I HAVE BEEN BLESSED

(Sorry, I couldn't find the author of this song, but from what I've heard and read, it was written by two young girls.)

Verse 1:
When He moves among us all that He does
all of His mercy and all of His love
and the pen of the writer could write everyday
even this world could never contain
how I've been blessed

Verse 2:
The warmth in winter the flowers in spring
the laughter in summer and the changing of leaves
the food on my table a good place to sleep
clothes on my back and shoes on my feet
I have been blessed

Chorus:
I have been blessed God's so good to me
precious are His thoughts of you and me
no way I could count them there's not enough time
so I'll just thank Him for being so kind
God has been good so good
I have been blessed

Verse 3:
Arms that will raise a voice that can talk
hands that can touch and legs that can walk
ears that can listen eyes that can see
oh I've got to praise Him as long as I breathe
I have been blessed

Verse 4:
A father and mother who nurtured and raised
a brother and sister memories made
our pastor to lead us the altar to pray
stripes that can heal the blood that can save
I have been blessed

Chorus:
I have been blessed God's so good to me
precious are His thoughts of you and me
no way I could count them there's not enough time
so I'll just thank Him for being so kind
God has been good so good
I have been blessed

Verse 5:
We live in a country the greatest on earth
our flag stands for freedom and what it is worth
she stands in the harbor Miss Liberty calls
all have gave some but some have gave all
for me to be blessed

Verse 6:
He's my shoulder to lean on when I am down
the rock where He leads me when I'm overwhelmed
the place where He hides me under His wings
He's not just a song He's the reason I sing
I have been blessed

Chorus:
I have been blessed God's so good to me
precious are His thoughts of you and me
no way I could count them there's not enough time
so I'll just thank Him for being so kind
God has been good so good
I have been blessed

THANK GOD I AM FREE

James McFall

For a long time I traveled
Down a long lonely road;
My heart was so heavy in sin I sank low.
Then I heard about Jesus,
What a wonderful hour;
I’m so glad that I found out
He could bring me out
Through His saving power.

Thank God I am free, free, free
From this world of sin.
I've been washed in the blood of Jesus,
I’ve been born again.
Hallelujah, I’m saved, saved, saved
By His wonderful grace.
I’m so glad that I found out
He could bring me out
And show me the way.

Like a bird out of prison
That has taken its flight;
Like a blind man that God
Gave back his sight.
Like a poor wretched beggar
That’s found fortune and fame,
I’m so glad that I found out
He could bring me out
Thro’ His holy name.

Thank God I am free, free, free
From this world of sin.
I've been washed in the blood of Jesus,
I’ve been born again.
Hallelujah, I’m saved, saved, saved
By His wonderful grace.
I’m so glad that I found out
He could bring me out
And show me the way.

THE SEARCH IS OVER

Ronnie Hinson & Mike Payne

He knows what you're going through
He's walked in your shoes,
And He's felt the pain
'Til His tears fell like rain,
And His heart broke in two.
He knows how it feels alone
When all of His friends were gone,
Yet He walked up that hill,
Doing His Father's will
To die for you.

The search is over
You've found a friend for life.
He'll lead you from the dark
Into His heavenly light.
The search is over
'Though your hearts been breaking,
Jesus is waiting,
The search is over.

We all have a choice to make,
There's two roads to take.
Have you carried sin's load
When down the wrong road
Have you lost your way?
Now the Father stands at the door,
And He looks down the road once more;
He sees you coming home,
You've wandered so long,
Now it's homecoming day.

The search is over
You've found a friend for life.
He'll lead you from the dark
Into His heavenly light.
The search is over
'Though your hearts been breaking,
Jesus is waiting,
The search is over.

JOSHUA'S SONG

Sheri Easter

Sheri Easter wrote this special song in memory of a brave little boy that touched her heart and was an inspiration to many, Joshua Lee Young (1999-2005). You can remember about Joshua by visiting www.caringbridge.org/sc/joshua

Remember Joshua led an awesome battle
Marched around the city seven times
The walls came down and gave him honor
'Cause he knew all along that God would lead his fight

Are you tired of fighting, weary soldier?
Lay your weapon down and rest awhile
I know you’re tired and weary from your battle
So lay back in God’s arms and rest tonight

You’re beaten by the raging war inside you
You’re stumbling 'cause your steps are getting weak
Your head hangs low and though a tiny smile escapes you
In your eyes surrender is all I see

Are you tired of fighting, weary soldier?
Lay your weapon down and rest awhile
I know you’re tired and weary from your battle
So lay back in God’s arms and rest tonight

Her heart is breaking as she holds him tightly
This war won’t last much longer she can see
She knows the final surrender won’t come easy
So she prays for strength and softly whispers
“Now you’re free”

Are you tired of fighting, weary soldier?
Lay your weapon down and rest awhile
I know you’re tired and weary from your battle
So lay back in God’s arms and rest tonight

PRAISE YOU IN THIS STORM

Mark Hall

I was sure by now,God,
That You would have reached down
And wiped our tears away,
Stepped in and saved the day
But once again, I say, "Amen"
And it's still raining
As the thunder rolls,
I barely hear You whisper through the rain,
"I'm with you"
And as Your mercy falls
I raise my hands and praise
The God who gives and takes away.

And I'll praise you in this storm
And I will lift my hands
For You are who You are
No matter where I am
And every tear I've cried
You hold in your hand
You never left my side
And though my heart is torn
I will praise You in this storm

I remember when
I stumbled in the wind
You heard my cry
You raised me up again
My strength is almost gone
How can I carry on
If I can't find You?
And as the thunder rolls
I barely hear You whisper through the rain
"I'm with you"
And as Your mercy falls
I raise my hands and praise
The God who gives and takes away

And I'll praise you in this storm
And I will lift my hands
For You are who You are
No matter where I am
And every tear I've cried
You hold in your hand
You never left my side
And though my heart is torn
I will praise You in this storm

I lift my eyes onto the hills
Where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord,
The maker of heaven and earth
I lift my eyes onto the hills
Where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord,
The maker of heaven and earth

And I'll praise you in this storm
And I will lift my hands
For You are who You are
No matter where I am
And every tear I've cried
You hold in your hand
You never left my side
And though my heart is torn
I will praise You in this storm

FARTHER ALONG

J.R.Baxter and W.B.Stevens

Tempted and tried, we're oft made to wonder
Why it should be thus all the day long,
While there are others living about us,
Never molested, though in the wrong.

Farther along we'll know all about it,
Farther along we'll understand why;
Cheer up my brother, live in the sunshine,
We'll understand it all by and by.

When death has come and taken our loved ones,
It leaves our home so lonely and drear,
Then do we wonder why others prosper
Living so wicked year after year.

Farther along we'll know all about it,
Farther along we'll understand why;
Cheer up my brother, live in the sunshine,
We'll understand it all by and by.

Faithful til death, said our loving Master
A few more days to labor and wait,
Toils of the road will then seem as nothing
As we sweep through the beautiful gate.

Farther along we'll know all about it,
Farther along we'll understand why;
Cheer up my brother, live in the sunshine,
We'll understand it all by and by.

When we see Jesus, coming in glory,
When He comes from His home in the sky,
Then we shall meet Him in that bright mansion,
We'll understand it all by and by.

Farther along we'll know all about it,
Farther along we'll understand why;
Cheer up my brother, live in the sunshine,
We'll understand it all by and by.

SANCTUARY

Author Unknown

Lord, prepare me to be a sanctuary
Pure and holy, tried and true
With thanksgiving, I'll be a living
Sanctuary for You

It is you, Lord
Who came to save
The heart and soul
Of every man
It is you Lord
Who knows my weakness
Who gives me strength
With thine own hand.

Lord, prepare me to be a sanctuary
Pure and holy, tried and true
With thanksgiving, I'll be a living
Sanctuary for You

Lead Me on, Lord
From temptation
Purify me
From within
Fill my heart with
Your Holy Spirit
Take away all my sin

Lord, prepare me to be sanctuary
Pure and holy, tried and true
With thanksgiving, I'll be a living
Sanctuary for You

EXCUSES

Author Unknown

Excuses, excuses, you'll hear them every day
And the Devil he'll supply them if from church you stay away
When people come to know the Lord, the devil always loses
So to keep them folks away from church he offers those excuses

In the summer, it's too hot, and in the winter, it's too cold
In the spring time when the weather's just right, you find some place else to go
Well, it's up to the mountains or down to the beach or to visit some old friend
Or, to just stay home and kinda relax and hope that some of the kin folks start dropping in.

Well, the church benches are too hard, and that choir sings way too loud.
Boy, you know how nervous you get when you're sitting in a great big crowd.
The doctor told you, "Now, you better watch those crowds. They'll set you back."
But you go to that old ball game because you say it helps you to relax.

Well, a headache Sunday morning and a backache Sunday night.
But by worktime Monday morning, you're feeling quite alright.
Well, one of the children has a cold, "Pneumonia, do you suppose?"
Why, the whole family had to stay home, just to blow that poor kid's nose.

Excuses, excuses, you'll hear them every day.
And the devil he'll supply them if from church you stay away.
When people come to know the Lord, the devil always loses
So to keep them folks away from church, he offers those excuses.

Well, the preacher he's too young, and maybe he's too old.
The sermons they're not hard enough, and maybe they're too bold.
His voice is much too quiet-like. Sometimes he gets too loud.
He needs to have more dignity, or else he's way too proud.

Well, the sermons they're too long, and maybe they're too short.
He ought to preach the word with dignity instead of "stomp and snort."
Well, that preacher we've got must be "the world's most stuck up man."
Well, one of the lady's told me the other day, "Well, he didn't even shake my hand."

Excuses, excuses, you'll hear them every day.
And the devil he'll supply them if from church you stay away.
When people come to know the Lord, the devil always loses
So to keep them folks away from church, he offers those excuses.

HE PILOTS MY SHIP

Ronnie Hinson

A soul of a man
Is like a ship
That sails on the sea of time
Storms may come
And winds may blow
And rock this ship of mine
But the reason my ship
Has never sank
And the day is still aglow
My compass is
God’s precious Word
And Jesus pilots my boat.

I won’t sail the stormy sea no more
Unless Jesus leads the way
I won’t ever drift too far from the shore
I can’t hear what He has to say
I belong to a fleet that sails today
On a glorious one-way trip
I’ll land safely ashore to sail no more
For Jesus pilots my ship

My ship pulled into safety's port
My stern was torn apart
The bow of my vessel
Was so badly crushed
Sin waters had flooded my heart
I’d sailed for so long on life’s angry waves
With my cargo of fear and despair
But I called on His name
And He lifted the blame
And now He pilots my ship everywhere

I won’t sail the stormy sea no more
Unless Jesus leads the way
I won’t ever drift too far from the shore
I can’t hear what He has to say
I belong to a fleet that sails today
On a glorious one-way trip
I’ll land safely ashore to sail no more
For Jesus pilots my ship

REAL FAITH

Marty Funderburk and Tony Wood

Not some tragic struggle
Not some endless search
Just the story of some kids growing up in church
We took in every moment
With open eyes and ears
And one day took to heart
What we saw in those years
And we saw....

Real people with real struggles
Real lives bruised in real ways
And there was real joy
And real hope
And through it all we found real faith

We count it as a blessing to know such strength and peace
Oh, not that they were perfect,
But they lived with honesty
And the evidence we witnessed daily in each life
Helped pave the way for us to embrace the love of Christ
And we knew...

Real people with real struggles
Real lives bruised in real ways
And there was real joy
And real hope
And through it all we found real faith

Remind us, oh Father
That around us every day
The innocent eyes are watching
May they see our lives and say
I see....

Real people with real struggles
Real lives bruised in real ways
And there was real joy
And real hope
And through it all we found real faith

PRAYER IS THE SOUL'S SINCERE DESIRE

James Montgomery

Prayer is the soul's sincere desire,
Unuttered or expressed;
The motion of a hidden fire
That trembles in the breast.

Prayer is the burden of a sigh,
The falling of a tear
The upward glancing of an eye,
When none but God is near.

Prayer is the Christian's vital breath,
The Christian's native air,
His watchword at the gates of death;
He enters heaven with prayer.

O Thou, by Whom we come to God,
The Life, the Truth, the Way;
The path of prayer Thyself hast trod:
Lord, teach us how to pray!

Prayer is the contrite sinner's voice,
Returning from his ways,
While angels in their songs rejoice
And cry, "Behold, he prays!"

The saints in prayer appear as one
In word, in deed, and mind,
While with the Father and the Son
Sweet fellowship they find.

No prayer is made by man alone
The Holy Spirit pleads,
And Jesus, on th'eternal throne,
For sinners intercedes.

O Thou by Whom we come to God,
The Life, the Truth, the Way,
The path of prayer Thyself hast trod:
Lord, teach us how to pray.

PRAYER IS THE KEY TO HEAVEN

Samuel Scott & Robert Sands

Prayer is the key to Heaven
But faith unlocks the door
Words are so easily spoken
Prayer without faith is
Like a boat without an oar
Have faith when you speak
To the Master
That's all He'll ask you for
Prayer is the key to Heaven
But faith unlocks the door

DAYS OF ELIJAH

Robin Mark

These are the days of Elijah
Declaring the Word of the Lord, yes
And these are the days of his servant, Moses
Righteousness being restored
And these are the days of great trial
Of famine and darkness and sword
So we are the voice in the desert crying
Prepare ye the way of the Lord

Behold He comes
Riding on a cloud
Shining like the sun
At the trumpet's call
Lift your voice
It's the year of jubilee
Out of Zion's hill salvation comes

And these are the days of Ezekiel
With dry bones becoming as flesh
And these are the days of his servant, David
Building the temple of praise, yes
And these are the days of the harvest
The fields are all white in the world
And we are the laborers that are in your vineyard
Declaring the word of the Lord

Behold He comes
Riding on a cloud
Shining like the sun
At the trumpet's call
Lift your voice
It's the year of jubilee
Out of Zion's hill salvation comes

There's no God like Jehovah
There's no God like Jehovah
There's no God like Jehovah

Behold He comes
Riding on a cloud
Shining like the sun
At the trumpet's call
Lift your voice
It's the year of jubilee
Out of Zion's hill salvation comes

NEW WINE

Author Unknown

It's that new, new wine
The kind that makes you smile all the time
I heard about it just a little while ago
Ever since I did,
I just can't let this happy feeling go
New, new wine
The kind that makes you smile all the time
Pardon my funny grin,
I'm just a new wineskin holding new, new wine

Now it's not from moonshine
But it comes from sunshine
Straight from Heaven above
It won't make you lazy
Or make your mind crazy
Or make you cry over some
Long gone lost love

New, new wine
The kind that makes you smile all the time
I heard about it just a little while ago
Ever since I did,
I just can't let this happy feeling go
New, new wine
The kind that makes you smile all the time
Pardon my funny grin,
I'm just a new wineskin holding new, new wine

Now, money can't buy it
But once you try it
You'll have a lifetime supply
The Savior will give it
Through His Holy Spirit
Joy like a river
Makes you feel so fine

It's that new, new wine
The kind that makes you smile all the time
I heard about it just a little while ago
Ever since I did,
I just can't let this happy feeling go
New, new wine
The kind that makes you smile all the time
Pardon my funny grin,
I'm just a new wineskin holding new, new wine

HE SAW WHAT I COULD BE

Dan Dean

A loser without direction,
I drifted aimlessly
On the backside of a place called 'Nowhere'
Forgotten by humanity,
When they talked about potential,
They did not refer to me
'Cause everyone could clearly see,
What I am I'd always be.

But He saw not what I was,
He saw what I could be;
When He reached His hand to where I was,
He made a change in me.
For all He had to hope for
Was just a possibility;
Still He saw not what I was,
He saw what I could be.

So now you know the reason
I lift my hands so willingly;
If He hadn't found me when He did,
I'd still be lost as lost could be.
And although I'm far from perfect,
I'm even farther still you see
From the life I lived just yesterday
Before the LORD found me.

But He saw not what I was,
He saw what I could be;
When He reached His hand to where I was,
He made a change in me.
For all He had to hope for
Was just a possibility;
Still He saw not what I was,
He saw what I could be.

MORE THAN I EVER ASKED FOR

Squire E. Parsons, Jr.

Satan said, "This time you've done it
Now you have gone too far.
How could the Lord receive you now?
You are ruined now and scarred."
But something deep inside of me
Said, "Child, you're still My own.
My love for you is still the same
So, child, just come back home."

He gave me more than I ever asked for
More than I ever dreamed
More than I could imagine
When I came back home to Him
When I asked Him to forgive me
He gave me a robe and a ring
I said, "Make me as one of Your servants."
But He made me a child of the King.

I thought about the years I'd wasted
As I walked the homeward way
And I rehearsed time and time
All the words that I would say
But when I finally climbed the last long hill
My Father I did see
Running with His arms open wide
In love to welcome me.

He gave me more than I ever asked for
More than I ever dreamed
More than I could imagine
When I came back home to Him
When I asked Him to forgive me
He gave me a robe and a ring
I said, "Make me as one of Your servants."
But He made me a child of the King.

I'VE BEEN REDEEMED

Author Unknown

I've been redeemed
I've been forgiven
I've been washed in the blood of the Lamb
Crucified with the Great I Am
And now I'm free
There's a new way of livin'
Jesus blood has covered me
I've been redeemed

I've been introduced
To some great men of government
I've have shaken the hands of stars
That everyone has seen
I've been thrilled to know
A family that cares for me
But the greatest thrill I've ever known
Is I have been redeemed

I've been redeemed
I've been forgiven
I've been washed in the blood of the Lamb
Crucified with the Great I Am
And now I'm free
There's a new way of livin'
Jesus blood has covered me
I've been redeemed

You may wonder why
I don't hang my head and cry
When things are going wrong
I still can smile and sing
It's because I know
I'm washed whiter than the snow
And what the devil throws at me
I throw it back and say,

I've been redeemed
I've been forgiven
I've been washed in the blood of the Lamb
Crucified with the Great I Am
And now I'm free
There's a new way of livin'
Jesus blood has covered me
I've been redeemed

DON'T TRY TO TELL ME

Author Unknown

Now don’t try to tell me that God is dead
I just talked to Him this morning
Don’t try to tell me He’s not alive,
He lives within my heart
His Word is always by my side
And He brightens up the way
So don’t try to tell me that God is dead
I just talked to Him today

Now don’t try to tell me that God is dead,
His mighty army’s leading
I have no fear when He is near,
He takes good care of me
His rod and staff they comfort me,
I feast upon His love
His goodness and mercy shall follow me
Till I reach that home above

Now don’t try to tell me that God is dead
I just talked to Him this morning
Don’t try to tell me He’s not alive,
He lives within my heart
His Word is always by my side
And He brightens up the way
So don’t try to tell me that God is dead
I just talked to Him today

Now some folks claim that God is dead
And that’s what the Devil wanted
Satan’s been lying and deceiving man
Ever since time began
Well, God can’t live in a wicked mind
Or a life’s that filled with sin
The thing to do is put the devil out,
Get the love of God within

Now don’t try to tell me that God is dead
I just talked to Him this morning
Don’t try to tell me He’s not alive,
He lives within my heart
His Word is always by my side
And He brightens up the way
So don’t try to tell me that God is dead
I just talked to Him today

IN MY FATHER'S EYES

Gary Duty

From a distance He'd be watching me,
And I guess somehow He knew,
That in my heart I longed to be like Him.
In time the closer we became,
The more it seemed I grew:
I'd fall, He'd pick me up, and I'd try again.

He loves me even when I do
The things I shouldn't do,
And when I fail to do the things I should.
I've heard it said that love is blind,
And I've come to know it's true;
He forgets the bad, and remembers all the good.

In my Father's eyes there's no wrong I've done.
In my Father's eyes I am the perfect son.
There must be someone I can't see,
And it makes me want to try
To be like the Son that's in my Father's eyes.

And when this life is over,
My last trial I've gone through,
'Twill be worth it all to hear Him say "Well done."
And maybe then I'll understand
Just what He saw in me,
Though I'm sure I'll find that He was blinded by the Son.

In my Father's eyes there's no wrong I've done.
In my Father's eyes I am the perfect son.
There must be someone I can't see,
And it makes me want to try
To be like the Son that's in my Father's eyes.

MORE THAN YOU'LL EVER KNOW

Phil Johnson

If I could find the right words to say
To tell you just what Christ means to me
I'd say He's more than I could show
And more than you'll ever know

Christ means more to me than you'll ever know
Christ means more to me than I could possibly show
More, more, so much more
More than you'll ever know

If you could have seen me just yesterday
You'd know why He's life and breath to me
You'd know why He's more than I could show
And more than you'll ever know

Christ means more to me than you'll ever know
Christ means more to me than I could possibly show
More, more, so much more
More than you'll ever know

WE WANT AMERICA BACK

Jeff Steele

Something is wrong with America.
She once held the Bible as her conscience and guide.
But we’ve allowed those who hold nothing to be sacred,
Like Sodom of old, to push morals aside.
Where are the men who once stood for right?
And the women who championed their cause?
We must return to the values we lost,
Before this country we love is totally lost.

We want America back.
We want America back,
From those who have no self-control,
We want America back.
This nation is like a runaway train,
Headed down the wrong track,
It’s time for the army of God to arise,
And say we want America back.

Narration:
I love America. But I do not love what she has become.
Our children are asked to attend public schools
that in many cases resemble war zones,
without even the most basic right of any soldier…
the right to pray to the God of heaven.
Many times a wild-eyed, drug-addicted,
gun-carrying teenager is allowed to stay in school,
while our Supreme Court decided to expel God
from the classroom over thirty years ago.
Something is wrong.
Television daily bombards the senses of our nation
with the idea that wrong is right,
that the abnormal is normal,
that the abhorrent is acceptable,
and that what God calls an abomination is
nothing more than an alternate life-style.
And it’s had an effect. Thirty years ago,
the number one television program in America
was “The Andy Griffith Show.” Look what we have today.
Something is wrong.
When our government can pass out contraceptives
to children in school without parental consent,
and yet the Gideons can no longer pass out the Bible
on campus…something is wrong.
When our leaders can tell your children and mine
that premarital sex is alright as long as it’s safe…
yes…something is wrong. And I for one am ready for a change.
I will say to my government, “I’m not raising
dogs at my house; I’m raising children…created in the image
and likeness of almighty God.
And I’m going to teach them the Bible.
If the Bible says it’s right…it’s right.
And if the Bible says it’s wrong…it’s wrong.”
The only hope that America has is that Godly men
and women will stand together as one might army and
declare to the immoral, the impure, the obscene and the foul,
“Your days of unlimited access the minds of America are over.
The army of God, that has been silent for too long,
is taking America back!”

We want America back.
We want America back,
From those who have no self-control,
We want America back.
This nation is like a runaway train,
Headed down the wrong track,
It’s time for the army of God to arise,
And say we want America back.
It’s time for the army of God to arise,
And say we want America back!!

I CAN SEE THE HAND

Author Unknown

When I look at the moon and stars in the sky
I can see the hand of the Father.
In the valley so deep and rivers so wide,
I can see the hand of the Father.

I can see the hand..... when I look around me
I can hear the voice....blowing in the wind
I can feel the mighty touch of the Father’s love
Ev’rywhere I go, ev’rywhere I go
His presence surrounds me
I can see the hand,
I can hear the voice,
I can feel the touch of God.

In the music of birds and rustle of leaves
I can hear the voice of the Father
In the thundering rain and whispering breeze,
I can hear the voice of the Father.

I can see the hand..... when I look around me
I can hear the voice....blowing in the wind
I can feel the mighty touch of the Father’s love
Ev’rywhere I go, ev’rywhere I go
His presence surrounds me
I can see the hand,
I can hear the voice,
I can feel the touch of God.

On a warm summer day when the sun’s shining bright
I can feel the touch of the Father.
In the snow that falls on a cold winter night,
I can feel the touch of the Father.

I can see the hand..... when I look around me
I can hear the voice....blowing in the wind
I can feel the mighty touch of the Father’s love
Ev’rywhere I go, ev’rywhere I go
His presence surrounds me
I can see the hand,
I can hear the voice,
I can feel the touch of God.

OPEN MY EYES, THAT I MAY SEE

Clara H. Scott

Open my eyes, that I may see
Glimpses of truth thou hast for me;
Place in my hands the wonderful key
That shall unclasp and set me free.
Silently now I wait for thee,
Ready, my God, thy will to see.
Open my eyes, illumine me, Spirit divine!

Open my ears, that I may hear
Voices of truth thou sendest clear;
And while the wavenotes fall on my ear,
Everything false will disappear.
Silently now I wait for thee,
Ready, my God, thy will to see.
Open my ears, illumine me, Spirit divine!

Open my mouth, and let me bear
Gladly the warm truth everywhere;
Open my heart and let me prepare
Love with thy children thus to share.
Silently now I wait for thee,
Ready, my God, thy will to see.
Open my heart, illumine me, Spirit divine!

JESUS BUILT A BRIDGE

Phil Cross

ONE DAY THEY NAILED A CARPENTER TO A RUGGED TREE,
THINKING HE WOULD NEVER BUILD AGAIN.
THERE THEY HELD HIM THROUGH HIS HANDS AND FEET
STILL HE CARRIED OUT THE MASTER PLAN

JESUS BUILT A BRIDGE TO HEAVEN
SO THAT I COULD FIND A WAY UP TO HIM,
JESUS BUILT A BRIDGE THE ONLY WAY HE COULD
WITH ONLY THREE NAILS AND TWO PIECES OF WOOD
WITH ONE RUGGED CROSS JESUS BUILT A BRIDGE.

THE FATHER LOOKED FROM HEAVEN TO THE WORLD BELOW
AND SAW THERE WAS NO WAY TO CLAIM HIS OWN
SO TO THE WORLD HIS SON THE MASTER BUILDER HAD TO GO
TO MAKE A WAY TO BRING GOD'S CHILDREN HOME.

WHEN JESUS PASSES BY

Sandra Knight

They brought the blind to Jesus' side
Touch me now I pray
So Jesus led him down out of town
And touched his eyes that day
He said I see men as trees walking
So Jesus touched him once again
And these blinded eyes received their sight
When Jesus passes by

It always makes a difference when Jesus passes by
The devil trembles, the enemy flees
When Jesus comes on the scene
He always shines a ray of light
The darkening clouds must fly
It always makes a difference when Jesus passes by

They took him to the tomb that day
Lazarus was his name
His loved ones wept for death had crept
Into their lives with pain
Oh, but someone sent a message
And soon Jesus did reply
And even death could have no power
When Jesus passes by

It always makes a difference when Jesus passes by
The devil trembles, the enemy flees
When Jesus comes on the scene
He always shines a ray of light
The darkening clouds must fly
It always makes a difference when Jesus passes by

I'M BLESSED

Tracy Jones and Ricky Atkinson

Each day that I live, He gives more than I need
And I could never describe His goodness to me
If you ask how I make day after day
There is only one thing I can say

It's been a long journey but I have been blessed
Walking with Jesus, I have no regrets
He is so good to me, and I must confess
The way has been long, but I'm blessed

All that I need I find at His feet
When I'm hungry, He feeds me with manna so sweet
When my soul is weary, He sends peace and rest
And all I can say is I'm blessed

Now I've had my share of sunshine and rain
Days filled with laughter and nights filled with pain
But with every mile as I travel this way
The journey gets sweeter each day

It's been a long journey but I have been blessed
Walking with Jesus, I have no regrets
He is so good to me, and I must confess
The way has been long, but I'm blessed

I'M BLESSED
So much more than I ever deserve
I'M BLESSED
He's been faithfully keeping His word
I'M BLESSED
I've been cleansed by the hand of the Lord
I'm blessed, I'm blessed, I'm blessed

It's been a long journey but I have been blessed
Walking with Jesus, I have no regrets
He is so good to me, and I must confess
The way has been long, but I'm blessed

FOLLOW ME

Rodney Griffin

It's easy to walk in the footprints
Of another who has walked here before.
But when those prints disappear
And my future seems unclear,
My only hope is in a still small voice.

Follow me when the footprints you've followed are gone.
Follow me when friends leave you standing alone.
Don't be afraid, I won't lead you wrong.
The Savior has spoken, follow me.

Oh, friend, are you troubled with nowhere to turn?
Have you lost your way in the night?
Well, there is One who is watching,
And He knows where you are;
He wants to lead you in to the light!

Follow me when the footprints you've followed are gone.
Follow me when friends leave you standing alone.
Don't be afraid, I won't lead you wrong.
The Savior has spoken, follow me.

TO GOD BE THE GLORY

Fanny Crosby

To God be the glory, great things He has done;
So loved He the world that He gave us His Son,
Who yielded His life an atonement for sin,
And opened the life gate that all may go in.

Praise the Lord, praise the Lord,
Let the earth hear His voice!
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord,
Let the people rejoice!
O come to the Father, through Jesus the Son,
And give Him the glory, great things He has done.

O perfect redemption, the purchase of blood,
To every believer the promise of God;
The vilest offender who truly believes,
That moment from Jesus a pardon receives.

Praise the Lord, praise the Lord,
Let the earth hear His voice!
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord,
Let the people rejoice!
O come to the Father, through Jesus the Son,
And give Him the glory, great things He has done.

Great things He has taught us, great things He has done,
And great our rejoicing through Jesus the Son;
But purer, and higher, and greater will be
Our wonder, our transport, when Jesus we see.

Praise the Lord, praise the Lord,
Let the earth hear His voice!
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord,
Let the people rejoice!
O come to the Father, through Jesus the Son,
And give Him the glory, great things He has done.

GOD IS WORKING

God is working; He's still working
God is working even now
Though we often can't see just how
God is working, He's still working
God is working even now.

Though we cannot see
And we can't quite understand
Remember God is still in control
He has promised to see you through
And He's working even now

God is working; He's still working
God is working even now
Though we often can't see just how
God is working; He's still working
God is working even now.

Hallelujah, He's working even now
Hallelujah, He's working even now
Though we often don't know just how
God is working; He's still working
God is working even now.

WE WILL LIFT UP YOUR NAME

Glen Aubrey

We will lift up Your name, O Lord;
We will lift up Your name, O Lord.
All we desire to do is to give glory to You;
And we'll lift up Your name, O Lord.

We will lift up Your name, O Lord;
We will lift up Your name, O Lord.
In everything we do, we want to honor You;
And we'll lift up Your name, O Lord.

No other name we know that is worthy of praise;
No other Savior we worship but Jesus.
Lamb of God, Price of Peace, the mighty Conqueror is He;
And we'll lift up Him name forever.

We will lift up Your name, O Lord;
We will lift up Your name, O Lord.
With hearts of gratitude, we offer praise to You;
And we'll lift up Your name, O Lord.

SALVATION IS A MIRACLE TO ME

DIANNE WILKINSON

JESUS, THE HOLY ONE, GOD'S OWN BEGOTTEN SON
WORSHIP HIM AND LET HIS PRAISES RING
WELL, HE RAISED THE CRIPPLED MAN,
MADE HIM TO WALK AGAIN
VOICES ONCE SILENT NOW CAN SING!
WHEN HE SAYS "PEACE BE STILL",
WINDS MUST OBEY HIS WILL
HE SPEAKS AND BLINDED EYES CAN SEE
BUT GREATER THAN ALL OF THESE
IS A SINNER DOWN ON HIS KNEES
SALVATION IS A MIRACLE TO ME

SALVATION IS A MIRACLE TO ME
ALL HEAVEN CHEERS WHEN ONE LOST SINNER'S BEEN
SET FREE
HE CAME TO DIE THAT WE MIGHT LIVE
AND THE LIFE HE GIVES WE LIVE ABUNDANTLY!
I KNOW HE FED THE CROWDS WITH JUST FIVE LOAVES OF BREAD
HE WALKED UPON THE SEA AND EVEN RAISED THE DEAD
BUT OF ALL THE SIGNS AND WONDERS THIS WORLD WILL EVER SEE
SALVATION IS A MIRAC
LE TO ME

I'LL NOT TURN MY BACK ON HIM NOW

Sandy Knight

"Curse the Lord and die," she said.
"Job, curse the Lord and die."
He said, "No, I'll not turn my back on Him now.
My vows were made for good or bad,
He's been the best friend I've ever had
And I'll not turn my back on Him now."

I'll not turn my back on Him now.
He's given to me everything I have.
He gave me my first breath,
I'll give Him my last.
I'll not turn my back on Him now.

There they go, old Job's possessions,
Everything that Job held precious.
Job said, "Bless the name of the Lord.
Friends and family, houses and land,
God holds all things in His hands
And I'll not turn my back on Him now."

I'll not turn my back on Him now.
He's given to me everything I have.
He gave me my first breath,
I'll give Him my last.
I'll not turn my back on Him now.

THE KEY

Phil Cross

There is a key, only one key
Unlocking everything. One of a kind.
Put in a place for everyone to see.
There for every "whosoever will" to find.

I can unlock the shackles of sin's prison.
I can open up the very gates of hell.
I can swing wide the doorway up to heaven
All because the key was hung on a nail.

There on the tree they placed the answer
To peace and happiness, to everlasting love.
There on the cross they placed the Savior.
Now the lost below can reach to God above.

I can unlock the shackles of sin's prison,
Even open up the very gates of hell,
I can swing wide the doorway up to heaven
All because the key was hung on a nail.

Christ is the key, the key that frees us.
That's why I'll spend the endless ages praising Jesus!

I can unlock the shackles of sin's prison,
Even open up the very gates of hell,
I can swing wide the doorway up to heaven
All because the key was hung on a nail.

SOON WE WILL SEE

Rodney Griffin

Soon I may face a dark storm of trouble
And have to sail through a tempest so rough,
Or I may have to climb a mountain of sorrow.
It's coming if I live long enough.
But there's something ahead that keeps me from dreading
The sadness I'll face here below.
You see, the stage is prepared, and soon the curtain will open
To a city where I long to go.

Soon we will see the portals of glory
Soon we will see the Great I Am
Soon we will hear the angels cry "Holy!"
Soon we will see the Lamb.

What could I face that could steal the excitement
Of this that will soon come to pass?
These burdens down here, at times they're so heavy,
But it's written that they will not last.
For soon they will be overpowered by a trumpet
Announcing it's time to move on
To a place that's prepared for those who've made ready
For a meeting with Almighty God.

Soon we will see the portals of glory
Soon we will see the Great I Am
Soon we will hear the angels cry "Holy!"
Soon we will see the Lamb.

FOURTH MAN WALKING

Sandy Knight

Let me remind you of a story, shall I tell it once more,
'Twas a wicked king, a burning fire and three Hebrew boys.
Now the king had formed an idol, shining image of gold,
Three refused to bow and, so the story goes on,
How they cast 'em in the fire, how they numbered them again.
Now does my vision fail me? There's an unaccounted man.

There was a fourth man walking in the midst of the fire,
Likened to the living Son of God.
Behold He has freed the Hebrew three
And walks where feet of men have never trod.
For I see Shadrach walking in the midst of the burning furnace,
Meshach strolling while the flames were rolling,
And old Abednego I see, and that makes up the three,
But there's a 4th man walking, who is He?

You say you're walking in the fire, and it's burning your feet
I know One who'll walk beside you, Lord, His presence is sweet.
And even thought the fire's raging, flames of doubt leaping high
Just take a look, you'll find Him standing there by your side.
Always there in time of trouble with deliverance in His hand.
I think I know exactly who the 4th man is.

YOU'RE ALREADY GONNA LIVE FOREVER

Mark Bishop

From the day you were born, you stared on a journey.
Trying to do the right thing, running from the wrong.
I was doing pretty good until I got a little older,
And I never knew what hit me when the devil came along.
I knew there was something missing in my life.
Felt a little tug, but I never would obey.
Then I found me a church and I listened to the preacher.
Made a lot of sense when I heard him say...

You're already gonna live forever.
Don't you wanna know somebody over there.
Have you made up your mind where you're gonna be living?
You're gonna live forever and you better know where.
You're gonna live forever and you better know where.

Everywhere I look, I see a lot of people,
Living like tomorrow never will arrive.
Trying everything that comes down the road,
It's by the grace of God that they're even still alive.
They don't wanna know there's gonna come a day
When we will give account for everything we've done.
They don't think about that resurrection morning.
When they think it's over, it's really just begun.

You're already gonna live forever.
Don't you wanna know somebody over there.
Have you made up your mind where you're gonna be living?
You're gonna live forever and you better know where.
You're gonna live forever and you better know where.

TOO MUCH TO GAIN TO LOSE

Dottie Rambo

Too many miles behind me
Too many trials are through
Too many tears help me remember
There’s just too much to gain to lose.

Too many sunsets lie behind the mountain
Too many rivers my feet have walked through
Too many treasures are waiting over yonder
There’s just too much to gain to lose.

I’ve crossed the hot burning desert
Struggling the right road to choose
But somewhere up ahead, there’s cool, clear water
And defeat is one word I don’t use.

Too many sunsets lie behind the mountain
Too many rivers my feet have walked through
Too many treasures are waiting over yonder
There’s just too much to gain to lose.

HELD

Christa Wells

Two months is too little
They let him go
They had no sudden healing
To think that providence
Would take a child from his mother
While she prays, is appalling
Who told us we'd be rescued
What has changed and
Why should we be saved from nightmares
We're asking why this happens to us
Who have died to live, it's unfair

This is what it means to be held
How it feels, when the sacred is torn from your life
And you survive
This is what it is to be loved and to know
That the promise was when everything fell
We'd be held

This hand is bitterness
We want to taste it and
Let the hatred numb our sorrows
The wise hand opens slowly
To lilies of the valley and tomorrow

This is what it means to be held
How it feels, when the sacred is torn from your life
And you survive
This is what it is to be loved and to know
That the promise was when everything fell
We'd be held

If hope is born of suffering
If this is only the beginning
Can we not wait, for one hour
Watching for our savior

This is what it means to be held
How it feels, when the sacred is torn from your life
And you survive
This is what it is to be loved and to know
That the promise was when everything fell
We'd be held

THERE'LL BE A PAYDAY

Diana Gillette

Down here my steps grow weary,
And the road gets rough and long;
Sometimes I think I'm all alone,
Yet I'll still carry on;
For a brighter day is coming,
And it thrills my heart to know;
There'll be a payday at the end of the road.

There'll be a payday at the end of life's road,
When I stroll down the streets of pure gold;
I'll have a crown to wear beyond compare,
Put on a long white robe;
I'll find my payday at the end of the road.

Some folks are planning futures,
As they search for earthly gain;
They're busy building hopes and dreams,
But it all will be in vain;
So I'm laying up my treasure,
And I'm working my way home;
Where there's a payday at the end of the road.

There'll be a payday at the end of life's road,
When I stroll down the streets of pure gold;
I'll have a crown to wear beyond compare,
Put on a long white robe;
I'll find my payday at the end of the road.

SHEPHERD, SHOW ME HOW TO GO

Lyman Brackett

Shepherd, show me how to go
O'er the hillside steep,
How to gather, how to sow,
How to feed Thy sheep.
I will listen for Thy voice,
Lest my footsteps stray;
I will follow and rejoice
All the rugged way.

Thou wilt bind the stubborn will,
Wound the callous breast,
Make self righteousness be still,
Break earth's stupid rest.
Strangers on a barren shore,
Laboring long and lone,
We would enter by the door,
And Thou knowest Thine own.

So, when day grows dark and cold,
Tear or triumph harms,
Lead Thy lambkins to the fold,
Take them in Thine arms.
Feed the hungry, heal the heart,
Till the morning's beam;
White as wool, 'ere they depart,
Shepherd, wash them clean.

'TIL THE STORM PASSES BY

Mosie Lister

In the dark of the midnight,
Have I oft hid my face;
While the storm howls above me,
And there's no hiding place;
'Mid the crash of the thunder,
Precious Lord, hear my cry;
"Keep me safe 'til the storm passes by."

'Til the storm passes over,
'Til the thunder sounds no more;
'Til the clouds roll forever from the sky,
Hold me fast, let me stand,
In the hollow of Thy hand;
Keep me safe 'til the storm passes by.

Many times Satan whispers,
"There is no need to try;
For there's no end of sorrow,
There's no hope by and by";
But I know Thou art with me,
And tomorrow I'll rise;
Where the storms never darken the skies.

'Til the storm passes over,
'Til the thunder sounds no more;
'Til the clouds roll forever from the sky,
Hold me fast, let me stand,
In the hollow of Thy hand;
Keep me safe 'til the storm passes by.

When the long night has ended,
And the storms come no more,
Let me stand in Thy presence.
On that bright, peaceful shore.
In that land where the tempest
Never comes, Lord may I
Dwell with Thee when the storm passes by.

'Til the storm passes over,
'Til the thunder sounds no more;
'Til the clouds roll forever from the sky,
Hold me fast, let me stand,
In the hollow of Thy hand;
Keep me safe 'til the storm passes by.

WE SPEAK YOUR NAME

Jason Clark

What is it that we do
When our world comes crashing in?
Life is hard, it seems
That there is no end
When our heart is torn,
Our faith is worn
And friends are hard to find
We speak Your Name,
O Precious Lord
You bring peace of mind

We speak Your Name
We speak Your Name
In times of joy,
In times of pain
We speak Your Name
We speak Your Name
In sunshine or rain
We speak Your Name

The doctor gives no hope
"We've done all we can do"
Times are hard, money's short
And the bills are due
When your strength is gone,
The days seem long
You feel like giving in
Just speak the Name of our God
You'll find strength in Him

We speak Your Name
We speak Your Name
In times of joy,
In times of pain
We speak Your Name
We speak Your Name
In sunshine or rain
We speak Your Name

My Rock, my Shield,
My Hiding Place,
My boundless store of grace
My Lord, my Life, my Way, my End,
My Savior & my Friend

We speak Your Name
We speak Your Name
In times of joy,
In times of pain
We speak Your Name
We speak Your Name
In sunshine or rain
We speak Your Name

JESUS CAN

Ricky Atkinson

If I could, I would take away
The troubles weighing heavy on your mind
And in your life.
If I could, I would wipe away
The sorrows that you feel deep down inside
And make them mine.
But there's only just so much
A friend in need can help you through along the way.
But I'm glad to say I know the One
Who will be there to help you when you pray.

If I could, I would take you by the hand
And lead your through this valley wide,
Stand upon the mountain high.
If I could, I would walk you
'Cross the burning desert sand,
Restore your soul to sweeter water
From a better land.
But I'm sure that in my strongest hour
I still could not possess the power
To bring you through the raging fire you must withstand,
But remember, Jesus can.

If I could, I would wipe away
The tears that stain your pillow in the night
And make it right.
If I could, I would lift you up
Above the clouds of doubt and fearful cries
With all my might.
But the truth remains the same,
Though I try my best I'm still a man like you.
But I'm glad to say I know the One
Who will be there to help you make it through.

If I could, I would take you by the hand
And lead your through this valley wide,
Stand upon the mountain high.
If I could, I would walk you
'Cross the burning desert sand,
Restore your soul to sweeter water
From a better land.
But I'm sure that in my strongest hour
I still could not possess the power
To bring you through the raging fire you must withstand,
But remember, Jesus can.

COMPLETELY

Sam Mizell & Matthew West

The secret of life is letting go
The secret of love is letting it show
In all that I do
In all that I say
Right here in this moment

The power of prayer is in a humble cry
The power of change is in giving my life
And laying it down
Down at your feet
Right here in this moment

Take my heart
Take my soul
I surrender everything to your control
And let all that is within me
Lift up to you and say,
"I am yours and yours alone
Completely."

This journey of life is in a search for truth
This journey of faith is following you
Every step of the way
Through the joy and the pain
Right here in this moment

Take my heart
Take my soul
I surrender everything to your control
And let all that is within me
Lift up to you and say,
"I am yours and yours alone
Completely."

KNOW SO SALVATION

Author Unknown

There are many people living with a sense of false security
They place their faith in the works of men and the things their eyes can see
But the Bible says there's only one true plan for redemption and justification
If you ever want to live in God's eternal home, you need a know so salvation

You gotta have know so salvation, if you want to reach the blessed land
You gotta have a know so salvation, if you want to join the heavenly band
You gotta take the hand of the Father to secure your soul's destination
You don't need a think so, maybe so, hope so, you gotta have a know so salvation

There is only One who ever lived His life without one single sin
He bled and died on a rugged cross, praise God, He rose again
But there's a perfect plan, God spells it out from Genesis to Revelation
You gotta place your faith in Jesus Christ to have a know so salvation

You gotta have know so salvation, if you want to reach the blessed land
You gotta have a know so salvation, if you want to join the heavenly band
You gotta take the hand of the Father to secure your soul's destination
You don't need a think so, maybe so, hope so, you gotta have a know so salvation

SAVED, SAVED!

Jack P. Scholfield

I've found a friend who is all to me,
His love is ever true;
I love to tell how He lifted me,
And what His grace can do for you.

Saved by His pow'r divine,
Saved to new life sublime!
Life now is sweet and my joy is complete,
For I'm saved, saved, saved!

He saves me from every sin and harm,
Secures my soul each day;
I'm leaning strong on His mighty arm;
I know He'll guide me all the way.

Saved by His pow'r divine,
Saved to new life sublime!
Life now is sweet and my joy is complete,
For I'm saved, saved, saved!

When poor and needy and all alone,
In love He said to me,
"Come unto me and I'll lead you home,
To live with me eternally."

Saved by His pow'r divine,
Saved to new life sublime!
Life now is sweet and my joy is complete,
For I'm saved, saved, saved!

DO YOU KNOW MY JESUS?

Vep Ellis & Bill Lakey

Have you a heart that's weary
Tending a load of care?
Are you a soul that's seeking
Rest from the burden you bear?

Do you know (do you know) my Jesus?
Do you know (do you know) my Friend?
Have you heard (have you heard)
He loves you,
And that He will abide till the end?

Where is your heart, O pilgrim?
What does your light reveal?
Who hears your call for comfort
When naught but sorrow you feel?

Do you know (do you know) my Jesus?
Do you know (do you know) my Friend?
Have you heard (have you heard)
He loves you,
And that He will abide till the end?

Who knows your disappointments?
Who hears each time you cry?
Who understands your heartaches?
Who dries the tears from your eyes?

Do you know (do you know) my Jesus?
Do you know (do you know) my Friend?
Have you heard (have you heard)
He loves you,
And that He will abide till the end?

A TENDER HEART

Ron Hamilton

Take me now, Lord Jesus, take me;
I would give my heart to Thee.
Thy devoted servant make me,
Only Thine to be.

Savior, while my heart is tender,
I would give Thee every part.
All my talents I surrender;
I am Thine, Lord, here's my heart.

Use me now, Lord Jesus, use me,
As I tell of Calvary.
May Thy Spirit move within me,
Bringing souls to Thee.

Savior, while my heart is tender,
I would give Thee every part.
All my talents I surrender;
I am Thine, Lord, here's my heart.

Send me now, Lord Jesus, send me,
Lead me in Thy perfect way.
Thy command shall always guide me;
Gladly I obey.

Savior, while my heart is tender,
I would give Thee every part.
All my talents I surrender;
I am Thine, Lord, here's my heart.

COME ON, LET'S GO TO THAT LAND

Public Domain

Let's go to that land
Come on and let's go to that land
Where milk (where milk) and honey flow
Come on (come on) come on (come on)
It's a better (it's a better) land I know
Abounding (abounding) hearts we'll make a start
We're trusting (we're trusting) in our God
Come on (come on) come on (come on)
All aboard (all aboard) let's go to that land

There'll be no tears of sorrow
No more crying over there
You know every day will be Sunday
In that city bright and fair
We're gonna walk with all of the angels
All around that great, great throne
There'll be a happy day when I get home

Let's go to that land
Come on and let's go to that land
Where milk (where milk) and honey flow
Come on (come on) come on (come on)
It's a better (it's a better) land I know
Abounding (abounding) hearts we'll make a start
We're trusting (we're trusting) in our God
Come on (come on) come on (come on)
All aboard (all aboard) let's go to that land

We'll sing, shout, praise Him name
Every day will be the same
Come on, come on, come on
Come on, come on, come on
All aboard, let's go!

WE SEEK YOUR FACE

Rodney Griffin

We have come to seek Your face
Sweet Lamb of God, giver of grace
Worthy of our highest praise
We have come to seek Your face

On His face there is a glow
That can change a weary soul
Just one glance is all it takes
To free the heart and break the chains

We have come to seek Your face
Sweet Lamb of God, giver of grace
Worthy of our highest praise
We have come to seek Your face

His loving smile invites us near
Close to His side, free from care
The darkest night will turn to day
Just from the light upon His face

We have come to seek Your face
Sweet Lamb of God, giver of grace
Worthy of our highest praise
We have come to seek Your face

I GO TO THE ROCK

Squire Parsons

When the billows are raging all around my soul
When the storms of confusion 'round me roll
There's a place that I go to and sweet comfort I receive
I go to the Rock of Ages for my every need

I go to the Rock, I go to the blessed Rock of Ages
I go to the Rock, I go to the Rock of Ages for my every need
When I'm discouraged, when I am sad,
I go to the Rock, He makes me glad
I go to the Rock of Ages for my every need

He's the Rock that I hide in, my shelter in the night
He's the Rock that I stand on for the right
In this Rock there is honey where my hungry soul can feed
I go to the Rock of Ages for my every need

I go to the Rock, I go to the blessed Rock of Ages
I go to the Rock, I go to the Rock of Ages for my every need
When I'm discouraged, when I am sad,
I go to the Rock, He makes me glad
I go to the Rock of Ages for my every need

GOD MOVES IN A MYSTERIOUS WAY

William Cowper

God moves in a mysterious way
His wonders to perform;
He plants His footsteps in the sea
And rides upon the storm.

Deep in unfathomable mines
Of never failing skill
He treasures up His bright designs
And works His sovereign will.

Ye fearful saints, fresh courage take;
The clouds ye so much dread
Are big with mercy and shall break
In blessings on your head.

Judge not the Lord by feeble sense,
But trust Him for His grace;
Behind a frowning providence
He hides a smiling face.

His purposes will ripen fast,
Unfolding every hour;
The bud may have a bitter taste,
But sweet will be the flower.

Blind unbelief is sure to err
And scan His work in vain;
God is His own interpreter,
And He will make it plain.

TRUST IN THE LORD

Thomas O. Chisholm

Trust in the Lord with all your heart
This is God's gracious command
In all your ways acknowledge Him
So shall you dwell in the land

Trust in the Lord, O troubled soul
Rest in the arms of His care
Whatever your lot, it mattereth not
For nothing can trouble you there
Trust in the Lord, O troubled soul
Nothing can trouble you there

Trust in the Lord who ruleth all
See-eth all things as they are
Be it a birdling in its nest
Or yonder uttermost star

Trust in the Lord, O troubled soul
Rest in the arms of His care
Whatever your lot, it mattereth not
For nothing can trouble you there
Trust in the Lord, O troubled soul
Nothing can trouble you there

Trust in the Lord--His eye will guide
All thro' your pathway ahead
He hath redeemed and He will keep
Trust Him and be not afraid

Trust in the Lord, O troubled soul
Rest in the arms of His care
Whatever your lot, it mattereth not
For nothing can trouble you there
Trust in the Lord, O troubled soul
Nothing can trouble you there

ONLY JESUS

Avis B. Christiansen

I've found a refuge from life's care in Jesus
I am hiding in His love divine
He fully understands my soul's deep longing
And He whispers softly, "Thou art mine."

Only Jesus! Only Jesus!
Only He can satisfy
Every burden becomes a blessing
When I know my Lord is nigh

I've found a precious joy in knowing Jesus
Never dreamed of in this world of woe
No clouds, however dark, can dim the radiance
Of the heavenly light He doth bestow

Only Jesus! Only Jesus!
Only He can satisfy
Every burden becomes a blessing
When I know my Lord is nigh

I've found a blessed hope divine in Jesus
'Tis a Day Star ever shining bright
It fills my earthly way with heavenly glory
And it turns life's darkness into light.

Only Jesus! Only Jesus!
Only He can satisfy
Every burden becomes a blessing
When I know my Lord is nigh

NO MORE NIGHT

Mark Dibler

There'll be no more night
For God will be the light
We'll lay our armor down
And receive our crown
Then we'll cast them at the feet
Of the One who won the fight
In that Land where they'll be
No more night

We live in a land
With darkness on every hand
One day Christ will come
And take us home
We'll close our eyes
To this world of strife
And wake up in the Land
Of everlasting life

There'll be no more night
For God will be the light
We'll lay our armor down
And receive our crown
Then we'll cast them at the feet
Of the One who won the fight
In that Land where they'll be
No more night

Our bodies grow weaker
Our eyes grow dimmer
One day Christ will come
And take us home
But, while we're here
We need to be a light
'Til He takes us Home
To that land of no more night

There'll be no more night
For God will be the light
We'll lay our armor down
And receive our crown
Then we'll cast them at the feet
Of the One who's won the fight
In that Land where they'll be
No more night
