COMMON GARMENTS

Rodney Griffin

One day a Roman soldier
In a shameful gambling game
Won the blood-stained garment
That once had clothed my King
Just a cheap robe of linen
No great value did it hold
But when worn by the Master
It was worth more than gold

A few days before
This old garment had changed the life
Of a tired and helpless woman
Who'd believed with all her might
She'd reached out and touched it
With hope to be restored
She knew this plain old garment
Was the vesture of the Lord

God uses common garments
To do uncommon things
And God uses common people
To live out His uncommon dreams
It's not what you are that matters
It's what He can make you to be
'Cause if God can take an old common garment
And change a life
Then surely, He can use you and me

We are the reason
That Jesus came to die
We have been chosen
To send forth His light
So it doesn't matter
If your worth is great or small
God needs some willing vessels
Just common garments, that's all

God uses common garments
To do uncommon things
And God uses common people
To live out His uncommon dreams
It's not what you are that matters
It's what He can make you to be
'Cause if God can take an old common garment
And change a life
Then surely, He can use you and me

THY WILL, NOT MY WILL

Robert Sterling

The lonely night of shadows,
A chill hangs in the air.
The sinless man of sorrows
Is kneeling in despair.
His anguish breaks the silence,
"Please, Father, take this cup."
As teardrops stain His face,
He shoulders saving grace.
His pray'r is offered up.

"Thy will, not My will,"
The Savior cries
In spite of suffering to come.
"Thy will, not My will."
Tho' He must die, He prays
"Thy will, not My will be done."

HE KEEPS ME SINGING

History Behind the Song:

A Methodist preacher by the name of Luther Bridges, was born in 1884, he married Sarah Veatch and three lovely sons were born of their union. Pastor Bridges accepted an invitation to minister at a conference in Kentucky in the year 1910, so he left his family in the care of his father-in-law and made the trip to Kentucky. There, two wonderful weeks of ministry resulted. The last service closed with great joy and he was excited to be called to the telephone. He couldn't wait to tell his wife about all the blessings.

But it wasn't her voice on that long distance line. He listened in silence to the news that a fire had burned down the house of his father-in-law and his wife and all three of his sons had died in the blaze. That distraught father leaned heavily on His Savior and expressed his faith in God during a tearful moment by penning these words:

There’s within my heart a melody
Jesus whispers sweet and low,
Fear not, I am with thee, peace, be still,
In all of life’s ebb and flow.

Jesus, Jesus, Jesus,
Sweetest Name I know,
Fills my every longing,
Keeps me singing as I go.

All my life was wrecked by sin and strife,
Discord filled my heart with pain,
Jesus swept across the broken strings,
Stirred the slumbering chords again.

Feasting on the riches of His grace,
Resting ’neath His sheltering wing,
Always looking on His smiling face,
That is why I shout and sing.

Jesus, Jesus, Jesus,
Sweetest Name I know,
Fills my every longing,
Keeps me singing as I go.

Though sometimes He leads through waters deep,
Trials fall across the way,
Though sometimes the path seems rough and steep,
See His footprints all the way.

Soon He’s coming back to welcome me,
Far beyond the starry sky;
I shall wing my flight to worlds unknown,
I shall reign with Him on high.

Jesus, Jesus, Jesus,
Sweetest Name I know,
Fills my every longing,
Keeps me singing as I go.

JUBILEE

Adger M. Pace

Praise the Lord I've been invited to a meeting in the air,
Jubilee, Jubilee.
All the saints of all the ages in their glory will be there,
Oh, I'm going to that happy Jubilee!

Jubilee! Jubilee! I am going to that happy Jubilee!
Jubilee! Jubilee! Yes, I'm going to that happy Jubilee!

With that glorious assembly dressed in garments pure and white,
Jubilee, Jubilee.
You will find me for I'm watching and my lamp is trimmed and bright,
Oh, I'm going to that happy Jubilee!

Jubilee! Jubilee! I am going to that happy Jubilee!
Jubilee! Jubilee! Yes, I'm going to that happy Jubilee!

Satan will be bound and wars will cease and David's son will reign,
Jubilee, Jubilee.
All the ransomed of the Lord shall come to Zion once again,
And I'm going to that happy Jubilee!

Jubilee! Jubilee! I am going to that happy Jubilee!
Jubilee! Jubilee! Yes, I'm going to that happy Jubilee!
Yes, I'm going to that happy Jubilee!

IT MEANS JUST WHAT IT SAYS

Rodney Griffin

When I was a child I was taught how the Bible
Was God’s infallible Word
That He had inspired every line that was written
So His voice could be heard
But now folks are saying there’s a new way of thinking,
The Bible is not clear
Well, friend, if you’re needing some interpretation,
Listen and I’ll bend your ear

Whosoever means whosoever,
Live forever means we’re never going to die
Forsake us never means that He will never leave us.
Reign forever means He’ll always be the king who rules on high.
No never means our sins are not remembered
A living Savior means that He’s no longer dead.
The Father changes never, the Bible will forever
Mean just what it says.

I know I’m not the smartest of people
You’ve been privileged to meet
I tend to think this life is as simple
As we make it out to be
That the faith of a child and the love of Savior
Will open Heaven’s gate
And that God in his goodness gave a simple Gospel
He even wrote it down that way.

COMPLETELY

Sam Mizell & Matthew West

The secret of life is letting go
The secret of love is letting it show
In all that I do
In all that I say
Right here in this moment

The power of prayer is in a humble cry
The power of change is in giving my life
And laying it down
Down at your feet
Right here in this moment

Take my heart
Take my soul
I surrender everything to your control
And let all that is within me lift up to you and say,
"I am Yours and Yours alone
Completely."

This journey of life is a search for truth
This journey of faith is following You
Every step of the way
Through the joy and the pain
Right here in this moment

Take my heart
Take my soul
I surrender everything to your control
And let all that is within me lift up to you and say,
"I am Yours and Yours alone
Completely."

Right here, right now, and for the rest of my life
Hear me say,
"I am Yours and Yours alone
Completely."
