THANK HIM FOR THE MIRACLE

Mosie Lister

Once because of my own thinking
I was lost and I was sinking, oh so low
Living down in the darkness of my mind
Where the righteous do not go
Till the day I fully realized that God could deliver me and more
Raise me up to higher heights and give me joy
I’d never had before

And I thank Him for the miracle
That brought me from the wrong to the right
The miracle that saved me that brought me
From the darkness to the light
And I thank Him for the never-ending song
Of joy I sing
And I thank Him for the miracle that made me
A child of the King

In the darkness of my soul
I felt a longing just to trust in His embrace
And I said, “Lord, can I love You, can I hope to ever look upon Your face”
Then I took Him at His Word
That said believe in ME and you will never fall
Believe in ME and you will be
As if you’d never strayed away at all

And I thank Him for the miracle
That brought me from the wrong to the right
The miracle that saved me that brought me
From the darkness to the light
And I thank Him for the never-ending song
Of joy I sing
And I thank Him for the miracle that made me
A child of the King

WON'T IT BE WONDERFUL THERE

Chris Allman

When I think of Heaven and all that's to come
I can't help but long for that day
When Jesus is given the word to return
And takes us with Him there to stay

What a joy it will be when we meet over yonder
Loved ones who've gone on before will be there
Joint heirs with Christ, we shall live there forever
Never a heartache nor a burden to bear
There'll be no sorrow, no sadness or fear
Won't it be wonderful there
Won't it be wonderful there

John wrote about all the beauty we'll see
When we reach that glorious place
But what will make Heaven so precious to me
Is when I see my sweet Savior's face

What a joy it will be when we meet over yonder
Loved ones who've gone on before will be there
Joint heirs with Christ, we shall live there forever
Never a heartache nor a burden to bear
There'll be no sorrow, no sadness or fear
Won't it be wonderful there
Won't it be wonderful there

WITHOUT A VALLEY

Rodney Griffin

I've been walking through a valley
It was dark, and it was drear

Yet in the middle of my sorrow
I heard Jesus say, "Child, I'm still here"

But without a valley
How would I ever know
That His strong and gentle hand

Would never let me go
How would I know for sure
That I'm secure and safe wherever I go
Without a valley
How would I know

So I thank you, Lord, for each trial
How You're teaching me Your perfect love
For You have shown that I can still have joy inside
Even though the road seems long and rough

But without a valley
How would I ever know
That His strong and gentle hand

Would never let me go
How would I know for sure
That I'm secure and safe wherever I go
Without a valley
How would I know

GOD'S GRACE IS SUFFICIENT FOR ME

Rodney Griffin
God’s grace is sufficient for me, for me
God’s grace is sufficient for me
When it seems all hope is gone, He is high upon His throne
Working out the plan He started in me
Even when the way is dark, and I can’t see very far
He the Bright and Shining Light will be
I will worship and proclaim and give glory to His name
For His grace is sufficient for me

God’s grace was sufficient for Elijah
As He was standing there upon the mount
All the prophets of Baal, they began to scream and yell
But their god didn’t even make a sound
Then Elijah prayed through, just to see what God would do
And the fire of the Lord did fall
It consumed the sacrifice with a single flash of light
And Jehovah God was worshiped by all

God’s grace is sufficient for me, for me
God’s grace is sufficient for me
When it seems all hope is gone, He is high upon His throne
Working out the plan He started in me
Even when the way is dark, and I can’t see very far
He the Bright and Shining Light will be
I will worship and proclaim and give glory to His name
For His grace is sufficient for me

God’s grace was sufficient for ol’ Jonah
As he was sittin’ in the belly of the whale
Ol’ Jonah should have died, but the Lord kept him alive
So that he would have a story he could tell
Well, then Jonah prayed through just to see what God would do
And the fish came a swimmin’ to the shore
Well, he spit ol’ Jonah out, and when Jonah hit the ground
He was preaching like he’d never before

God’s grace is sufficient for me, for me
God’s grace is sufficient for me
When it seems all hope is gone, He is high upon His throne
Working out the plan He started in me
Even when the way is dark, and I can’t see very far
He the Bright and Shining Light will be
I will worship and proclaim and give glory to His name
For His grace is sufficient for me

THE SHEPHERD'S POINT OF VIEW

Sandy Blythe

You are standing on the mountain
Holding to the Shepherd's hand,
The valley you just came through
Was hard to understand.
Then the Shepherd draws you closer,
There's something He wants you to see,
And He points back to the valley
And unfolds its mysteries.

As the eagles soar around you
And you look back on where you've been,
One by one He answers questions
That He did not answer then.
He now shows you the danger
Of going your own way
All those roads you thought were better
Would have led your soul astray.

He reminds you of that moment
When you could not make it through.
Now you see one set of footprints
Where He reached down and carried you.
As your tears fall on His shoulder,
And you thank Him for His love,
He says, "Child, I knew that one day,
You'd see this valley from above."

Things look different on the mountain
From the Shepherd's point of view
Standing high above the trial
That He brought you safely through.
All the valley's disappointments
Will never look the same to you
For things look different on the mountain
From the Shepherd's point of view.

COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS

Buddy Mullins and Mark Willett

Tired, frustrated and feeling down
The end of the day has you wearing a frown
Your troubles have doubled and friend, what can you do?
Here's a little advice, pound for pound
It's guaranteed to bring you around
From an old sob story to a brand new point of view

Count your blessings when you’re feeling blue,
It’s surprising what a little bit of counting will do,
Count ‘em when ever thing goes wrong,
Soon you’ll find yourself singing a song,
Count ‘em whether they be big or small,
You just might have trouble counting them all,
Your problems will simply fade from view
If you’ll just start counting your blessings.

Some people today, they drive me insane
All they want to do is fuss and complain
About who, what, when, where, how they've been done wrong
For so long
Find less time for worry, more time for prayer
You'll have a lot less stress and a lot more hair
When you find you're done counting,
You'll be shouting 'cause you're back on your feet.

Count your blessings when you’re feeling blue,
It’s surprising what a little bit of counting will do,
Count ‘em when ever thing goes wrong,
Soon you’ll find yourself singing a song,
Count ‘em whether they be big or small,
You just might have trouble counting them all,
Your problems will simply fade from view
If you’ll just start counting your blessings.

PRESS ON

Katie Knopp

Remember Paul and Silas,
Bound in stocks and chains
Yet they sang a song of joy
In the midst of their pain
There was Daniel in the lion's den
The Hebrews in the fire
They all stood strong and suffered long
They trusted in God's power

It's in the midnight hour
When you're hanging by a thread
And you've cried all your tears
In all the prayers you've said
That's when Jesus comes a runnin'
And He takes you by the hand
Just hold on you can make it
Press on; morning's coming,
Press on.

Now if your heart's been broken
Like a shattered piece of glass
And you wonder if the pain you feel
Is ever gonna pass
And when the darkness surrounds you
It might seem to have no end
Just keep holding on; it won't be long
And you'll see the sun again.

It's in the midnight hour
When you're hanging by a thread
And you've cried all your tears
In all the prayers you've said
That's when Jesus comes a runnin'
And He takes you by the hand
Just hold on you can make it
Press on; morning's coming,
Press on.

(Special thanks to Felycia for sending me this great song!)

TEN THOUSAND YEARS

Elmer Cole

Soon I'll come to the end of my journey
And I'll meet the One who gave His life for me.
I will thank Him for the love that He gave me
And ten thousand years or more I'll reign with Him.

Ten thousand years, we'll just be started.
Ten thousand years, we've just begun.
The battle is over and the victory's been won.
Ten thousand years, and we've just begun.

We will just begin to sing love's sweet story.
It's a song that the angels cannot sing.
I'm redeemed by the blood of my Savior,
And ten thousand years or more, I'll praise His Name!

Ten thousand years, we'll just be started.
Ten thousand years, we've just begun.
The battle is over and the victory's been won.
Ten thousand years, and we've just begun.

WHEN LIFE GETS BROKEN

Matt Hybarger and Michael O'Brien

Hands reaching out
No one to hold
You've been abandoned
With no place to go
Wounded and wanting
Such desperate times
Cold bitter tears are filling your eyes

Get a glimpse of Jesus
For He is right there with you
He knows just what you need

When life gets broken
And you're in despair
He'll carry your burden
When it's too much to bear
It's down in the valley
Where He'll give you strength
And there is nothing you have lost
That He can't replace
He'll help you start all over again
When life gets broken

You hoped God would heal her
But she went home anyway
Now it's hard to imagine
How you'll make it through the day
Weeks turn to years
Time's passing you by
But you're still holding on
To the how's and the why's

Get a glimpse of Jesus
For He is right there with you
He knows just what you need

When life gets broken
And you're in despair
He'll carry your burden
When it's too much to bear
It's down in the valley
Where He'll give you strength
And there is nothing you have lost
That He can't replace
He'll help you start all over again
When life gets broken

Healing waters
Heal our troubled souls
Jesus, sweet Jesus
Cleanse and make us whole

When life gets broken
And you're in despair
He'll carry your burden
When it's too much to bear
It's down in the valley
Where He'll give you strength
And there is nothing you have lost
That He can't replace
He'll help you start all over again
He'll help you start all over again
When life gets broken

GO TELL THE WORLD

Ronnie Hinson

He doesn't have to keep another promise
Every prophecy He made has been fulfilled
The season of His coming is upon us
Then this world will know what Jesus said is real

Go tell the world it's not a story
Go tell the world He left the tomb
Go tell the world He's now in Glory
Go tell the world He'll be back; He's coming soon.

It's time to sound alarms and heed the warning
Christians have to make the message clear
Be ready; He may come before the morning
If they miss it, they can't say they didn't hear

Go tell the world it's not a story
Go tell the world He left the tomb
Go tell the world He's now in Glory
Go tell the world He'll be back; He's coming soon.

If we stand, the weak will lean upon us
If we shine, the blind will see the light
We're so sinner-friendly, we're dishonest
What's wrong with telling sinners to get right?

Go tell the world it's not a story
Go tell the world He left the tomb
Go tell the world He's now in Glory
Go tell the world He'll be back; He's coming soon.

COME TO THE THRONE OF GRACE

Come to the Throne of Grace
Don't be afraid
I won't turn you away
Just let Me into your heart
And My love will wash your tears away

I know you
I know you completely
And on your darkest journey
I have been with you
All the weight of guilt and shame
You carry on your shoulders
It's time to hand it over
And let it go

Come to the Throne of Grace
Don't be afraid
I won't turn you away
Just let Me into your heart
And My love will wash your tears away

I can hear the silent tears
Above the noise and laughter
The things you're running after
Will let you down
So here I stand before you now
With arms of love to hold you
Let my grace enfold you
And come to me...
Run to me!

Come to the Throne of Grace
Don't be afraid
I won't turn you away
Just let Me into your heart
And My love will wash your tears away...

Come...
Just come...
Come...

VOICE OF THE SAVIOR

Some people try to listen to the bottom of a bottle
Some people try to listen to a needle in their arm
Some people try to listen to the money in their pocket
Some people try to listen to another's arms

You and I are not that different
We got a void, and we're just trying to fill it up
With something that'll give just a little peace
All we want is a hand to reach to
Open arms that say, "I love you"
We'd give anything to hear
The voice of the Savior

Some people try to find it with blind ambition
Some people try to find it where no one else has gone
Some people try to find it in the crowns of victory
Some people get defeated and lose the strength to carry on

You and I are not that different
We got a void, and we're just trying to fill it up
With something that'll give just a little peace
All we want is a hand to reach to
Open arms that say, "I love you"
We'd give anything to hear
The voice of the Savior

Some people try to find it in the shadow of a steeple
Some people try to find it in the back row pew
Some people try to find it in the arms of Jesus
That's where I found it; how about you?

You and I are not that different
We got a void, and we're just trying to fill it up
With something that'll give just a little peace
All we want is a hand to reach to
Open arms that say, "I love you"
We'd give anything to hear
The voice of the Savior

FEELING MIGHTY FINE

(Can't find the author)

I woke up this morning feeling fine
I woke up with Heaven on my mind
I woke up with joy in my soul
'Cause I knew my Lord had control
I knew I was walkin' in the light
'Cause I'd been on my knees in the night
And I prayed till the Lord gave a sign
And now I'm feeling mighty fine

Well, I'm feeling mighty fine
I've got Heaven on my mind
Don't you know I want to go
Where the milk and honey flow
There's a light that always shines
Down inside this heart of mine
I've got Heaven on my mind
And I'm feeling, feeling mighty fine

We're walking with Jesus all the time
We're walking and talking as we climb
We're traveling a road to the sky
Where I know I'll live when I die
He's been telling me all about that land
And He tells me that everything is grand
And He says that a home will be mine
And now I'm feeling mighty fine

Well, I'm feeling mighty fine
I've got Heaven on my mind
Don't you know I want to go
Where the milk and honey flow
There's a light that always shines
Down inside this heart of mine
I've got Heaven on my mind
And I'm feeling, feeling mighty fine

GOD WILL CLOSE THE DOOR

Kenna Turner West, Sue C. Smith, Simon Hawkins

The ark was built and two by two
They went inside and stayed
Though he'd never seen a storm
Noah just obeyed
The sky was bright and blue
But Noah still believed
And what God did for him
I know He'll do for me

God will close the door
When the storm clouds gather round me
When the waters roar
His hand will protect me
I run to His mercy
And like He's done before
God will close the door

I've seen God open doors of opportunity
He's opened windows of His love
And blessings rain on me
But I'm as thankful for
The times when He says, "No"
And I believe, without a doubt
That when I need it most

God will close the door
When the storm clouds gather round me
When the waters roar
His hand will protect me
I run to His mercy
And like He's done before
God will close the door

Yeah, He'll shut it
Lock it
Hold on to the key
And when the flood is over
He'll be taking care of me

God will close the door
When the storm clouds gather round me
When the waters roar
His hand will protect me
I run to His mercy
And like He's done before
God will close the door

PATCHING IT UP

Steve Gulley

It seems that every time I need Him
My Lord is always there;
When no one else seems to have the time,
Jesus always cares;
I wonder just what I might do
If I called His name one day
And the Heavens above just opened up,
And I heard my Saviour say.

"I'm through patching it up,
I'm through giving you love
Though your world is torn apart,
And I'll never again wash away your sin
Or mend your broken heart,
I'm through bearing your burden's

And all of your hurt'n
And giving your poor heart ease.
Tell me why should I do anything for you;
You never do anything for me."

But I thank my God in Heaven each night
My Lord is not that way
I know He's watching over me
Each and every single day
And I don't have to wonder about His love
'Cause his mercy flows so free
And I know just exactly what He'll say
When I'm down on my knees

I'll always patch things up,
I'll always give you love,
When you world is torn apart
No matter where you've been,
I'll wash away your sin
And mend your broken heart.
I'll always bear all your burdens

And all of your hurt'n
And give your poor heart ease;
Yes, I'll always do anything for you
No matter what you do to me.

PRAISE GOD, IT'S SETTLED, I'M SAVED

Larry Petree

Rivers of joy are now flooding my soul
I know my sin debt is paid
I'm forgiven of my sin, and I've been born again
Praise God, it's settled, I'm saved!

Praise God, what a wonderful peace I have found
It's settled; I know that my name's written down
I'm saved; I'm free, no longer a slave
Praise God, it's settled, I'm saved!

The burden of sin that I've carried so long
It's gone; Christ rose from the grave
And you can't make me doubt what I'm gonna shout
Praise God, it's settled, I'm saved!

Praise God, what a wonderful peace I have found
It's settled; I know that my name's written down
I'm saved; I'm free, no longer a slave
Praise God, it's settled, I'm saved!

ON THE BANKS OF THE PROMISED LAND

 Author Unknown

I have built my life on the solid Rock
Far away from the sinking sand
And I cast my eyes to the home that waits
On the banks of the Promised Land

There’s a song of praise that is lifted there
By the saints and the angel band
And I long to go and to join the choir
On the banks of the Promised Land

Hallelujah, what a morning
When I reach for that nail-scarred hand
And I'm led from grace to glory
On the banks of the Promised Land

Every grief and pain that has found me here
Jesus knows, and He understands
They'll be washed away as I cross death's stream
To the banks of the Promised Land

Hallelujah, what a morning
When I reach for that nail-scarred hand
And I'm led from grace to glory
On the banks of the Promised Land

Then I'll see the face of my Savior dear
Beckoned close by His sweet command
All my burdens gone; I will rest at last
On the banks of the Promised Land

Hallelujah, what a morning
When I reach for that nail-scarred hand
And I'm led from grace to glory
On the banks of the Promised Land

Oh, who will come and go with me?
I am bound for the promised land

HE'S ALREADY IN YOUR TOMORROW

Mark Lanier, Phil Cross

I have a Father, the Master of time
He holds the world in His hands
He looks from heaven and sees where you are
Arranging your life in His plans
Preparing you now, unfolding the way
To all your tomorrows and whatever you face

He's already in your tomorrow
He's walking one step ahead
Whether it's joy or it's sorrow
He'll do just what He said
He'll never leave you lonely
In the land of the great unknown
He's already in your tomorrow
Don't be afraid, keep pressing on

Often you struggle, looking ahead
Dreading tomorrow it seems
Embracing the present, forgetting the past
Giving up on your dreams
You're stranded between your faith and your fear
Yet no matter the conflict, the future is clear

He's already in your tomorrow
He's walking one step ahead
Whether it's joy or it's sorrow
He'll do just what He said
He'll never leave you lonely
In the land of the great unknown
He's already in your tomorrow
Don't be afraid, keep pressing on

HOME IS SOUNDING BETTER

Author Unknown

The more I hear about it
The more I long to go
To the land beyond the river
Where milk and honey flow
Though this world tries to make me feel as ease
No matter where I roam
My heart is just a stranger here
On its way to a place called Home

Sometimes I get so Homesick
I can hardly wait
To see my friends and loved ones
Inside the Eastern Gate
Though I've enjoyed this Christian journey
I'll be so glad when it's far behind
'Cause Home is sounding better all the time

If it had been left up to me
I'd be long gone from this place
And you would find me 'round the throne
Singing "Amazing Grace"
Oh, but my Father knows what's best for me
There's a reason I'm still here below
But that doesn't change where my heart really is
And where I long to go

Sometimes I get so Homesick
I can hardly wait
To see my friends and loved ones
Inside the Eastern Gate
Though I've enjoyed this Christian journey
I'll be so glad when it's far behind
'Cause Home is sounding better all the time

THE REDEEMER

Dan Gartley; Mark Graalman; Matt Hammitt; Peter Prevost; Chris Rohman; Christopher Stevens

Sometimes I just want to start over,
'Cause everything looks like a wreck
And I need the courage to carry on,
'Cause I can't see what's ahead
And there are places I've wished I could be,
Bbattles I've wanted to win
Dreams that have slipped through my hands
I may never get back again

But I'm still a dreamer, a believer
Oh, I've lost my faith in so many things,
But I still believe in You
'Cause You can make anything new

Sometimes I just wish we could say
All the things that are easy to hear
Ignore the injustice we see
And explain every unanswered prayer
But I'd rather speak honestly
And wear a tattered heart on my sleeve
'Cause in the middle of my broken dreams,
Redemption is here

And I'm still a dreamer, a believer
Oh, I've lost my faith in so many things,
But I still believe in You
'Cause You are the answer, the redeemer

Oh, I've given up on too many things,
But I'm not giving up on You
'Cause You can make anything new
I don't have every answer in life
But I'm trusting You one day at a time
'Cause You can make a weak heart stay alive forever
This is where Heaven and Earth collide
I lift my hands and give my life
This is how my weary heart stays alive

But I'm still a dreamer, a believer
Oh, I've lost my faith in so many things,
But I still believe in You
'Cause You can make anything new

HEALER OF YOUR HEART

 Author Unknown

Your broken, wounded heart is still your secret
The nights find you crying bitter tears
Sin's penalty; time will not erase it
You only want the pain to disappear

The Healer of your heart has compassion
The Healer of your heart knows your pain
Speak His name; He'll mend the shattered pieces
He's the only One who can make you whole again
You thought it was the end; He says, "It's just the start"
Jesus, the Healer of your heart.

His power breaks the chains that hold you captive
And in His name, there's victory at last
You can go on and live a life that's happy
No longer held a prisoner of the past

The Healer of your heart has compassion
The Healer of your heart knows your pain
Speak His name; He'll mend the shattered pieces
He's the only One who can make you whole again
You thought it was the end; He says, "It's just the start"
Jesus, the Healer of your heart.

HOLD ME, LORD

 Stephanie Brown

Sometimes, I just bow my head and cry
And there are times I feel I'm on a mountain high
When Satan comes to me, and I feel so all alone
I know that You are with me to help me be strong.

Hold me, Lord, when the storms of life are raging
Keep me in the hollow of Your hand
Touch me, Lord, when the storm clouds roll into my life
Just hold me, Lord, and everything will be alright

Resting in Your arms I know I'm safe from all harm
And when I cannot stand, I hold Your nail-scarred hand
When Satan comes to tempt me with the world and all its charms
I don't have to worry because I'm resting in Your arms

Hold me, Lord, when the storms of life are raging
Keep me in the hollow of Your hand
Touch me, Lord, when the storm clouds roll into my life
Just hold me, Lord, and everything will be alright

WISH YOU WERE HERE

 Michael C. Williams

I can just see them
Walking on the shores of heaven
Praising the lord
And watching the tide roll in
Friends that have gone on
Oh, how I miss you so
And somehow I know if you could
That you'd let me know

That you're doing fine
And it doesn't hurt anymore
Things couldn't be better
And heaven is worth waiting for
That you miss me too and til' then
You'll be praying for me
And I know if you could talk to me now
That here's what you'd say to me

Wish you were here
It's such a beautiful place
Wish you were here
Nothing but clear, sunny days
Well, it never rains
And no one complains
And we haven't seen a tear
We're having a great time
Wish you were here...

I can just see them
Walking on the shores together
They're talking with Jesus
Safe and secure in his love
Friends and loved ones
Walking in heavenly peace
And I know if they could
Talk to me now
That here's what they'd say to me

Wish you were here
It's such a beautiful place
Wish you were here
Nothing but clear, sunny days
Well, it never rains
And no one complains
And we haven't seen a tear
We're having a great time
Wish you were here...

Blessed Assurance

Fanny Crosby

Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine!
Oh, what a foretaste of glory divine!
Heir of salvation, purchase of God,
Born of His Spirit, washed in His blood.

This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Savior all the day long;
This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Savior all the day long.

Perfect submission, perfect delight,
Visions of rapture now burst on my sight;
Angels, descending, bring from above
Echoes of mercy, whispers of love.

This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Savior all the day long;
This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Savior all the day long.

Perfect submission, all is at rest,
I in my Savior am happy and blest,
Watching and waiting, looking above,
Filled with His goodness, lost in His love.

This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Savior all the day long;
This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Savior all the day long.

GOD MAKES NO MISTAKES

Kim Moore

My life I give to You, O Lord.
Use me, I pray.
May I glorify Your precious name
In all I do and say.
Let me trust You in the valley dark
As well as in the light,
Knowing You will always lead me;
Your will is always right.

I know God makes no mistakes.
He leads in every path I take
Along the way that's leading me to home.
Tho' at times my heart would break,
There's a purpose in every change He makes:
That others would see my life and know
That God makes no mistakes.

And when some day in heav'n above
I see His dear face,
May I then be counted faithful
As a runner in this race.
But now I'm trusting in the Savior
To show me the way.
In His righteousness He guides me,
As I seek to please Him day by day.

I know God makes no mistakes.
He leads in every path I take
Along the way that's leading me to home.
Tho' at times my heart would break,
There's a purpose in every change He makes:
That others would see my life and know
That God makes no mistakes.

MERCY CAME RUNNING

Dan Dean, Dave Clark, & Don Koch

Once there was a holy place,
Evidence of God's embrace,
And I can almost see Mercy's face
Pressed against the veil.
Looking down with longing eyes,
Mercy must have realized
That once His blood was sacrificed,
Freedom would prevail.
As the sky grew dark,
And the earth began to shake
With justice no longer in the way,

Mercy came running
Like a prisoner set free
Past all my failures
To the point of my need.
When the sin that I carried
Was all I could see,
And when I could not reach Mercy,
Mercy came running to me.

Once there was a broken heart,
Way too human from the start
And all the years left it torn apart,
Hopeless and afraid.
Walls I never meant to build
Left this prisoner unfulfilled.
Freedom called, but even still,
It seemed so far away.
I was bound by the chains
From the wages of my sin.
Just when I felt like giving in,

Mercy came running
Like a prisoner set free
Past all my failures
To the point of my need.
When the sin that I carried
Was all I could see,
And when I could not reach Mercy,
Mercy came running to me.

Sometimes I still feel so far,
So far from where I really should be.
He gently calls to my heart,
Just to remind me.

Mercy came running
Like a prisoner set free
Past all my failures
To the point of my need.
When the sin that I carried
Was all I could see,
And when I could not reach Mercy,
Mercy came running to me.

BETTER THAN A HALLELUJAH

Sarah Hart & Chapin Hartford

God loves a lullaby
In a mothers tears in the dead of night
Better than a Hallelujah sometimes.
God loves a drunkards cry;
The soldiers plea not to let him die
Better than a Hallelujah sometimes.

We pour out our miseries
God just hears a melody
Beautiful the mess we are
The honest cries of breaking hearts
Are better than a Hallelujah

The woman holding on for life,
The dying man giving up the fight
Are better than a Hallelujah sometimes
The tears of shame for what's been done,
The silence when the words won't come
Are better than a Hallelujah sometimes.

We pour out our miseries
God just hears a melody
Beautiful the mess we are
The honest cries of breaking hearts
Are better than a Hallelujah

Better than a church bell ringing,
Better than a choir singing out, singing out.

We pour out our miseries
God just hears a melody
Beautiful the mess we are
The honest cries of breaking hearts
Are better than a Hallelujah

THE LIGHT IN ME

Daniel Muckala & Brandon Knell

My life before You
I was a flame burning down
I was burning out

But You knew me better
For You there was never a doubt
God, since You gave me life
Something was different, I knew it the instant
You put the light in me

The spark, the shot to the heart
You are the hope that leads me out of the dark
You let Your love shine down
So that the world could see
You put the light in me

The light, you put the light in me
The light, you put the light in me
The light, you put the light in me
The light, you put the light in me

You are the Maker; You tell the sun when to rise
I'm just a house on a hill
But You make me brighter than all the stars in the sky
Keep me from growing dim

'Cause in Your perfection, I'm just a reflection
So pull me closer to You
I catch like a fire and I'll hold You higher
'Cause You put the light in me

The spark, the shot to the heart
You are the hope that leads me out of the dark
You let Your love shine down
So that the world could see
You put the light in me

The light, you put the light in me
The light, you put the light in me
The light, you put the light in me
The light, you put the light in me

I'll raise it high, I'll let it show
From the rooftops down to the streets below
In day and night, You will be known
And all will see
You put the light in me

THERE IS HOPE

Mark Lowry & Bruce Collins
Sometimes we go through trials that are so hard to bear
We lift our face toward heaven, "God, are You really there?"
But I've asked that same question, and I've been down that road
Looking back, I now can tell You, He's always let me know

There is hope, so hold on, there is hope
God has sent me here to tell you, "There is hope"
And He knows just what you're going through
And what the future holds
As long as Jesus lives, there is hope

He was bruised for our transgressions and nailed upon a tree
He cried out to the Father, "Why have You forsaken me?"
But through this suffering Savior, He brought healing to our pain
And the One Who raised Him from the dead can restore us all again

There is hope, so hold on, there is hope
God has sent me here to tell you, "There is hope"
And He knows just what you're going through
And what the future holds
As long as Jesus lives, there is hope

He promised He would share our sorrows and bear our heavy load
This road that we are traveling will one day turn to gold

There is hope, so hold on, there is hope
God has sent me here to tell you, "There is hope"
And He knows just what you're going through
And what the future holds
As long as Jesus lives, there is hope

I HAVE A HOPE

Johnny Minick

What's the big deal? Why all the excitement?
Folks say to me wherever I go
Why get so loud? Why all the emotion?
There is no cause to make such a show
If they only knew the change in me
When I found the hope that set me free
I can't help but shout, for I know without doubt
That I have a hope

I have a hope; it's not just emotion
I have a hope that anchors my soul
It's more than a dream, more than a notion
It brings me new life and it sings in the night
I have a hope

This hope that I have, He's lived through the ages
He's never changed; He's always the same
When I read His Word, He walks through the pages
Something goes through me when I hear His name
His name is Counselor and Friend
He is the One on Whom I depend
His Word is my sword; yes, Jesus is Lord
I have a hope

I have a hope; it's not just emotion
I have a hope that anchors my soul
It's more than a dream, more than a notion
It brings me new life and it sings in the night
I have a hope

NO NEED TO DOUBT HIM NOW

Roy E. Coble, Jr. and Sydney G. Coble

Looking back through the years
The heartaches and tears
My Lord has never once let me down
Though I don't understand
Still I trust in His plan
For He said that His grace would abound.

No need to doubt Him now
He'll make a way somehow
Safely this far Jesus has brought me
No need to doubt Him now.

Child of God, have no fear
Though your path seems unclear
Some day God's plan will unfold
He has never, never failed
He has always prevailed
The Lord is still in control.

No need to doubt Him now
He'll make a way somehow
Safely this far Jesus has brought me
No need to doubt Him now.

There's Still Room, There's Still Hope, There's Still Time

Rodney Griffin

There's still room at the cross
For another heavy burden
To be left by a weary passerby
There's still hope for your cause
For a loving God is waiting
To restore to you the joy you felt inside
There's still time to decide
That the Father really loves you
And it's true, He'll never leave your side
No matter what you've heard
You can believe His Word
There's still room
There's still hope
There's still time

God's Word has been revealed for all to hear
Jesus loves you; He cares
So when the storms of life are drawing near
He your heartache will share

There's still room at the cross
For another heavy burden
To be left by a weary passerby
There's still hope for your cause
For a loving God is waiting
To restore to you the joy you felt inside
There's still time to decide
That the Father really loves you
And it's true, He'll never leave your side
No matter what you've heard
You can believe His Word
There's still room
There's still hope
There's still time

You may wonder if the Lord is looking on
Can He comfort my heart
There's room for your burden at the cross
Lay it down where you are

There's still room at the cross
For another heavy burden
To be left by a weary passerby
There's still hope for your cause
For a loving God is waiting
To restore to you the joy you felt inside
There's still time to decide
That the Father really loves you
And it's true, He'll never leave your side
No matter what you've heard
You can believe His Word
There's still room
There's still hope
There's still time

NEW GRACE

Tom Hayes

All of grace is my story
All the way from Earth to Glory
Since by grace He lifted me from sin and woe
Living grace He has extended
As on Him my heart depended
He'll give new grace when it's my time to go.

Grace not yet discovered
Grace not yet uncovered
Grace from His bountiful store
Grace to cross the river
And grace to face forever
But there'll be new grace I've not needed before.

There's been grace for every mile
There's been grace for every trial
There's been grace sufficient from His vast supply
Grace to make my heart more tender
Grace to love and pray for sinners
But there'll be new grace when it's my time to die.
Grace not yet discovered
Grace not yet uncovered
Grace from His bountiful store
Grace to cross the river
And grace to face forever
But there'll be new grace I've not needed before.

WHAT A BEAUTIFUL DAY

Aaron Wilburn, Eddie Crook

As I wake up with the morning of each day that passes by,
And I listen to the sounds upon my ear;
I can’t help but keep a watch toward the eastern sky,
And I wonder if the trumpet will be the next sound that I hear.

What a beautiful day for the Lord to come again,
What a beautiful day for Him to take His children home;
How I long to see His face and to touch His nail-scarred hands,
What a beautiful day for the Lord to come again.

Oh, my earthly disappointments and trials here below,
Fade away when I remember His last words;
He said He’d return and receive His children unto Him,
And I’m longing just to look upon the face of my Lord.

Oh, what a beautiful day for the Lord to come again,
What a beautiful day for Him to take His children home;
How I long to see His face and to touch His nail-scarred hands,
What a beautiful day for the Lord to come again.

70 x 7

Matt McFarland

Oh, Lord, Its hard to believe
How many times I’ve been wronged and deceived
By someone who calls you Father
Someone who calls You Friend
I don’t mean to be a bother
Will this ever end?
How many times must I say “I forgive you”?
Then I’m reminded of what you said in Matthew

Over and over and then one more time again
If someone needs forgiveness, give it up to them
Let go of all the bitterness
That your hearts hold in
Remember the times you’ve been forgiven
70 x 7

I know I’ve heard that story a thousand times before
But what I don’t understand is how to do it, Lord
Will You give me the strength and power to endure?
'Cause I can’t do it alone, This I know for sure
I’ve always been out to hurt those who hurt me
Lord, help me live by Your words of mercy

Over and over and then one more time again
If someone needs forgiveness, give it up to them
Let go of all the bitterness
That your hearts hold in
Remember the times you’ve been forgiven
70 x 7

JOY UNSPEAKABLE

Barney E. Warren

I have found His grace is all complete,
He supplieth every need;
While I sit and learn at Jesus’ feet,
I am free, yes, free indeed.

I have found the pleasure I once craved,
It is joy and peace within;
What a wondrous blessing, I am saved
From the awful gulf of sin.

It is joy unspeakable and full of glory,
Full of glory, full of glory;
It is joy unspeakable and full of glory,
Oh, the half has never yet been told.

I have found that hope so bright and clear,
Living in the realm of grace;
Oh, the Savior’s presence is so near,
I can see His smiling face.

I have found the joy no tongue can tell,
How its waves of glory roll;
It is like a great o’erflowing well,
Springing up within my soul.

It is joy unspeakable and full of glory,
Full of glory, full of glory;
It is joy unspeakable and full of glory,
Oh, the half has never yet been told.

DON'T LET ME LOSE SIGHT

Jim Brady

It crossed my mind again
Just how my life would be
Had the Father’s mercy
Not included me
I saw myself still drifting
On a raging sea
Farther out from nowhere
Hurting endlessly
And turning back this page of time
It all comes into view
I realize I’m nothing without You

Don’t let me lose sight
Of who You are
Lord, help me remember
My life before You came
May I never forget
Your sacrifice and Your pain
Don’t let me lose sight
Of who You are

My mind can’t comprehend
The sacrifice You made
To redeem this hurting soul
An awesome price was paid
You endured the suffering,
Took all my shame
Faced the bitter agony
As they mocked Your name
And when I look back to the cross
I clearly see the truth
I know my life is worthless without You

Don’t let me lose sight
Of who You are
Lord, help me remember
My life before You came
May I never forget
Your sacrifice and Your pain
Don’t let me lose sight
Of who You are

LEAD ME TO THE CROSS

Savior, I come
Quiet my soul; remember
Redemption's hill
Where Your blood was spilled
For my ransom
Everything I once held dear
I count it all as loss

Lead me to the cross
Where Your love poured out
Bring me to my knees
Lord, I lay me down
Rid me of myself
I belong to You
Oh lead me, lead me to the cross

You were as I
Tempted and tried
Human
The Word became flesh
Bore my sin and death
Now You're risen
Everything I once held dear
I count it all as loss

Lead me to the cross
Where Your love poured out
Bring me to my knees
Lord, I lay me down
Rid me of myself
I belong to You
Oh lead me, lead me to the cross

KEEP ON

Rebecca Dibler

Trouble's all around you
The devil is telling you
To sit down and give up your cross
A voice from Heaven
Is calling your name
God is telling you,
"There's more to gain."
Don't give up and don't surrender
You can just remember

You gotta keep on keeping on
Keep on walking strong
Keep on singing a song
Though the battle is raging
The devil is fighting
The storm clouds are frightening
The rain is falling
You gotta keep on keeping on

Now, you're going through a battle
And your faith is gettin' weak
You feel like giving in
And you wanna retreat
Don't turn around
Keep on walking
Just remember God is talking

You gotta keep on keeping on
Keep on walking strong
Keep on singing a song
Though the battle is raging
The devil is fighting
The storm clouds are frightening
The rain is falling,
You gotta keep on keeping on

HOLD ME WHILE I CRY

Gerald Crabb

It's been one of those days
If anything could go wrong it went wrong
I know I'm feeling sorry for me
There's a lot of self-pity going on
Tomorrow I will be okay
The dawn will bring a brand new day
I'm sure by then I'll be fine
Lord, today I really need a friend
I know that you would understand
Would you hold me while I cry?

I take a lot of your time
When I should be strong
I should be standing by now
When it's you I'm leaning on
You've always kept me safe from harm,
Like a child in your arms
You've cradled me through hardships faced in life
Lord, it's just one of those days
I've been fought in every way
Will you hold me while I cry?

I try to be strong but if anyone can fall apart,
I fall apart
I run back to you again,
And you heal my broken heart
You have truly been a friend,
Reaching out to lend a hand,
Lord, when you could have passed me by
I'm asking for your strength today
Lift my spirit, Lord, I pray
Will you just hold me while I cry

I take a lot of your time
When I should be strong
I should be standing by now
When it's you I'm leaning on
You've always kept me safe from harm
Like a child in your arms
You've cradled me through hardships faced in life
Lord it's just one of those days
I've been fought in every way
Will you hold me while I cry?

I LIFT MY HANDS

Chris Tomlin, Matt Maher, Louie Giglio

Be still, there is a Healer
His love is deeper than the sea
His mercy, it is unfailing
His arms are a fortress for the weak

Let faith arise
Let faith arise

I lift my hands to believe again
You are my refuge, You are my strength
As I pour out my heart
These things, I remember
You are faithful, God, forever

Be still, there is a river
That flows from Calvary's tree
A fountain for the thirsty
Pure grace that washes over me

Let faith arise
Let faith arise

I lift my hands to believe again
You are my refuge, You are my strength
As I pour out my heart
These things, I remember
You are faithful, God, forever

HE'D STILL BEEN GOD

Rodney Griffin

Master, carest Thou not that we perish?
Can't You see that we're about to die?
This boat we're on is surely going under;
"Save us now!" His disciples cried.
So Jesus rose to stand against the tempest
Knowing His disciples had no faith
Just to prove that He was still the Master
He spoke, and the winds and seas obeyed.

But He'd still been God
Even if He'd never calmed a storm on a raging sea
He'd still been God
Even if He'd never caused a blinded eye to see
He'd still been God
Even if He'd never brought a crippled man to his feet
It's not about what He did,
It's all about who He was
'Cause even if He'd never come and done a single miracle
Then Jesus would've still been God

Mary was His loving, earthly mother
She understood the purpose of her Son
Ever since the angel'd come and told her
"This child is the blessed Son of God"
So when she'd see the people gather 'round Him
Watching for a miracle to prove
That He would be their One and great Messiah
She just smiled 'cause she already knew

That He'd still been God
Even if He'd never calmed a storm on a raging sea
He'd still been God
Even if He'd never caused a blinded eye to see
He'd still been God
Even if He'd never brought a crippled man to his feet
It's not about what He did,
It's all about who He was
'Cause even if He'd never come and done a single miracle
Then Jesus would've still been God

UNDER HIS WINGS

Author Unknown

My way was filled with danger
And I felt so alone
The enemy had singled me
Out to do wrong
And when he drew near
My heart filled with fear
Then I heard someone dear
Calling me to His side

And I ran under His wings
There He covered me, and now I can see
The enemy still looks for me
But what he can't see
Is that I'm under my Lord's wings
Under His wings

The thunder rolled
Dark clouds hung low
I was out in a storm
I was shivering in the coldest night
No safe retreat from harm
And there blew strong winds
Would this be my end?
And then I heard my Friend
Callin' me to His side

And I ran under His wings
There He covered me
And now I can see
The storm still rages
Oh, but in the Rock of Ages
We're resting warmly here
Under our Lord's wings

Under His wings, Under His wings
Who from His love can sever?
Under His wings My soul shall abide
Safely abide forever!

I BELIEVE, HELP THOU MY UNBELIEF

Bill and Gloria Gaither

I believe help thou my unbelief
I'd take the finite risk of trusting like a child
I believe help thou my unbelief
I walk into the unknown trusting all the while

I long so much to feel the warmth that others seem to know
but should I never feel a thing I claim him even so

I believe help thou my unbelief
I walk into the unknown trusting all the while

JESUS SPEAKING PEACE

Melissa Brady, Niles Borop and Rebecca Peck

The clouds begin to gather,
Thunder rolls across the sky
And my heart starts to fear
What is only passing by
But deep down inside. . .

I hear Jesus speaking peace to my soul
He tenderly calls. His gentle voice consoles
The storm may be raging with
One word from my Lord will calm the waves and wind
It’s Jesus speaking peace to my soul.

The Master of Creation
All of nature must obey
I can know that He is here
But sometimes I still lack faith
And though I’m afraid. . .

I hear Jesus speaking peace to my soul
He tenderly calls. His gentle voice consoles
The storm may be raging with
One word from my Lord will calm the waves and wind
It’s Jesus speaking peace to my soul.

GOD BLESS THE USA

Lee Greenwood

If tomorrow all the things were gone,
I’d worked for all my life.
And I had to start again,
With just my children and my wife.
I’d thank my [God above],
To be livin' here today.
‘Cause the flag still stands for freedom,
And they can’t take that away.

And I’m proud to be an American,
Where at least I know I’m free.
And I won't forget the men who died,
Who gave that right to me.
And I'll gladly stand up,
Next to you and defend her still today.
‘Cause there ain’t no doubt I love this land,
God bless the USA.

From the lakes of Minnesota,
To the hills of Tennessee.
Across the plains of Texas,
From sea to shining sea.
From Detroit down to Houston,
And New York to L.A.
Well there's pride in every American heart,
And it's time we stand and say.

That I’m proud to be an American,
Where at least I know I’m free.
And I won't forget the men who died,
Who gave that right to me.
And I'll gladly stand up,
Next to you and defend her still today.
‘Cause there ain’t no doubt I love this land,
God bless the USA.

IT'S STILL THE CROSS

Niles Borop, Buddy Mullins,
Mike Harland, & Luke Garrett

It's not conservative or liberal,
However they're defined,
It's not about interpretation,
Or the judgment of the mind;
It's the opposite of politics,
Power or prestige,
It's about a simple message
And whether we believe.

It's still the cross
It's still the blood of Calvary
That cleanses sin
And sets the captive free;
It's still the name,
The name of Jesus
That has power to save the lost
It's still the cross.

We can water down theology
And preach a word to suit our needs,
We can justify sweet subtle lies
That are wrapped in noble deeds;
We can alter our convictions
To adapt to social wills,
But we cannot change the gospel
Or the truth contained within.

It's still the cross
It's still the blood of Calvary
That cleanses sin
And sets the captive free;
It's still the name,
The name of Jesus
That has power to save the lost
It's still the cross.

Though some may says it's man's religion
Or ancient history
The cross of Jesus still remains the price for sin
That sets us free

It's still the cross
It's still the blood of Calvary
That cleanses sin
And sets the captive free;
It's still the name,
The name of Jesus
That has power to save the lost
It's still the cross.

HIS STRENGTH IS PERFECT

Steven Curtis Chapman; Jr. Salley

I can do all things
Through Christ who gives me strength,
But sometimes I wonder what He can do through me;
No great success to show, No glory on my own,
Yet in my weakness He is there to let me know . . .

His strength is perfect when our strength is gone;
He’ll carry us when we can’t carry on.
Raised in His power, the weak become strong;
His strength is perfect, His strength is perfect.

We can only know
The power that He holds
When we truly see how deep our weakness goes;
His strength in us begins
Where ours comes to an end.
He hears our humble cry and proves again . . .

His strength is perfect when our strength is gone;
He’ll carry us when we can’t carry on.
Raised in His power, the weak become strong;
His strength is perfect, His strength is perfect.

BEAUTIFUL THINGS

Michael & Lisa Gungor

All this pain
I wonder if I’ll ever find my way
I wonder if my life could really change at all

All this earth
Could all that is lost ever be found
Could a garden come up from this ground at all

You make beautiful things
You make beautiful things out of the dust
You make beautiful things
You make beautiful things out of us

All around
Hope is springing up from this old ground
Out of chaos life is being found in You

You make beautiful things
You make beautiful things out of the dust
You make beautiful things
You make beautiful things out of us

THE SOURCE OF MY SONG

Rodney Griffin

Oh, the source of my song is the Savior
The reason for my singing is the Man from Galilee
It does not depend upon my circumstances
For Jesus is the source of my song

Life is a song worth singing
Though it can be a hard melody
But, if we keep our eyes on Jesus
He will turn the pain into perfect harmony

Oh, the source of my song is the Savior
The reason for my singing is the Man from Galilee
It does not depend upon my circumstances
For Jesus is the source of my song

If we only sing when we're happy
We will not be singing very long
But, if we're singing while the battle's raging
The world will know that Jesus is the source of our song.

Oh, the source of my song is the Savior
The reason for my singing is the Man from Galilee
It does not depend upon my circumstances
For Jesus is the source of my song

IN THE SAVIOR'S HAND

Tracy Jones & Ricky Atkinson

Today I face a mountain, oh so high
And I do not know what’s waiting on the other side
But I know enough to know - He’ll see me through again
I’m glad to know, it’s in the Savior’s hand

There will be grace, grace to make it through this trial
There will be strength, strength to walk another mile
There will be hope when I’ve done all I can
I’m glad to know it’s in the Savior’s hand

Those hands have seen me through my darkest days
They have dried my tears and helped to guide me on my way
So I know He’ll safely see me through the fire again
I’m glad to know it’s in the Savior’s hands

There will be grace, grace to make it through this trial
There will be strength, strength to walk another mile
There will be hope when I’ve done all I can
I’m glad to know it’s in the Savior’s hand

Those hands that hold the universe
Will hold me now
And the hands that calm the stormy sea
Will calm my storm somehow

There will be grace, grace to make it through this trial
There will be strength, strength to walk another mile
There will be hope when I’ve done all I can
I’m glad to know it’s in the Savior’s hand

FOREVER AND EVER I DO

Today's post is dedicated to my precious husband of 14 years. Happy anniversary, Jason!

Becky Matthews

I always dreamed I'd have someone like you
Who would love me just the way you do
And this feeling that we share
I know God has placed there
Because I know our love is true

So till death do we part,
I'll give you my heart
And as long as I have breath, I will whisper
That as long as there is you,
I'll be faithful and true
Forever and ever I do

If I could love you a hundred years and more
This feeling would be stronger than before
Because each day that we go
Our love seems to grow
And what a joy it is to know

So till death do we part,
I'll give you my heart
And as long as I have breath, I will whisper
That as long as there is you,
I'll be faithful and true
Forever and ever I do

LEAD ME

Matthew Hammitt, Jason Ingram, Christopher James Rohman

I look around and see my wonderful life
Almost perfect from the outside
In picture frames, I see my beautiful wife
Always smiling, but on the inside
Oh, I can hear her saying. . .

"Lead me with strong hands
Stand up when I can't
Don't leave me hungry for love
Chasing dreams, but what about us?
Show me you're willing to fight
That I'm still the love of your life
I know we call this our home
But I still feel alone."

I see their faces, look in their innocent eyes
They're just children from the outside
I'm working hard, I tell myself they'll be fine
They're independent, but on the inside
Oh, I can hear them saying. . .

"Lead me with strong hands
Stand up when I can't
Don't leave me hungry for love
Chasing dreams, what about us?
Show me you're willing to fight
That I'm still the love of your life
I know we call this our home
But I still feel alone"

So Father, give me the strength
To be everything I'm called to be
Oh Father, show me the way
To lead them

Won't You lead me?

To lead them with strong hands
To stand up when they can't
Don't want to leave them hungry for love
Chasing things that I could give up
I'll show them I'm willing to fight
And give them the best of my life
So we can call this our home
Lead me 'cause I can't do this alone

Father, lead me 'cause I can't do this alone

WHEN GOD IS ALL YOU HAVE

Author Unknown

Have you lost your health
And your wealth has faded away
Alone and forsaken, you have lost your way
Cry out for mercy, go to your knees in prayer
I know you'll find God is always there

When God is all you have
You'll find He is all you need
You may not understand
But you're right where you should be
Alone with God in the presence of grace
Whatever you've lost, He will replace
When God is all you have
You'll find He is all you need

You'll find in these moments
The strength to make it through
Whatever you're facing, God will be with you
In the midst of the storm, He is peace to your soul
Be still and you'll find you are never alone

When God is all you have
You'll find He is all you need
You may not understand
But you're right where you should be
Alone with God in the presence of grace
Whatever you've lost, He will replace
When God is all you have
You'll find He is all you need

EYES OF HEAVEN

Jim Brady, Tony Wood, and Barry Weeks

You feel forgotten like no one cares anymore
You’re all alone working hard, faithful to the Lord
But you’re starting to grow weary so I’m here to say, "Take heart,
God sees where you’re serving. He knows who you are."

The eyes of heaven move through the world today
That our God may give strength to hearts of faith
They never miss a moment, so stay faithful and true
For the eyes of heaven see you

We all have seasons when it seems we’ve labored long
And we start to feel like our souls begin to lose their song
But let your heart take comfort and courage from His Word
Hope has a revival when we trust the truth we’ve heard.

The eyes of heaven move through the world today
That our God may give strength to hearts of faith
They never miss a moment, so stay faithful and true
For the eyes of heaven see you

Keep on serving boldly for you are in His sight
Keep teaching the Word, keep telling the lost, being salt and light.

The eyes of heaven move through the world today
That our God may give strength to hearts of faith
They never miss a moment, so stay faithful and true
For the eyes of heaven see you.

IN HIS GRIP

Author Unknown

In His grip of grace I rest,
Trusting not my righteousness,
He has earned my heart's request,
So, in His grip of grace I rest.

I stood separated from the King,
With nothing in my hands,
The bridge that led up to His throne,
Had been broken by my sins,
Before I even asked,
His mercy was extended,
Because of Calvary's sacrifice,
The broken bridge was mended.

In His grip of grace I rest,
Trusting not my righteousness,
He has earned my heart's request,
So, in His grip of grace I rest.

Our nation mourns the losses,
Of many blameless lives,
Prophecies fulfilling,
Before our very eyes,
This is not the time to be afraid,
Trust God to win this fight
He's holding us safe in his hand,
Redemption drawing nigh.

In His grip of grace I rest,
Trusting not my righteousness,
He has earned my heart's request,
In His grip of grace I rest.

Undeserving of his favor,
Yet in His favor live,
Shackled by my sin and shame,
Yet freedom Jesus gives,
Blinded by this world's delights,
But now I plainly see,
Lacking strength to hold to Him,
He is holding me.

In His grip of grace I rest,
Trusting not my righteousness,
He has earned my heart's request,
In His grip of grace I rest.

GOD'S BUILDING A CHURCH

Author Unknown

For much too long the church has been
An underdog to the feet of men
God's building a church on the rise
We've been trampled on in the heat of the fight
This church has got eternal light
It's almost time for church to fly
God's building a church (and I'm so glad that...)

God's building a church
It's gonna march like a mighty army band
God's building a church
It'll be water to the dry and barren land
God's building a church
It's gonna rise from a valley of dead dry bones
Sanctified
Glorified
Filled with the Holy Ghost’s power and might
Purified with fire divine
God's building a church

On Calvary's tree it started there
He handed it down to the hands of men
God's building a church on the rise (and I like this...)
Satan's about to run in fright
As the saints of God in glorious might
We race across the enemy lines
With holy banners wavin' high

God's building a church
It's going to march like a mighty army band
God's building a church
It'll be water to the dry and barren land
God's building a church
It's gonna rise from a valley of dead dry bones
Sanctified
Glorified
Filled with the Holy Ghost’s power and might
Purified with fire divine
God's building a church

WHO AM I?

John Mark Hall

Who am I
That the Lord of all the earth,
Would care to know my name,
Would care to feel my hurt?
Who am I
That the bright and morning Star,
Would choose to light the way,
For my ever wandering heart?

Not because of who I am,
But because of what You've done.
Not because of what I've done,
But because of who You are.

I am a flower quickly fading,
Here today and gone tomorrow,
A wave tossed in the ocean,
A vapor in the wind.
Still You hear me when I'm calling,
Lord, You catch me when I'm falling,
And You've told me who I am.
I am yours.

Who am I
That the eyes that see my sin
Would look on me with love
And watch me rise again?
Who am I
That the voice that calmed the sea,
Would call out through the rain,
And calm the storm in me?

Not because of who I am,
But because of what You've done.
Not because of what I've done,
But because of who You are.

I am a flower quickly fading,
Here today and gone tomorrow,
A wave tossed in the ocean,
A vapor in the wind.
Still You hear me when I'm calling,
Lord, You catch me when I'm falling,
And You've told me who I am.
I am yours.

MY NAME IS LAZARUS

Rodney Griffin

One day, four men brought a crippled man to Jesus
Still and lifeless, he lay upon his bed
He had not moved since he was just a baby
Still he longed to become a normal man

Now we don’t know much about the men that carried
The corners of his tattered bed that day
But if we may create an illustration
We’ll see what these men might have had to say

Suppose that first man said, “I hate to doubt it
For Jesus touched my eyes when I was blind
He made me see and there’s no doubt about it
But this man’s needs are more serious than mine”

Suppose that second man said, “No need to bother
This man’s condition will remain the same
Though Jesus touched my hand when it was withered
I don’t believe He can heal a man so lame”

Suppose that third man said, “I hate to question
But no one here is more skeptical than me
Though Jesus cleansed me when I was a leper
This helpless man will never walk, you see”

Then every eye was turned to the fourth man
To see how he might criticize and doubt
But all three men were startled with amazement
When that fourth man stopped and said his name out loud

He said, “My name is Lazarus, could I testify?
My name is Lazarus, it feels good to be alive
When I in chains of death was bound
This man named Jesus called me out
If you think your little problem is too big for Him to solve
Take it from the one who’s heard the mighty voice of God
A living testimony of His death-defying touch,
My name is Lazarus”

DOES JESUS CARE?

Frank E. Graeff

Does Jesus care when my heart is pained
Too deeply for mirth or song,
As the burdens press, and the cares distress,
And the way grows weary and long?

Oh, yes, He cares, I know He cares,
His heart is touched with my grief;
When the days are weary, the long nights dreary,
I know my Savior cares.

Does Jesus care when my way is dark
With a nameless dread and fear?
As the daylight fades into deep night shades,
Does He care enough to be near?

Does Jesus care when I’ve tried and failed
To resist some temptation strong;
When for my deep grief there is no relief,
Though my tears flow all the night long?

Oh, yes, He cares, I know He cares,
His heart is touched with my grief;
When the days are weary, the long nights dreary,
I know my Savior cares.

Does Jesus care when I’ve said “goodbye”
To the dearest on earth to me,
And my sad heart aches till it nearly breaks—
Is it aught to Him? Does He see?

Oh, yes, He cares, I know He cares,
His heart is touched with my grief;
When the days are weary, the long nights dreary,
I know my Savior cares.

PRAYER FOR A FRIEND

John Mark Hall

Lord, I lift my friend to You,
I've done all that I know to do
I lift my friend to You
Complicated circumstances
Have clouded his view
Lord, I lift my friend up to You

I fear that I won't have the words
That he needs to hear
I pray for Your wisdom, oh God,
And a heart that's sincere
Lord, I lift my friend up to You

Lord, I lift my friend to You
My best friend in the world,
I know he means much more to You
I want so much to help him,
But this is something he has to do
And Lord, I lift my friend up to You

'Cause there's a way that seems so right to him
But You know where that leads
He's becoming a puppet of the world,
Too blind to see the strings
Lord, I lift my friend up to You
My friend up to You

Lord, I lift my friend to You,
I've done all that I know to do
I lift my friend to You

NOTHING TAKES YOU BY SURPRISE

Mark Harris and Tony Wood

It may be a phone call
That comes without warning
And suddenly my heart is breaking
It may be a headline
I wake to one morning
And suddenly my world is shaken
But every now and then
When life falls apart
There’s a truth I trust
That calms my heart

Nothing takes You by surprise
Here beneath these troubled skies
There’s a comfort just to realize
Nothing takes You by surprise

Sometimes the hard times seem
Senseless and random
Like life’s just a series of chances
But come what may you’ve never
Left us abandoned
You’re God over all circumstances
And nothing on earth
Can ever change Your plans
You’re in control
We’re in Your hands

Nothing takes You by surprise
Here beneath these troubled skies
There’s a comfort just to realize
Nothing takes You by surprise

Though bitter winds blow
This truth is sweet
Things out of our hands
Are still under Your feet – and

Nothing takes You by surprise
Here beneath these troubled skies
There’s a comfort just to realize
Nothing takes You by surprise

Whatever crisis may arise
Jesus, You're Lord of our lives
Nothing takes You by surprise

SO MUCH GOD

Craig Edwards

Who was that babe born in Bethlehem?
They laid him in a manger, there was no room in the inn;
He was born of a virgin, He was God's only Son,
The angels shouted in the night that Christ had come!

Who was that man, the man of Galilee
Who made the lame to walk and caused the blind to see?
He cleansed the spotted leper, He spoke with authority,
He broke the chains of sin and set the captives free.

He was so much man that He slept in a boat,
Yet he was so much God that the winds ceased when He spoke.
He was so much man that He wept when Lazarus died,
Yet He was so much God, Lazarus came forth when He cried.
He was so much man that He thirsted at the well,
Yet He was so much God that He saved her soul from Hell.
He was so much man that He died upon a tree,
He was so much God that He rose in victory.

Who was that man crying from the tree,
"Father please forgive them for what they've done to me?"
They placed him in a borrowed tomb; a stone held fast the door,
He rose up from the grave and He lives forevermore.

He was so much man that He died upon a tree,
He was so much God, He was so much man
He was so much God that He rose in victory!

WHO MOVED

Author Unknown

The money is gone, the rent is due
Don't know what you're gonna do
How could Jesus leave you in
Such obvious despair?
Take a look at why you feel alone
Don't blame God for being gone
He's not the One who refused you
And He's there to hear your prayer

Who moved when the lights grew dim?
Who moved? Are you sure it was Him?
Do you still pray and seek to do the Father's will?
Who moved? The One who promised to care?
Who moved? He said He'd always be there.
You just might be surprised to see who moved.

If there's an emptiness inside you
A void that you can't fill
Open up your Bible and listen for that still,
Small voice to call you back
When you've strayed from His strong hand
Then go forth in the victory
Waiting for the next command.

Who moved when the lights grew dim?
Who moved? Are you sure it was Him?
Do you still pray and seek to do the Father's will?
Who moved? The One who promised to care?
Who moved? He said He'd always be there.
You just might be surprised to see who moved.

You just might be surprised to see. . .
Open your Bible, and you will see. . .
Take a look at yourself, and you will see. . .
Who moved.
