I CHOOSE

Rodney Griffin

Master, may I be so honest?
Could I admit the way I feel?
I'm hurting, it seems that you've forsaken,
And I wonder, 'Is you love for me still real?'
Though my friends think that I am happy,
Unaffected by this trial,
They can't see the pain I'm hiding
Just underneath my smile.
Master, I can't live this way anymore,
So today I make my choice.

I choose to believe that You are faithful,
Any my heart is in Your hands,
And this mystery that I face today
Is part of a greater plan.
I choose not to be discouraged
When the sun will not break through.
I have the choice of trusting You,
So, Lord, this is what I choose.

I know this road will not be easy,
And I know I'll have my weaker days,
And Satan will tell me I don't mean it
When I say, "I'll trust God all the way."
But that really doesn't matter.
I refuse to hear him out.
With my faith, I'll find the power
That will overcome all doubt.
Lord, I've never felt so strong
As when I'm resting in Your arms.

I choose to believe that You are faithful,
Any my heart is in Your hands,
And this mystery that I face today
Is part of a greater plan.
I choose not to be discouraged
When the sun will not break through.
I have the choice of trusting You,
So, Lord, this is what I choose.

Why Not by Patti Hawkins

I always thought when He called,
I'd say, "Here am I, send me,"
But when I heard my name and saw the task,
"Choose someone else," I'd plea.
I'd give Him all the reasons
Why I wasn't qualified.
He'd say He's heard them all before,
Was that the best that I could find?
Then He would remind me that I was in His hand,
And He equips His children to carry out His plan.

He'd ask, "Why not when I've got everything you need?"
"It's not your strength, but mine, that supplies the victory."
When I've given Him all the excuses that I've got,
Then I turn and ask, "Why me, Lord?"
And He answers me, "Why not?"

It wasn't the great talent
Of the trumpeter that caused
The tumbling down on the seventh day
Of those mighty Jericho walls.
David wasn't famous
For his slingshot or his aim,
But he had a willing faithful heart,
And God's promise He did claim.
Jonah ran the other way
When God said, "Go tell."
But Ninevah didn't look that bad
From the belly of a whale.

He'd ask, "Why not when I've got everything you need?"
"It's not your strength, but mine, that supplies the victory."
When I've given Him all the excuses that I've got,
Then I turn and ask, "Why me, Lord?"
And He answers me, "Why not?"
