twenty-six. Lina and her father were enjoying a boat trip on the east coast of Sweden near Gothenburg when the ship suddenly lurched. Before her eyes, Rev. Sandell pitched overboard and drowned. Returning home alone, Lina began processing her grief through the Scriptures and expressing her faith in poetry. . .

Seven years later, her best-known hymn, "Day by Day" was published. In it, Lina spoke from personal experience about the daily strength the Lord provides for His struggling children. . .

1. Day by day, and with each passing moment,
Strength I find, to meet my trials here;
Trusting in my Father’s wise bestowment,
I’ve no cause for worry or for fear.
He Whose heart is kind beyond all measure
Gives unto each day what He deems best—
Lovingly, its part of pain and pleasure,
Mingling toil with peace and rest.

2. Every day, the Lord Himself is near me
With a special mercy for each hour;
All my cares He fain would bear, and cheer me,
He Whose Name is Counselor and Pow’r.
The protection of His child and treasure
Is a charge that on Himself He laid;
“As thy days, thy strength shall be in measure,”
This the pledge to me He made.

3. Help me then in every tribulation
So to trust Thy promises, O Lord,
That I lose not faith’s sweet consolation
Offered me within Thy holy Word.
Help me, Lord, when toil and trouble meeting,
E’er to take, as from a father’s hand,
One by one, the days, the moments fleeting,
Till I reach the promised land.
