HOW LONG HAS IT BEEN?

Mosie Lister

How long has it been since you talked with the Lord
And told him your heart's hidden secrets?
How long since you prayed?
How long since you stayed
On your knees till the light shone through?
How long has it been since your mind felt at ease?
How long since your heart knew no burden?
Can you call Him your friend?
How long has it been
Since you knew that He cared for you?

How long has it been since you knelt by your bed
And prayed to the Lord up in heaven?
How long since you knew that He'd answer you
And would keep you the long night through?
How long has it been since you woke with the dawn
And felt that the day is worth living?
Can you call Him your friend?
How long has it been
Since you knew that He cared for you?

SAVED BY GRACE

Belinda Johnson

Saved by grace, I've been saved by grace,
My name is in the Book Of Life
And my sin's all washed away;
Saved by grace, I've been saved by grace,
It's not what I deserve but I'm saved by grace.

I was alone in the darkness,
I could not find my way;
Then Jesus shined a light on me,
And He turned all my nights to day.

Now I'm saved by grace, I've been saved by grace,
My name is in the Book Of Life
And my sin's all washed away;
Saved by grace, I've been saved by grace,
It's not what I deserve but I'm saved by grace.

When I reach that city,
The gates swing open wide;
I'm gonna sing redemption's story,
Of how He brought me from the other side.

Now I'm saved by Grace, I've been saved by grace,
My name is in the Book Of Life
And my sin's all washed away;
Saved by grace, I've been saved by grace,
It's not what I deserve but I'm saved by grace.

I BELIEVE

Mark S. Mathes

I believe that there was a man named Jonah
Who lived in the belly of a whale.
I believe that there is a beautiful heaven
I believe there's a burning hell.
I believe that Moses led God's children
All across the hot sand
And when they came to the river God parted the water
And they walked across on dry land.

I believe in the blessed hope,
The Book and the blood,
And there is no other way.
That Jesus is the Son of God
And He's coming back someday.
The Holy Spirit dwells within us.
The heavenly Father is above.
I believe in the blessed hope,
I believe in the Book and the blood.

I believe that Mary was a virgin when she heard
That Jesus was on His way.
I believe if you look inside the lowly manger
You'll see God lying in the hay.
I believe that Jesus died and was buried
And rose upon the third day
I believe that the trumpet's gonna sound so loud
God's people will be called away.

I believe in the blessed hope,
The Book and the blood,
And there is no other way.
That Jesus is the Son of God
And He's coming back someday.
The Holy Spirit dwells within us.
The heavenly Father is above.
I believe in the blessed hope,
I believe in the book and the blood.

WELCOME TO HEAVEN

Phil Cross

Lately I’ve been yearnin’ for home
But my heart has already gone
With each step that I take, I feel one step away
From walking through the pearly gates
Soon He’ll call announcin’ my entrance
And I’ll go without a delay
For I long just to bow in His presence
And to hear my Redeemer say

Welcome to heaven, my child
Welcome to heaven, my child
You have run the race
You have kept the faith
Welcome to heaven, my child

Jasper walls, golden streets, mansions bright
The crystal river will sparkle with light
Heaven’s beauties we’ll share
But they’ll never compare
To the moment He welcomes me there
Glory’s angels will all step aside
When He greets me with arms open wide
He’ll step down from His throne
Just for me alone,
Face to face He’ll welcome me home

Welcome to heaven, my child
Welcome to heaven, my child
You have run the race
You have kept the faith
Welcome to heaven, my child

WHAT FAITH CAN DO

Everybody falls sometimes
Gotta find the strength to rise
From the ashes and make a new beginning
Anyone can feel the ache
You think it’s more than you can take
But you are stronger, stronger than you know
Don’t you give up now
The sun will soon be shining
You gotta face the clouds
To find the silver lining

I’ve seen dreams that move the mountains
Hope that doesn’t ever end
Even when the sky is falling
And I’ve seen miracles just happen
Silent prayers get answered
Broken hearts become brand new
That’s what faith can do

It doesn’t matter what you’ve heard
"Impossible" is not a word
It’s just a reason for someone not to try
Everybody’s scared to death
When they decide to take that step
Out on the water
It’ll be alright
Life is so much more
Than what your eyes are seeing
You will find your way
If you keep believing

I’ve seen dreams that move the mountains
Hope that doesn’t ever end
Even when the sky is falling
And I’ve seen miracles just happen
Silent prayers get answered
Broken hearts become brand new
That’s what faith can do

WELCOME TO THE FAMILY

Jim Brady, Barry Weeks, & Tony Woods

The tablecloths are red and white,
The tea is sweet and cold
The lines are long for that good fried chicken
And green bean casserole
Old folks all are fanning,
The young kids are at play
The preacher asks the blessing,
It’s a scene that seems to say

Welcome to the family
You can feel at home here
There’s a lot of love
That goes beyond these years
There’s nothing like the fellowship
Of those who love the Lord
So welcome to the family,
There’s always room for more

We all feel like nappin’
On a Sunday afternoon
But we’ll stick around for a while
To sing some good ole gospel tunes
It doesn’t matter if the voices and
The songs are new or old
There’s something in the harmony
That’s speaking to my soul.

Welcome to the family
You can feel at home here
There’s a lot of love
That goes beyond these years
There’s nothing like the fellowship
Of those who love the Lord
So welcome to the family,
There’s always room for more

When I count my blessings, it’s easy to see
My brothers and sisters that mean so much to me

I think about the many times
They’ve kept me in their prayers
And the countless ways
They’ve always shown me that they care
And I know they’ll still walk with me
No matter what’s ahead
Yes, so much more than just their words
Their lives have always said

Welcome to the family
You can feel at home here
There’s a lot of love
That goes beyond these years
There’s nothing like the fellowship
Of those who love the Lord
So welcome to the family,
There’s always room for more

'TIL THE STORM PASSES BY

Mosie Lister

In the dark of the midnight,
Have I oft hid my face;
While the storm howls above me,
And there's no hiding place;
'Mid the crash of the thunder,
Precious Lord, hear my cry;
"Keep me safe 'til the storm passes by."

'Til the storm passes over,
'Til the thunder sounds no more;
'Til the clouds roll forever from the sky,
Hold me fast, let me stand,
In the hollow of Thy hand;
Keep me safe 'til the storm passes by.

Many times Satan whispers,
"There is no need to try;
For there's no end of sorrow,
There's no hope by and by";
But I know Thou art with me,
And tomorrow I'll rise;
Where the storms never darken the skies.

'Til the storm passes over,
'Til the thunder sounds no more;
'Til the clouds roll forever from the sky,
Hold me fast, let me stand,
In the hollow of Thy hand;
Keep me safe 'til the storm passes by.

When the long night has ended,
And the storms come no more,
Let me stand in Thy presence.
On that bright, peaceful shore.
In that land where the tempest
Never comes, Lord may I
Dwell with Thee when the storm passes by.

'Til the storm passes over,
'Til the thunder sounds no more;
'Til the clouds roll forever from the sky,
Hold me fast, let me stand,
In the hollow of Thy hand;
Keep me safe 'til the storm passes by.

HE WILL HIDE ME

Kyla Rowland

I am Job lying helpless
Suffering loss but not hopeless
I am David crying, “Mercy, Lord on me”
I am Elijah in a cave
Dreading the light of day
I am Daniel humbly bowed faithfully
I am Paul in a prison
Lifting praises to heaven
I am John cast out but not down
I am Moses seeking shelter
In the cleft of the Rock
Here I am, Lord
Hide me again

I finally made it to the cleft of the Rock
I am glad, for I could no longer stand
Many times I will struggle to reach that old Rock
But He will hide me again and again

Now I am safe from the stranger
Safe from the danger
That would try to do me great harm
I am wrapped up and warm
In the love of my Master
I am resting while I lean on His arms
So I stay a little longer
Until I am stronger
When all of my healing is done
The ravens will feed me
And His hand will keep me
And hide me until I can go on

I finally made it to the cleft of the Rock
I am glad, for I could no longer stand
Many times I will struggle to reach that old Rock
But He will hide me again and again

He hideth my soul in the cleft of the Rock
That shadows a dry thirsty land
He hideth my life in the depths of His love
And He will hide me again and again.

HE LOCKED THE GATES

Rodney Griffin

ONE DAY I HEARD A PREACHER PREACH
HE SAID THIS WORLD WE’RE GONNA LEAVE
AND WHEN WE DIE WE’LL EITHER GO
TO HEAV’N ABOVE OR HELL BELOW
I BOWED MY HEAD CONFESSED MY SIN
INVITED JESUS TO COME IN
THE SAVIOR TURNED ME FROM THE FLAMES
AND WITH A WORD HE LOCKED THE GATES

HE LOCKED THE GATES OF HELL BEHIND ME
AND THEN HE THREW THE KEYS AWAY
HE LOCKED THE GATES, O GIVE HIM GLORY
THERE’LL NEVER COME A DAY
I’LL HAVE TO ENTER SUCH A PLACE
FOR THE DAY THAT I GOT SAVED
HE LOCKED THE GATES

NOW I LIVE A LIFE SO FREE
KNOWING JESUS LIVES IN ME
AND WHEN I FAIL I PLEAD THE BLOOD
ALIVE AND WELL IT’S STILL ENOUGH
THEN WHEN THE DEVIL COMES MY WAY
AND SAYS IN HELL FOR SIN I’LL PAY
I POINT HIM TO A RUGGED HILL
AND SAY THANKS TO JESUS I NEVER WILL

HE LOCKED THE GATES OF HELL BEHIND ME
AND THEN HE THREW THE KEYS AWAY
HE LOCKED THE GATES, O GIVE HIM GLORY
THERE’LL NEVER COME A DAY
I’LL HAVE TO ENTER SUCH A PLACE
FOR THE DAY THAT I GOT SAVED
HE LOCKED THE GATES

THE BROKEN ONES

Jerry Salley, Vip Vipperman, & JB Rudd

Maggie came home one day
With a raggedy Raggedy Ann
She said “Momma
Look what I found in the neighbor’s garbage can”
Had a missing left arm
And a right button eye
Hanging by a thread
She carried it up to her room
And laid it on her bed with her other dolls

She loves the broken ones
The ones that need a little patching up
She sees the diamonds in the rough
And makes them shine like new
It really doesn’t take that much
A willing heart and a tender touch
If everyone loved like she does
There’d be a lot less broken ones

Twenty years later in a shelter on 18th avenue
A 17-year old girl shows up all black and blue
Needle tracks in her left arm
Almost to weak to stand
She says, “I am lost and I need help”
As Maggie takes her hand and says come on in

She loves the broken ones
The ones that need a little patching up
She sees the diamonds in the rough
And makes them shine like new
It really doesn’t take that much
A willing heart and a tender touch
If everyone loved like she does
There’d be a lot less broken ones

If you call her an angle
She’ll be quick to say to you
She’s just doing what the one
Who dies for her would do

Love the broken ones
The ones that need a little patching up
She sees the diamonds in the rough
And makes them shine like new
It really doesn’t take that much
A willing heart and a tender touch
If everyone loved like she does
There’d be a lot less broken ones

PUT WINGS UPON YOUR PROBLEM

Mark Bishop

Somewhere along the way you realized
It's been so long since you had seen sunny skies.
Just up above those stormy clouds,
You know Someone is looking down.
If only there were some way you
Could call on Him
Well, my friend, there is.

Just put wings upon your problem
And it becomes a prayer.
Lift your worries up to heaven
Where Jesus hears and cares.
When burdens grow so heavy
And, oh, so hard to bear
Just put wings upon your problem
And it becomes a prayer.

You have resigned yourself to feeling unloved
Shackles and chains may bind your heart, oh but above,
Jesus looks down and sees
A lost little lamb who needs
To rest in the arms of the Shepherd,
The One who says "Come unto me..."

Just put wings upon your problem
And it becomes a prayer.
Lift your worries up to heaven
Where Jesus hears and cares.
When burdens grow so heavy
And, oh, so hard to bear
Just put wings upon your problem
And it becomes a prayer.

SOMEBODY TOUCHED THE LORD

Sandy Knight

My soul was sick and dying
Bound in sin and shame
Somebody called upon the Lord
And soon sweet redemption came
Somebody held me up to God
When I was feeling down
And I so glad somebody prayed
So I can sing it now

Somebody got another prayer through
Somebody touched the Lord
Somebody just touched heaven
For another need once more
Somebody prayed until the spirit came
Somebody called on Jesus name
Somebody knocked upon Heaven's door
Somebody touched the Lord

Now when I needed healing
And felt too low to pray
Somebody interceded
And soon my healing came
Now help me, Lord, to pray for those
Who stand in need of prayer
And let it be said, yes once more
Somebody touched the Lord

Somebody got another prayer through
Somebody touched the Lord
Somebody just touched heaven
For another need once more
Somebody prayed until the spirit came
Somebody called on Jesus name
Somebody knocked upon Heaven's door
Somebody touched the Lord

HIS EYE IS ON THE SPARROW

Civilla D. Martin

Why should I feel discouraged,
Why should the shadows come,
Why should my heart be lonely,
And long for heav’n and home,
When Jesus is my portion?
My constant Friend is He:
His eye is on the sparrow,
And I know He watches me;
His eye is on the sparrow,
And I know He watches me.

I sing because I’m happy,
I sing because I’m free,
For His eye is on the sparrow,
And I know He watches me.

“Let not your heart be troubled,”
His tender word I hear,
And resting on His goodness,
I lose my doubts and fears;
Though by the path He leadeth,
But one step I may see;
His eye is on the sparrow,
And I know He watches me;
His eye is on the sparrow,
And I know He watches me.

I sing because I’m happy,
I sing because I’m free,
For His eye is on the sparrow,
And I know He watches me.

Whenever I am tempted,
Whenever clouds arise,
When songs give place to sighing,
When hope within me dies,
I draw the closer to Him,
From care He sets me free;
His eye is on the sparrow,
And I know He watches me;
His eye is on the sparrow,
And I know He watches me.

I sing because I’m happy,
I sing because I’m free,
For His eye is on the sparrow,
And I know He watches me.
