THE ANCHOR HOLDS

Lawrence Chewning and Ray Boltz

I have journeyed
Through the long, dark night
Out on the open sea
By faith alone
Sight unknown
And yet His eyes were watching me

The anchor holds
Though the ship is battered
The anchor holds
Though the sails are torn
I have fallen on my knees
As I faced the raging seas
The anchor holds
In spite of the storm

I've had visions
I've had dreams
I've even held them in my hand
But I never knew
They would slip right through
Like they were only grains of sand

The anchor holds
Though the ship is battered
The anchor holds
Though the sails are torn
I have fallen on my knees
As I faced the raging seas
The anchor holds
In spite of the storm

I have been young
But I am older now
And there has been beauty
That these eyes have seen
But it was in the night
Through the storms of my life
Oh, thats where God proved
His love to me

And that His anchor holds
Though the ship is battered
The anchor holds
Though the sails are torn
I have fallen on my knees
As I faced the raging seas
The anchor holds
In spite of the storm

MY FAVORITE PLACE

Tim Lovelace & Rodney Griffin

I’ve stood upon a mountain, seen the beauty that’s surroundin’
Felt such awe to think that God made this for me
I’ve walked alone at midnight, looked up into the vast sky
And seen more stars than my mind could conceive
But, of all that God created, I still have my favorite
It’s a special place that I found years ago
Though the world may not see why it means the world to me
Let me try to tell you why I love it so

Though it’s a rocky place, it’s where I find my comfort
And though the sun is beating down, I must look up
To view the beauty of a love that came and found me
My favorite place is at the foot of the cross

There His love is greater than any mountain He created
And His outstretched arms seem wider than the sea
And the blood that I see flowin’ goes much deeper than the ocean
While I’m kneeling there it washes over me
There my failures are forgiven. I find daily strength for livin’
So that I can face whatever comes my way
When the morning light I see, I go back to Calvary
At His feet will always be my favorite place

Though it’s a rocky place, it’s where I find my comfort
And though the sun is beating down, I must look up
To view the beauty of a love that came and found me
My favorite place is at the foot of the cross

CHAMPION OF LOVE

Phil Cross & Carolyn Cross

Ladies and gentlemen, may I have your attention?
I want to introduce to you
In this corner of the good and the right
Stands the Champion, robed in white
His height exceeds the heavens, His weight outweighs the worlds
His reach reaches everywhere, His age is evermore

He is higher than the highest
Greater than the great
No one will ever take His crown away
He's more mighty than the mightiest
He reigns from above
He's the all-time undisputed, undefeated Champion of Love

He left His hometown to enter this arena
To raise His hands in victory for me
An angry crowd crucified this King who wore their crown
And they gladly watched The Champion going down
But I will never count Him out for I'm a witness of
The day He rose to retain the title, Champion of Love

He is higher than the highest
Greater than the great
No one will ever take His crown away
He's more mighty than the mightiest
He reigns from above
He's the all-time undisputed, undefeated Champion of Love

SING, SHOUT, DANCE

Mark S. Mathes

Come morning when the darkness fades
We'll all be going home
Together in the air we'll meet
And we'll never have to roam
Oh, what a happy time will be
When we've gathered on that day
The light of Christ will ever shine
And never pass away.

We're gonna sing, shout, dance in the morning light
We're gonna walk all over that land where there's no night
The lion and the lamb lay down where the Son is shining bright
Sing, shout, dance in the morning light

I want to sing in Heaven's choir
That's gathered 'round the throne
I'm gonna shout on holy hills,
"Thank God, I've made it home"
The lame will leap and dance for joy
And run along the way
A million years will pass on by
But seem just like a day

We're gonna sing, shout, dance in the morning light
We're gonna walk all over that land where there's no night
The lion and the lamb lay down where the Son is shining bright
Sing, shout, dance in the morning light

THANK HIM FOR THE MIRACLE

Mosie Lister

Once because of my own thinking
I was lost and I was sinking, oh, so low
Living down in the darkness of my mind
Where the righteous do not go
Till the day I fully realized that God could deliver me and more
Raise me up to higher heights and give me joy
I’d never had before

And I thank Him for the miracle
That brought me from the wrong to the right
The miracle that saved me that brought me
From the darkness to the light
And I thank Him for the never-ending song
Of joy I sing
And I thank Him for the miracle that made me
A Child of the King

In the darkness of my soul
I felt a longing just to trust in His embrace
And I said, “Lord, can I love You? Can I hope to ever look upon Your face?”
Then I took Him at His word
That said believe in ME, and you will never fall
Believe in ME, and you will be
As if you’d never strayed away at all

And I thank Him for the miracle
That brought me from the wrong to the right
The miracle that saved me that brought me
From the darkness to the light
And I thank Him for the never-ending song
Of joy I sing
And I thank Him for the miracle that made me
A Child of the King

PUT WINGS UPON YOUR PROBLEMS

Mark Bishop

Somewhere along the way you realized
It's been so long since you had seen sunny skies.
Just up above those stormy clouds,
You know Someone is looking down.
If only there were some way you
Could call on Him
Well, my friend, there is.

Just put wings upon your problem
And it becomes a prayer.
Lift your worries up to heaven
Where Jesus hears and cares.
When burdens grow so heavy
And, oh, so hard to bear
Just put wings upon your problem
And it becomes a prayer.

You have resigned yourself to feeling unloved
Shackles and chains may bind your heart, oh but above,
Jesus looks down and sees
A lost little lamb who needs
To rest in the arms of the Shepherd,
The One who says "Come unto me..."

Just put wings upon your problem
And it becomes a prayer.
Lift your worries up to heaven
Where Jesus hears and cares.
When burdens grow so heavy
And, oh, so hard to bear
Just put wings upon your problem
And it becomes a prayer.

FEELING MIGHTY FINE

Mosie Lister

I woke up this morning feeling fine I woke up with heaven on my mind
I woke up with joy in my soul cause I knew my Lord had control
I knew I was walkin' in the light cause I'd been on my knees in the night
And I'd pray till the Lord gave a sign and now I'm feeling mighty fine

Well I'm feeling mighty fine I've got heaven on my mind
Don't you know I want to go where the milk and honey flow
There's a light that always shines down inside this heart of mine
I've got heaven on my mind and I'm feeling mighty fine

We're walking with Jesus all the time we're walking and talking as we climb
We're traveling a road to the sky where I know I'll live when I die
He's been telling me all about that land and he tells me that everything is grand
And he says that a home will be mine and now I'm feeling mighty fine

Well I'm feeling mighty fine I've got heaven on my mind
Don't you know I want to go where the milk and honey flow
There's a light that always shines down inside this heart of mine
I've got heaven on my mind and I'm feeling mighty fine

DRINKING FROM MY SAUCER

Author Unknown; Music by Michael Combs

I've never made a fortune
And it's probably too late now
But I don't worry about that much
I'm happy anyhow
And as I go along life's journey
I'm reaping better than I sowed
I'm drinking from my saucer
'Cause my cup has overflowed

Haven't got a lot of riches
And sometimes the going's tough
But I've got a Friend in Jesus
And that makes me rich enough
I thank God for His blessings
And the mercies He's bestowed
I'm drinking from my saucer
'Cause my cup has overflowed

Remember times when things went wrong
My faith wore somewhat thin
But all at once the dark clouds broke
And sun peeped through again
So Lord, help me not to gripe
About the tough rows that I've hoed
I'm drinking from my saucer
'Cause my cup has overflowed

If God gives me strength and courage
When the way grows steep and rough
I'll not ask for other blessings
I'm already blessed enough
And may I never be too busy
To help another bear his load
Then I'll keep drinking from my saucer
'Cause my cup has overflowed!'
