THE CROSS

Gerald Crabb

To some, it’s just an emblem, a formality.
It’s a symbol that’s been used so frequently.
Many blaspheme and despise.
Though it’s ancient, it abides.
A shrine to death that stands for life to me.

There was a cross made for the Son of God at Calvary.
Two pieces of rough timber on a hill.
Through His hands and through His feet,
He took the nails for you and me.
Angels watched as He died for the lost.
Though He could have walked away, He chose the cross.

You see why this old emblem is so dear to me.
It stood for suffering, yet it brought us peace.
It bridged the gap for me.
Offered cleansing for our sins.
An icon that reminds us that we’re free.

There was a cross made for the Son of God at Calvary.
Two pieces of rough timber on a hill.
Through His hands and through His feet,
He took the nails for you and me.
Angels watched as He died for the lost.
Though He could have walked away, He chose the cross.

God forbid that I should ever let my memory fade.
But forever keep the cross in view, for that’s where I was saved.

There was a cross made for the Son of God at Calvary.
Two pieces of rough timber on a hill.
Through His hands and through His feet,
He took the nails for you and me.
Angels watched as He died for the lost.
Though He could have walked away, He chose the cross.

HE'S BEEN A FRIEND TO ME

Author Unknown

Sometimes this old world gets me down
And I don't know what to do
Sometimes it gets hard to smile
I can't see the sun shine through
But even in my darkest days
When I can hardly see my way
I can feel the hand of Jesus
He's been a friend to me

Jesus gave my life a song
Jesus, I sing it all day long
He made my life worth living, you see
He's been a friend to me

He's a friend when the day is done
When I feel the wind blow
He's a friend when the morning sun
Sets my world all aglow
But more than all, He was my friend
Before I knew I needed Him
Greater love has no one
He gave His life for me

Jesus gave my life a song
Jesus, I sing it all day long
He made my life worth living, you see
He's been a friend to me

FIND YOU HERE

Ellie Holcomb, Rusty Varenkamp, & Benji Cowart

It's not the news that any of us hoped that we would hear
It's not the road we would have chosen, no
The only thing that we can see is darkness up ahead
But You're asking us to lay our worry down and sing a song instead

And I didn't know I'd find You here
In the middle of my deepest fear,
But You are drawing near
You are overwhelming me with peace
So I'll lift my voice and sing
You're gonna carry us through everything
You are drawing near
You're overwhelming all my fears with peace

You say that I should come to You with everything I need
You're asking me to thank You even when the pain is deep
You promise that You'll come and meet us on the road ahead
And no matter what the fear says, You give me a reason to be glad

And I didn't know I'd find You here
In the middle of my deepest fear,
But You are drawing near
You are overwhelming me with peace
So I'll lift my voice and sing
You're gonna carry us through everything
You are drawing near
You're overwhelming all my fears with peace

Here in the middle of the lonely night
Here in the middle of the losing fight,
You're Here in the middle of the deep regret
Here when the healing hasn't happened yet
Here in the middle of the desert place
Here in the middle when I cannot see Your face
Here in the middle with Your outstretched arms
You can see my pain and it breaks Your heart

And I didn't know I'd find You here
In the middle of my deepest fear,
But You are drawing near
You are overwhelming me with peace
So I'll lift my voice and sing
You're gonna carry us through everything
You are drawing near
You're overwhelming all my fears with peace

Rejoice, rejoice
Don't have to worry 'bout a single thing,
'Cause You are overwhelming me with, peace!
Don't have to worry 'bout a single thing
You're gonna carry us through everything
Overwhelming peace ...

HE HIDETH MY SOUL

Fanny Crosby

A wonderful Savior is Jesus my Lord,
A wonderful Savior to me;
He hideth my soul in the cleft of the rock,
Where rivers of pleasure I see.

He hideth my soul in the cleft of the rock,
That shadows a dry, thirsty land;
He hideth my life in the depths of His love,
And covers me there with His hand,
And covers me there with His hand.

A wonderful Savior is Jesus my Lord,
He taketh my burden away,
He holdeth me up and I shall not be moved,
He giveth me strength as my day.

With numberless blessings each moment He crowns,
And filled with His fullness divine,
I sing in my rapture, oh, glory to God!
For such a Redeemer as mine.

He hideth my soul in the cleft of the rock,
That shadows a dry, thirsty land;
He hideth my life in the depths of His love,
And covers me there with His hand,
And covers me there with His hand.

When clothed with His brightness transported I rise
To meet Him in clouds of the sky,
His perfect salvation, His wonderful love,
I’ll shout with the millions on high.

He hideth my soul in the cleft of the rock,
That shadows a dry, thirsty land;
He hideth my life in the depths of His love,
And covers me there with His hand,
And covers me there with His hand.

VICTORY SHALL BE MINE

Nancy Harmon

There’s a battle we’re engaged in,
There’s a goal line we must cross
There’s a weight that must be lifted
There’s a trophy to be won

Though it seems…Though it seems the battles raging
Some are falling…Some are falling at my side
I’m gonna run this race…I’m gonna run this race with courage
‘Til I cross…’Til I cross the victory line

It shall be mine…(Victory, victory shall be mine, shall be mine)
It shall be mine…(Victory, victory shall be mine, shall be mine)
If I hold my peace, let the Lord fight my battles
If I sing and shout, have faith and never doubt
It shall be mine…(Victory, victory shall be mine, shall be mine)
Victory, victory shall be mine

Oh the joy that now awaits me
When I reach the other side
I’ll be safe at home with Jesus
In His presence so divine

So I’ll run…So I’ll run this race with patience
Looking forward to the time
There’s just one more step…There’s just one more step before me
Then I’ll cross…Then I’ll cross the victory line

It shall be mine…(Victory, victory shall be mine, shall be mine)
It shall be mine…(Victory, victory shall be mine, shall be mine)
If I hold my peace, let the Lord fight my battles
If I sing and shout, have faith and never doubt
It shall be mine…(Victory, victory shall be mine, shall be mine)
Victory, victory shall be mine

Oh, victory in Jesus
My Savior forever
Forever

Victory, victory shall be mine, shall be mine
Victory, victory shall be mine
Be mine
Be mine
Victory shall be mine

THE MEASURE OF A MAN

Donald A. Koch, Stephanie Lewis, Mark Harris

This world can analyze and size you up and throw you on the scales
They can I.Q. you and run you through their rigorous details
They can do their best to rate you, and they'll place you on the charts
And then back it up with scientific smarts
But there's more to what you're worth than their human eyes can see

Oh, I say the measure of a man is not how tall you stand
How wealthy or intelligent you are
'Cause I've found out the measure of a man God knows and understands
For He looks inside to the bottom of your heart
And what's in the heart defines the measure of a man

Well, you can doubt your worth and search for who you are and where you stand
But God made you in His image when He formed you in His hands
And He looks at you with mercy, and He sees you through His love
You're His child, and that will always be enough
For there's more to what you're worth than you could ever comprehend

Oh, I say the measure of a man is not how tall you stand
How wealthy or intelligent you are
'Cause I've found out the measure of a man God knows and understands
For He looks inside to the bottom of your heart
And what's in the heart defines the measure of a man

You can spend your life pursuing physical perfection
There is so much more, more than ever meets the eye
For God looks through the surface
And He defines your worth by what is on the inside

Oh, I say the measure of a man is not how tall you stand
How wealthy or intelligent you are
'Cause I've found out the measure of a man God knows and understands
For He looks inside to the bottom of your heart
And what's in the heart defines the measure of a man

EYES OF HEAVEN

Jim Brady, Tony Wood, and Barry Weeks

You feel forgotten like no one cares anymore
You’re all alone working hard, faithful to the Lord
But you’re starting to grow weary so I’m here to say, "Take heart,
God sees where you’re serving. He knows who you are."

The eyes of heaven move through the world today
That our God may give strength to hearts of faith
They never miss a moment, so stay faithful and true
For the eyes of heaven see you

We all have seasons when it seems we’ve labored long
And we start to feel like our souls begin to lose their song
But let your heart take comfort and courage from His Word
Hope has a revival when we trust the truth we’ve heard.

Keep on serving boldly for you are in His sight
Keep teaching the Word, keep telling the lost, being salt and light.

The eyes of heaven move through the world today
That our God may give strength to hearts of faith
They never miss a moment, so stay faithful and true
For the eyes of heaven see you
